Abrogation of NSL Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- A rally for putting an end to the disgraceful history of the "National Security Law" and building a new society free from this anti-national and anti-reunification fascist law took place in Seoul on November 30 on the lapse of six decades since the NSL was cooked up.

Attending the rally were members of civic and public organizations of different strata including the People's Solidarity for Abrogation of the "National Security Law", the South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification, the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the south Korean Council of Youth Organizations and the Bar Association for a Democratic Society.

Speakers at the rally denounced the Lee Myung Bak group for intensifying the fascist rule by dint of the NSL which has no need to remain in the June 15 era of reunification.

The Lee "government" invoking the NSL, an evil law for violation of human rights, has done such impudent deeds as cosponsoring "resolution on human rights issue in north Korea", finding fault with the DPRK, they charged.

Branding those insisting on the maintenance of the NSL as the forces seeking to keep their power under the pretext of "security", they contended that this evil law should be totally abrogated.

They also demanded immediate repeal of all other evil laws equivalent to the NSL such as a "bill on the revision of the law on Intelligence Service", a "bill for revising the law on protecting telecommunication secrets", the "law on combating terrorism", the "law on keeping secrets" and the "law on tiding over cyber crisis" submitted to the "National Assembly" by the "Grand National Party".

The participants in the rally urged the abrogation of the NSL, chanting slogans with candlelight in their hands.

Earlier, civic and public organizations of different strata held a seminar in Seoul on November 27, calling for more vigorous struggle to get the NSL abolished.
