Wreaths Laid before Grave of Ri Po Ik
Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the grave of Ri Po Ik, ardent patriot, in Mangyongdae, Saturday on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of her demise.

Seen standing before the grave was a wreath sent by Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Yang Hyong Sop, Ro Tu Chol and Kim Yong Dae and officials of party and power organs, ministries and national institutions and servicepersons of the KPA and working people in the city.

Placed there were wreaths in the name of the Central Committee of the WPK, ministries and national institutions, scientific, educational and cultural and arts institutions, revolutionary schools and party and power organs and farms in Pyongyang.

The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the noble life of Ri Po Ik who added shine to the patriotic and revolutionary tradition of the Mangyongdae family and devoted herself to the country and its people.
