On Oct. 24, the 71st Division of the south Korean puppet army launched "counter-intrusion exercises" by mobilizing huge forces and war equipment.
The south Korean puppets mobilized hundreds of "commando units" for madcap drills for intruding into strategic and tactical targets of the DPRK and scouting and destroying them in "contingency" in the period from Oct. 11 to 30.
They were busy with offensive operation exercises in the areas of Mugon-ri, Phaju City and Tosin-ri, Ryonchon County of Kyonggi Province on Oct. 8 and 26.
The U.S. imperialist aggressor forces brought the nuclear-powered submarine Ohio equipped with guided missiles to the U.S. navy base in Yokosuka of Japan on Oct. 16. They also sent the strike group of the nuclear carrier "George Washington" to Pusan and Phyongthaek ports between Oct. 6 and 10 so that they might participate in war maneuvers in waters around the Korean Peninsula for more than 10 days.
Guided missile destroyers of the navy of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces were busy staging a naval operation drill in a coordinated operation with warships of the south Korean puppet navy after entering Tonghae and Jinhae ports of south Korea on Oct. 21 and 28. The south Korean puppets mobilized nearly 20 warships including destroyers and submarines for staging naval war, naval intrusion and submarine battle exercise in the waters east of Sokcho on Oct. 27.
The south Korean puppet navy was busy with the drills for naval intrusion and landing operation in the areas of Kanghwa Island and Kimpho peninsula on Oct. 24. It staged a "naval bombardment exercise" in the waters off Phohang from Oct. 14 to 16, stirring up war fever.
On Oct. 14 and 15, overseas-based F-16, F/A-18 and KC-135 of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces flew in the sky over south Korea to conduct intensive aerial espionage against the DPRK almost everyday.
Guam-based formations of B-52H flew in the air over south Korea periodically to stage a madcap exercise for striking ground targets in combination with the long-distance navigation drill for dropping bombs and returning to their bases.
On Oct. 28, the U.S. imperialists and south Korean puppets let strategic and tactical reconnaissance planes make shuttle flights in the sky over the forefront area to commit monitoring and aerial photographing and electronic reconnaissance against areas of the north.
The number of cases of espionage committed by the U.S. imperialists against the DPRK in October reached more than 90 and the number of those perpetrated by the south Korean puppet forces in the same period over 60.
