Large-scale Anti-"Government" Struggle Declared in S. Korea
Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- At least 100 civic and social organizations including the Citizens' Solidarity for Democratic Society and the Solidarity for Progress of south Korea and the Netizen Association held an inaugural ceremony of the People's Council for Livelihood and Democracy, a solidarity organization against Lee Myung Bak, in Seoul on Oct. 25, according to the KBS and the MBC of south Korea.

Speakers at the ceremony accused the present "government" of pursuing a policy running counter to the people's livelihood and democracy as evidenced by its moves to privatize public enterprises, health care institutions and others, adding that the above-said council would join the citizens in the movement to check this in the future.

They declared that the council would launch a large-scale anti- "government" struggle including the holding of a rally on the emergency situation in November unless the Lee Myung Bak group makes a switchover from its present policy to a policy centered on the people.

At the end of the ceremony the participants held a candlelight cultural event.
