WPK Highly Praised
Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) has developed into a guiding force of the Korean people.

Several personages said this in their speeches at functions held in India, Philippines and Nigeria on Oct. 9 and 14 on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the foundation of the WPK.

Vishwanath, director-general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, Harish Gupta, secretary general of the Asian Regional Institute of the Juche Idea, P. Shiv Shankar, chairman of the All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association, and S. P. Pathak, chairman of the Indian Society for the Study of Works of Kim Jong Il, referred to the fact that President Kim Il Sung founded the immortal Juche idea and the Songun idea, consolidated the organizational and ideological basis for founding a party amid the flame of anti-Japanese war, founded the WPK right after liberation, based on it, and developed it into a guiding force of the Korean people.

They noted that General Secretary Kim Jong Il has developed in depth the Juche idea and the Songun idea as required by the developing reality and strengthened the WPK as invincible vanguard ranks leading the struggle of the Korean people for building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation and achieving independent and peaceful reunification of the country.

Norma G. Binas, vice-president of the Philippines Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in the Korean Peninsula, stated that the WPK wisely led the struggle of the Korean people for socialist construction on the ruins of war and resolutely frustrated the moves of the U.S. imperialists against the DPRK.

The chairman of the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea hoped that the WPK would achieve fresh victories in building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation and achieving the national reunification and the cause of global independence under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
