U.S. Moves to Launch Another Korean War Assailed
Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- It was disclosed recently that the Command of the U.S. Forces in the Pacific in a "strategic report" deemed it "a top priority task" to cope with "contingency" on the Korean Peninsula.

Rodong Sinmun Tuesday observes in a signed commentary carried in this regard:

This is a very ill-boding development as it reveals the criminal scenario of the U.S. bellicose forces to round off the U.S.-Japan-south Korea tripartite military alliance and hold a military edge in this area and thus realize their ambition for world domination.

The U.S. has persistently pushed ahead with its dangerous war scenario to stifle the DPRK by force of arms behind the scene of dialogue, not missing each chance to talk about "peace" on the peninsula. The DPRK can never remain a passive onlooker to this move.

The facts that the above-said command stressed the importance of knocking into shape the tripartite cooperative system of the U.S., Japan and south Korea in its "strategic report" and there has been a quadruple increase in the number of the U.S. strategic nuclear -powered submarines involved in "guard and observation operations" in the waters of the Pacific suggest a lot of things, the commentary notes, and goes on:

The building of the so-called U.S.-Japan-south Korea tripartite cooperative system means a tripartite military alliance grouping them.

By forming the said alliance, the U.S. imperialists seek to bind Japan and south Korea, their war servants, to it more tightly and retain their firm grip on the military strategic edge in this region in a bid to effectively use the alliance as a mechanism for executing their war. The appearance of the above-said tripartite military alliance under this situation would render the situation on the peninsula graver and make the outbreak of another Korean war an established fact. As a matter of fact, the U.S. imperialists have become more frantic in their moves to attain this objective.

The reality proves once again what a just measure the DPRK has taken to bolster its war deterrent in every way to cope with the evermore undisguised moves of the U.S. imperialists to provoke the war.

Those who are fond of playing with fire will not escape the fate of a tiger moth, the commentary warns, urging the U.S. to lend an ear to the warning of the DPRK and behave itself.
