More Natural Monuments Registered in DPRK
Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- Natural monuments are growing in numbers in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea thanks to the government's popular nature preservation policy.

Scores of objects have been registered as natural monuments for their great historical and academic significance and for their singular shapes and beauty in the recent six years.

The Chonji char named by General Secretary Kim Jong Il was recorded on the list of natural treasures.

Among the newly registered natural monuments are Okryu Mineral Spring on the bank of River Taedong flowing through Pyongyang, Thaethan Spring in South Hwanghae Province, Sambang Ravine, Tokchon Cave, Chonryong Cave, Sinthaeri Falls, Popdong Pegmatite Outcrop.

Looking round the 2,000-odd years old Kumya gingko in the Anbul Temple, natural monuments of Ogasan Natural Reserve and the stone river of Mt. Okryon, mysterious scenery of the Pujon Revolutionary Battle Site on his way of Songun revolutionary leadership, Kim Jong Il instructed officials in earnest to preserve and manage them well so that the people may enjoy them.
