Inter-Korean Joint Seminar Held
Pyongyang, November 18 (KCNA) -- An inter-Korean joint seminar on the roles of the political parties in upholding and implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration took place here Tuesday.

It was attended by Kim Yong Dae, chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Social Democratic Party, officials concerned and the delegation of the Democratic Labor Party of south Korea headed by its representative Kang Ki Gap.

The seminar heard speeches made on the significance of the above-said declarations and the issue of maintaining a proper stand on them and on the need for the political parties to creditably fulfill their responsibilities and roles in upholding and implementing the declarations.

Speakers emphasized that the declarations provided by the top leaders of the north and the south are the programmes for national reunification which commanded full support at home and abroad as their validity and vitality have been clearly proved.

They referred to the fact that the historic declarations indicated the fundamental principles to be observed to achieve national reconciliation, unity and reunification in the idea of "By our nation itself" as a landmark of national reunification and the ways to do so.

They pointed to the great successes made by the fellow countrymen in the past by advancing true to the declarations.

The task facing the political parties in the north and the south at present is to uphold and implement the historic declarations, holding higher the banner of "By our nation itself", they stressed, calling for intensifying the actions to do so.

They underscored the need for all the political parties in the north and the south to creditably discharge their responsibilities and roles in implementing the declarations, fully aware of the heavy mission they assumed before the era and the nation.

A joint resolution for implementing the declarations was adopted there.
