Joint Struggle against "Government" Declared in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- At least 500 political parties and civic and public organizations in south Korea, including the People's Council for Public Welfare and Democracy, the Joint Conference of Civic and Public Organizations and the Democratic Labor Party, held a meeting in Seoul on December 4 at which they declared that they would wage joint actions against traitor Lee Myung Bak's unpopular economic policy.

The participants in the meeting charged that the economic policy pursued by the present "government" serves only a handful of the rich and big businesses and that Lee Myung Bak insisting on the "policy for the richest who account for just one percent of the population" is the worst trouble-maker.

They urged the "government" to roll back its unpopular economic policy and take measures for the people's livelihood.

Noting that only the overwhelming majority of people have undergone sufferings and the gap between the poor and the rich has widened since the international monetary crisis late in 1997, they held that the "government" should not let the people suffer misfortune in this extremely serious economic crisis.

They urged the Lee Myung Bak "government" to take steps for stabilizing the people's livelihood and solving the problems of jobs, part-time workers and minor enterprises, etc.

They declared that the political camp and the civic and public circles would struggle in solidarity to have such demands met.
