Many Legends of Human Love Recorded This Year
Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- A lot of legendary stories on human love touching the heart's chord of all people have been recorded in the DPRK as usual in Juche 97 (2008).

It is a common practice and noble ethics to donate one's blood and flesh to others in the DPRK where the whole land is a large and harmonious family in which all people help and pull each other along.

The story of human love in Kangwon Province gives a glimpse of this fact.

A two-year-old child, who got third degree burns on 35 percent of the body, was carried to the Thongchon County People's Hospital in early January this year.

All the county people turned out to bring the child back to life, which brooked not a moment's delay. The hospital staff, officials and residents of the county, more than 800 men and women in all, donated their skin without hesitation in ten skin grafting operations on the child.

Doctors' consultations were held on thirty occasions after the operations and nutritive foodstuffs of 370 kilograms in 14 kinds went into the recovery of the patient.

Such emotional story came from South Hamgyong Province in November. More than 600 persons vied with each other in donating their blood and skin in rescuing a worker of the Pujongang Hydro-power Station who suffered third degree burns on 67 percent of his body. Among them were the medical staff of the provincial people's hospital, workers of the power station who ran over 40 kilometers to the hospital and working people of Hamhung City.

Among those who added a story to the legends of human love are the officials, doctors and nurses of the North Phyongan Provincial People's Hospital.

A furnaceman thrown into the danger of losing his eyesight by an accident was carried to the hospital some time ago.

He got cornea, sclerotitis and eyelid burns which had not yet been cured clinically. The only way to save his eyes was to transplant other's bulbar conjunctivas on him.

A total of 29 of the medical group of the hospital including operators, old doctors and a girl nurse with her wedding day a few days off devoted their precious bulbar conjunctivas to the furnaceman without stint.

When he came back to the worksite after recovering his eyesight amid the love and devotion of the most beautiful and noble people, the furnacemen said the people-centered socialist system under which the leader and the people are a harmonious whole was the best.

More beautiful stories of human love are being told at this moment in the DPRK, which a foreigner called in an excited tone "Heaven of beautiful stories" and "kingdom of kind-hearted people".
