DPRK's Stand on All Forms of Terrorism Reiterated
Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- A DPRK delegate clarified the view of his delegation on the anti-terror struggle, addressing the meeting of the 6th Committee of the 63rd UN General Assembly which discussed the agenda item "Measure for combating international terrorism" held on October 8.

Underlining the need to pay special attention to eradicating state-sponsored terrorism at an early date, he noted that the U.S. forces' armed invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq and their continued "anti-terrorism war" in those countries are typical examples of terrorism committed by state armed forces.

He stressed the need for the international community to keep high vigilance against the dangerous terrorism by the state army and conduct all anti-terrorism activities in such a way as to serve the purpose and principle of the UN Charter and respect international law under any circumstances, centering around the UN.

He also emphasized the need not to allow some specified states to use the anti-terrorism struggle as leverage for seeking their political and economic purposes in any case.

In order to remove the root cause of terrorism it is necessary to direct primary efforts to eradicating the social inequality and poverty while establishing the fair international relations of mutual respect, equality, friendship and cooperation whereby all countries and nations can fully exercise their rights to live and develop independently, he said, and went on:

The DPRK government has consistently maintained the firm stand of opposing all forms of terrorism and support of any form to them and will fulfill its responsibility and duty as a member state of the UN to eradicate the root cause of all forms of terrorism and build a peaceful, stable and prosperous world, guided by the idea of its foreign policy of independence, peace and friendship in the future, too.
