Japan Urged to Drop Its Claim to Tok Islet
Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- Tok Islet will always remain part of the inviolable territory of the Korean nation, says Minju Joson Tuesday in a signed commentary.

It goes on:

A document recently discovered in Hamada History Museum, Shimane Prefecture, Japan, reportedly says that in the 19th century Japan recognized Tok Islet as part of Korea's territory as evidenced by its punishment of a Japanese fisherman who sailed to the islet on the charge of violation of the "Ordinance Banning Sailing to the Islet."

The document provides one more material evidence proving that the islet has long remained part of the inalienable territory of Korea, once again giving the lie before the world to the Japanese reactionaries' assertion calling for "dominion over the islet."

Japan has admitted the fact that Tok Islet belongs to Korea from a historic point of view and there are more evidence proving this. The issue of Tok Islet, therefore, admits of no argument.

The Japanese reactionaries' moves to seize Tok Islet have reached an extreme phase today.

They are leaving no means untried to persistently assert "dominium over Tok Islet." The ulterior aim sought by them through this is obviously to infuse the ambition to grab the islet into the Japanese in a bid to kick up a whirlwind for overseas aggression in the Japanese society and create environment and preconditions favorable for staging a comeback to Korea.

The Japanese reactionaries' undisguised moves to grab the islet are a wanton violation of the sovereignty of the Korean nation and a challenge to it.

No matter how desperately the Japanese reactionaries may insist that Tok Islet belongs to Japan, it can never become part of the territory of Japan.
