"Complete Collection of Korean Food" Compiled
Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) -- Many traditional national dishes and local special dishes are developed and enriched through energetic discovery in the DPRK.

More and more national foods are found and developed through food festivals including national local special food exhibition and national food show, and food contests, lectures and short courses.

Flour food, sea cucumber dish and meat dish were proved as time-honored national foods peculiar to Korea.

The sort of traditional dishes is ever increasing including bean food, rice gruel mixed with red-bean, rice-cake soup, steamed food, baked food, fried food, meat boiled on a skewer, pan-broiled food, slices of raw fish or meat, broth, beef with vegetables cooked in casserole, thin stew of vegetables and meat and etc.

In the staple foods, the number of rice-cake soup amounts to more than 200, that of boiled rice to over 160 and that of noodle to above 40. Varied are the kinds of kimchi, specialty of the nation.

So far, more than 6,000 kinds of national food have been compiled in the book.
