Struggle for Peace and Reunification on Korean Peninsula Declared in S. Korea
Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- Citizens' Forum for Peace was formed with due ceremony on Oct. 1 in south Korea. It groups representatives of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, the Women's Society for Peace and other civic and public organizations in south Korea.

A declaration adopted at the ceremony said that over six decades have passed since the division of the nation, adding that the fellow countrymen in the north and the south and overseas are now waging a vigorous struggle to achieve reunification under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

The declaration noted that due to the rash acts of the Lee Myung Bak's "government" against reunification and the people the past era of dictatorship is coming back as evidenced by the deterioration of the inter-Korean relations and the undisguised violation of democracy and human rights, etc.

The declaration called upon various organizations to wage a movement for peace against war and boost international support and cooperation for peace and reunification of Korea.

It also appealed to the people of all strata to firmly unite and struggle for peace and reunification of the peninsula.
