U.S. Troops in South Korea, Murderers

Pyongyang, September 12 (KCNA) -- Sixty-three years have elapsed since the U.S. imperialists occupied south Korea in September 1945.
The days of the presence of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces in south Korea are a history of blood and shocking crimes.
Ever since they set foot in south Korea, the U.S. imperialists have inflicted all manner of immeasurable misfortunes and disasters upon the people there and killed innocent people at random.
They brutally put down the struggle of the people in different parts of south Korea against the U.S. "military government" in October 1946 by setting in motion planes, tanks and chemical weapons, leaving more than 25,000 people dead.
During the April 3 Popular Uprising against the May 10 separate election in Jeju Island which continued till June 1949 they also slaughtered over 70,000 out of 300,000 islanders by the most brutal methods.
In five years since the occupation of south Korea by the U.S. imperialists, peaceable inhabitants killed by them totaled over a million.
The atrocious massacres against south Koreans by the U.S. imperialist aggression troops continued even in the postwar days, to say nothing of the period of the Korean war.
The endless list of cases of brutal murders committed by the U.S. imperialists includes the shooting of a girl in Kunsan in 1957, the throwing of a boy in a box from a helicopter in Puphyong in February 1958, the shooting of a firewood collector in Phaju in 1962 and a random firing in June 1981.
The murder committed by them in south Korea reached the peak of hysteria during the Kwangju Popular Uprising in May 1980.
On the order of the U.S. imperialists the Chun Doo Hwan group killed more than 5,700 inhabitants of all strata and inflicted light and heavy wounds on 14,000 others in a matter of a few days of the popular uprising in Kwangju.
The brutal murder and crimes of the U.S. imperialist aggression troops in south Korea have never ceased in the new century. The typical case is that they ran an armored car over two young middle school girls, Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, on a road in Yangju County, Kyonggi Province in broad daylight on June 13, 2002.
The United States must withdraw its forces from south Korea at once, putting an end to the history of crimes in which it has only imposed misfortunes and sufferings on the south Koreans.

Withdrawal of U.S. Troops from S. Korea Demanded

Pyongyang, September 12 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification released a statement titled "U.S. troops, quit this land at once" on September 8.
The statement said that Sept. 8 is the day of disgrace which marks the lapse of 63 years since the U.S. troops occupied south Korea, strongly demanding the U.S. troops, a hotbed of plunder and crimes and a nuclear war, quit south Korea at once.
Though 63 years have passed since their occupation of this land they remain unchanged in their aggressive and predatory nature, the statement said.
The U.S. forces are busy staging war exercises for aggression under an undisguised war scenario for mounting a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK, threatening the existence of the nation, the statement noted, urging the U.S. troops in south Korea to give up all the policies of war on the Korean Peninsula and their hostile policy towards the north.
Should the U.S. and sycophantic and traitorous forces continue to pursue a policy of war and subjugation in disregard of the trend of the times and the great cause of the people, they will have to pay a dear price for the crimes they have committed in this land, it warned.

Japan's Revision of "Law on Special Measures against Terrorism" Assailed

Pyongyang, September 12 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, the chief executive of Japan met with the U.S. president and promised that Japan's Maritime "Self-Defence Force" would carry on its refueling action in the Indian Ocean. Then, he had a confidential talk with Japan's defence minister over the matter of submitting to the provisional Diet a new "amendment to the law on special measures against terrorism". He also instructed the minister to give the people understandable explanation about the "importance" of Japan's involvement in the "anti-terrorism war".
The defence minister and the foreign minister of Japan, too, stressed the "need" to revise the above-said law.
Commenting on it, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun today charges that their assertion is intended to let the "Self-Defence Forces" go on their advance and operational activities overseas.
The ulterior intention of the Japanese reactionaries, who persist in the revision of the law while leaving no stones unturned to carry it into practice, is to always act a war servant for the U.S and set out on the road of overseas expansion with the backing of their master obtained in return for their service, the commentary points out, and says:
Their theory of revising the law precisely means a doctrine for overseas aggression.
They are advertising about the opinion of the world community as if it is expressing "understanding" and "sympathy" with their involvement in the "anti-terrorism war". Such behavior is nothing but a distortion of the reality and a foolish deed of those not knowing where they stand.
The world community does never want the Japanese militarists to participate and make "contribution" to the U.S.-led "anti-terrorism war" which makes blood-stained history of aggression. On the contrary, it demands that Japan settle its crime-woven past as early as possible and immediately stop the moves for overseas aggression.
The Japanese reactionaries had better behave themselves, facing up to the trend of the times.

Lee Myung Bak Group's Suppression Condemned

Pyongyang, September 12 (KCNA) -- Members of the Korean Friendship Association headquartered in Spain and its Thai and German branches released a statement in Pyongyang Thursday denouncing the Lee Myung Bak group's suppression of the democratic forces in south Korea.
Accusing the Lee group of taking such fascist action as inflicting a heavy penalty upon Yun Ki Jin, chairman of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification, on the charge of the violation of the ill-famed "National Security Law" in the wake of arresting and detaining leading members of the Solidarity for Progress in south Korea and workers there one after another, the statement went on:
The Lee group's indiscriminate racket of suppression and hideous gangsterism have turned south Korea into a dark land of fascism and a tundra of human rights, a land swept by a whirlwind of harsh suppression reminiscent of military dictatorship.
We bitterly condemn the Lee group's crackdown upon the democratic forces as a wanton infringement upon justice, democracy and human rights.
No matter how desperately the present south Korean ruling quarters try to tide over their ruling crisis through their merciless suppression, they can never quell the indomitable fighting spirit of the south Korean people nor can they break their will nor can they block their advance.
The Lee group will not escape the people's curse and denunciation but meet self-destruction, should they continue resorting to fascism and dictatorship, instead of drawing a lesson from the miserable end met by the erstwhile dictatorial forces.
The statement demanded the Lee Myung Bak group repeal the NSL, an undemocratic and anti-reunification law, unconditionally release the unreasonably detained progressive figures and participants in candlelight actions and immediately stop their suppression of the south Korean people in their just struggle for the right to existence and democracy.

War Moves of U.S. and S. Korea against DPRK Assailed

Pyongyang, September 12 (KCNA) -- The chairman of the Pretoria Branch of the Democratic Teachers' Union of South Africa who is chairman of the Group for the Study of the Progressive Ideas of South Africa made public a statement on Sept. 4 denouncing the U.S. and south Korean bellicose forces' moves for war against the DPRK.
The war exercises recently staged by the U.S. and south Korean bellicose forces were clearly aimed at threatening the DPRK by force and, at the same time, comprehensively examining and rounding off the operation capability for mounting a preemptive nuclear attack on it, the statement said, and went on:
Their exercises for a war of aggression were another grave military provocation to the DPRK and a blatant challenge to all the Korean people and the world progressives who aspire after peace, democracy and reunification of Korea.
The statement urged the U.S. to immediately stop its moves for aggression and war on the Korean Peninsula and make the earliest possible policy switchover to contributing to peace and democracy in the region.

The Korean people underwent hardships due to the anti-socialist offensive of the U.S. and other imperialist allied forces and the repeated natural disasters in the 1990s, but achieved signal successes in the efforts to build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation and reunify the country under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il, who is successfully carrying forward the cause of the President, he noted.
Noting that the successes achieved by the DPRK instill great strength and courage into the world progressive people, he reiterated the will to intensify the activities supporting the just cause of the Korean people in the future.
