Proposal for Founding DFRK Supported
Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- The Switzerland-Korea Committee issued a statement on Oct. 10 on the occasion of the month of the support for the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo (DFRK).

Recalling that President Kim Il Sung set forth the above-mentioned proposal on Oct. 10, 1980, the statement pointed out that this proposal is the most realistic and fair and aboveboard one as it indicates the way of achieving the reunification of Korea by the federal formula based on one nation, one state, two systems and two governments.

Explaining the detailed contents and validity of the proposal, the statement went on:

The main contents of the above-said proposal are reflected in the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration.

The DFRK must be a neutral and non-aligned state which is not affiliated to any bloc and does not allow the presence of troops of any other countries and the establishment of their military bases in its own territory.

The U.S. should withdraw its forces from south Korea and put an end to the interference in the internal affairs of the Korean people.

The Korean people's struggle for the reunification of the country which had advanced under the banner of "By our nation itself" has encountered difficulties since the pro-U.S. conservative Lee Myung Bak regime emerged in south Korea.

With no force can the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad ever arrest or frustrate the dynamic struggle of the Korean people to drive the U.S. troops out of south Korea and independently and peacefully reunify the country.

The founding of the DFRK provides a sure guarantee for peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and in the Asia-Pacific region.
