Part-time Workers' Meeting Held in Seoul
Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The 2008 meeting of part-time workers in south Korea was held in Seoul on Oct. 26.

Speakers at the meeting said that a large number of part-time workers have waged a protracted struggle against the policy of discrimination, adding that this clearly shows what a serious phase their plight has reached.

Recalling that the present regime is working hard to increase the number of part-timers, not content with 8.7 million part-time workers, they deplored that the Lee Myung Bak group has not taken any measure to settle this problem though they are bled white.

They held that the Lee regime and "the Grand National Party" are talking about the "lost decade", but what they have lost is their senses.

Casting doubt about whether the authorities regard the part-time workers as people, the speakers warned that they would take the lead in the struggle to force the regime to step down unless the authorities repeal the "law on the part-time job."

They called on all workers to launch united actions for the abolition of the part-time job system in order to bring down the Lee regime and build a society where the workers have become its master.

They raised to the authorities an 8-point demand such as the guarantee of the right to work to the part-time workers, a stop to restructuring, a stable employment through a ban on discharge, the abolition of the "National Security Law" and a halt to suppression under the pretext of "security."

A resolution on actions was read out at the meeting.
