Lively Response to U.S. Recognition of DPRK as Nuclear Weapons State
Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- Official documents recognizing the DPRK as a nuclear weapons state have recently been published in the United States one after another to evoke lively response in the international community.

Shortly ago, the U.S. Defense Department issued a report in which it said the rim of the great Asian Continent is already home to five nuclear powers: China, India, Pakistan, the DPRK and Russia. The U.S. defense secretary in an article contributed to a publication recently also made it clear that the DPRK manufactured several nuclear bombs.

Meanwhile, the U.S. National Intelligence Committee in a report called "2025 world trend" published recently designated the DPRK as a "nuclear weapons state".

As regards this, many media of the world gave wide publicity to this, saying that the remarks made by the defense secretary who supervises overall U.S. defense policies making the DPRK's manufacture of nuclear bombs an established fact were not made for the first time nor out of a simple mistake but a conclusion drawn on the basis of comprehensive and thorough analysis made by the U.S. military authorities. They commented that the U.S. seemed to have made a policy switchover in a bid to coexist with the DPRK possessed of nukes with a judgment that it would never abandon its nuclear weapons.

Foreign press reports predicted that on the basis of recognizing the DPRK's status as a nuclear weapons state the U.S. would seek the nuclear non-proliferation through the improved DPRK-U.S. relations and the six-party talks, too, might switch to nuclear disarmament talks among nuclear weapons states in the future.
