Apology and Reparation to Victims of "Comfort Women" for Imperial Japanese Army Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, October 20 (KCNA) -- The 835th Wednesday Rally took place in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul on October 15 to demand the settlement of the issue of "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army.

Present there were members of the Federation of Women's Organizations of south Korea and victims of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army.

A statement which was read out at the rally said that all circles have struggled together with the victims in demand of apology and reparation from the Japanese authorities as regards the issue of "comfort women". It denounced Japan for doggedly negating its past crimes and behaving so mean in a bid to evade its responsibility for them till now.

The statement urged the "government" and the "National Assembly" to pay full attention to this issue, strive to settle the issue of the "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army and actively counter Japan's distortion of history.

It stressed that Japan should lend an ear to the voices of survivors who suffered from the atrocities committed by the imperialists and make an official apology and legal reparation.
