Rehabilitation of Martyrs for Democracy Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- The Measure Committee of Bereaved Families for Probing into the Truth behind Suspicious Deaths and the Solidarity Meeting of Organizations to Honor Memory of Martyrs for the Nation and Democracy in south Korea called a press conference in Seoul on October 6 at which they urged the puppet authorities to rehabilitate the martyrs for democracy.

A press release read out there referred to the fact that the "deliberation commission on rehabilitation of those involved in the movement for democratization and compensation to them," an organ under the "prime minister's" control, is these days reversing the decisions on rehabilitation of martyrs for democracy which were made by the "committee for probing into the truth behind suspicious deaths" after its investigation of several years.

This shows that the "deliberation commission" has zealously joined in the moves of the present "government" and the conservative forces who regard the movement for democratization as unacceptable, revising history textbooks to beautify the past dictatorial regimes, it pointed out.

It stressed that the "deliberation commission" should not deny the movement for democratization in support of the "government" and the conservative forces but discharge its responsibility to rehabilitate the martyrs for democracy.
