GNP's Moves to Make Retrogressive Revision of Laws on Media Flayed
Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- Political parties and organizations including the Democratic Labor Party and the Media Trade Unions held a press conference in Seoul on December 10 in protest against the moves of the "Grand National Party" to make a retrogressive revision of the laws on media, according to CBS of south Korea.

They accused the GNP of advancing a proposal calling for the retrogressive revision of seven laws on media which call for allowing big businesses to operate newspapers and broadcasting services in addition to their own business and own the above-said services, terming it absolutely unacceptable.

The above-mentioned political parties and organizations charged that to grant the right to operate the broadcasting service to Chosun Ilbo, Choongang Ilbo and Dong-A Ilbo is nothing but a reward to be made to them by the Lee Myung Bak regime for the services rendered by those conservative media for his seizure of power.

They called upon the people to pool efforts to check the above-said moves and protect media.
