DPRK-Targeted Joint Military Exercises Slammed
Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- The provocative joint military exercises aiming at invading the DPRK should be stopped in south Korea in order to achieve durable peace of the Korean Peninsula and pave a wide avenue for peaceful reunification as required by the times and the nation, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a signed article.

To put an end to the joint military exercises targeted against the DPRK is a realistic and important issue in ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula, the article notes, and goes on:

The above-said joint military exercises are the root cause of aggravating the military confrontation on the peninsula and bringing the danger of war to it.

They are a clear revelation of the U.S. criminal hostile policy towards the DPRK.

The U.S. is talking about "peace and stability" on the peninsula, but it is, in actuality, pursuing confrontation and war against the DPRK. All its military actions in Korea are not aimed at preserving "peace" but at serving the purpose of rounding off the preparations to carry out its policy for invading the DPRK.

The large-scale joint military exercises are a main part of the moves stepped up by the U.S. in south Korea to launch a war of aggression against the DPRK.

This year the U.S. staged Key Resolve and Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises. These were very dangerous military provocations which indicated that its adventurous strategy for a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK remains unchanged.

The above-mentioned joint military exercises are a product of the reckless and traitorous moves of the south Korean puppets for confrontation and war.

Those moves of the U.S. and its followers, the south Korean puppets are rendering the situation on the peninsula so tense that a war may break out there any moment. All the DPRK-targeted joint military exercises being staged in south Korea should be stopped unconditionally.

All Koreans should never allow the above-said joint military exercises as they escalate confrontation and tension on the peninsula and increase the danger of war, the article concludes.
