"Woman Spy Case" Touted by Lee Myung Bak Group Dismissed
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland issued a statement Tuesday slamming the Lee Myung Bak group for frantically kicking up a confrontational racket against the DPRK after cooking up what it called "woman spy case" in recent days.
The statement said:
The case does not deserve even a passing note as it is a threadbare charade disclosing the true aim sought by the group from the outset, but we can not but reveal the falsity of the case before the world as its orchestrator has gone far beyond the tolerance limit in a bid to hurt the dignity of the DPRK and tarnish its international image.
As far as the "woman spy" at issue is concerned, she is a criminal who fled after committing crimes against the state and the people, and human scum crazy for money, vanity and swindling.
She finished middle school education, enjoying free education and free medical care in the DPRK but after school she was engrossed in fraud, swindling and theft to meet even legal punishment.
She did not reform herself even in the subsequent period but continued swindling. She defected to the south long ago, evading punishment by law.
In the DPRK she not only did enormous damage to properties of the state and society but caused huge damage to private properties on several occasions. For these crimes she was sentenced to six years of forced labor and prison terms.
As for her step-father whom the group claims was put under custody, he is also human scum who betrayed the homeland and the people. He idled away time while changing his jobs dozens of times when he was in the DPRK.
The puppets painted such swindlers and idlers as "spies dispatched by a certain institution of the north". This is ridiculous enough to make even a cat laugh.
The information about the activities allegedly conducted by the "woman spy" released by the puppet security authorities, is also a sheer lie.
They said they hired the "woman spy" as a "security lecturer" at a unit of the puppet army despite the fact that they found something "questionable" in her from three years ago. This proves that the puppet army and the security authorities of the south side must be made up of blind and deaf people.
A lot of "spy cases" were cooked up in the south in the past, too, to spark off public furor, but this is the first time that such a clumsy "spy case" was fabricated.
The farce orchestrated by the Lee group, not feeling ashamed of itself, only to become a laughing stock of the world is aimed to divert elsewhere the people's criticism of it due to its domestic and foreign policy failures and mislead the public opinion in a bid to get rid of the tight corner at which it is now finding itself.
It is also aimed to rally conservative forces, suppress progressive forces, evade the responsibility for bedeviling the north-south relations and pursue confrontational policy towards fellow countrymen.
The group of traitors has gone the lengths of painting such human scum little different to psychopath who has been engrossed in swindling, brokerage and prostitution as a "spy" and using her for the anti-DPRK confrontational racket. This clearly proves in what deplorable position the group is now finding itself.
The fabrication of the case is another grave provocation to the DPRK in the wake of the incident of the south Korean tourist that took place in the area of Mt. Kumgang in July.
The group even tried to build up public opinion, groundlessly linking the "spy case" with the sacred institution in charge of the state security defence in the DPRK. This is an insult and mockery of the dignity and system of the DPRK.
The DPRK will never remain an on-looker to the smear campaign against it launched by the group of traitors in a bid to do harm to the system in the DPRK after fabricating the above-said case, not content with deteriorating the inter-Korean relations while letting loose a spate of provocative outbursts inciting confrontation with fellow countrymen and crying out for "regime change" and "preemptive attack".
The recent incident more clearly proves that the Lee Myung Bak group is made up of philistines and anti-reunification confrontational maniacs putting the preceding military fascist dictators into the shade.
Traitor Lee Myung Bak seems to try to use the trite methods used by the preceding dictators in the past, not knowing how much the world has changed over the past decade. He should bear in mind that this is little short of following in the footsteps of the predecessors who met deaths.
Kim Yong Nam Receives Credentials from Cypriot Ambassador
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, received credentials from Marios P. Ieronymides, Cypriot ambassador to the DPRK, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Wednesday.
Present there was Kung Sok Ung, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs.
After receiving the credentials, Kim had a talk with him.
South Korean Authorities' Suppression of Pro-Reunification Figure under Fire
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Youth and Students Sub-Committee of the North Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration issued a statement on September 2 accusing the south Korean puppet authorities of taking such fascist action as sentencing Yun Ki Jin, chairman of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification, to three years in prison and three years of suspension of civil rights at a trial held on August 27 by invoking the ill-famed "National Security Law".
The Lee Myung Bak group has forced Yun to undergo all sorts of mental and physical sufferings after arresting him in February last and inflicted heavy penalty upon him by bringing charges of "infiltration and escape," "accession to an enemy-benefiting organization" and "encouragement and praise," the statement noted, and went on:
They inflicted such heavy penalty upon him, not content with imposing all sorts of hardships upon him who was forced to live separated from his parents and wife and children for such a long period, after incriminating his activities for national unity and reunification on the charge of the violation of the NSL, an anti-human rights law, which has lost any justification to exist any longer. This rash act can be perpetrated only by the ferocious gang of fascists bereft of elementary human rights and ethics and morality and utterly indifferent to national reunification.
The Lee group's suppression of Yun clearly revealed once again that they are fascist dictators and the group of anti-reunification elements who have not an iota of will to implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.
The fascist suppression is not an all-powerful means for staying in power but a shortcut to destruction.
Traitor Lee Myung Bak should behave himself, facing up to the trend of the history of the nation in which the Koreans are advancing to achieve unity and reunification by their concerted efforts under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration.
The puppet authorities should stop at once the suppression of the reunification movement organizations and immediately set free the unreasonably detained youth and students and figures including Yun.
Art Performance Marks Birthday of DPRK
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- A performance was given by the Workers' Art Group of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) at the Central Workers' Hall on Sept. 2 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK.
The performance began with chorus "Song of the Proclamation of the People's Republic". Put on the stage were colorful numbers such as trio poem recital "Immortal Feats" and mixed duet "Let's Sing of General Dear to People."
The performers sang high praises of the brilliant feats performed by President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero, in founding the DPRK, which demonstrates its dignity for being independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence, and achieving its prosperity and the immortal exploits Kim Jong Il has performed by defending the socialist country with his original Songun politics and bringing about the dawn of a great prosperous powerful nation.

Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- A national oratorical meeting took place at the Central Youth Hall on September 2 to celebrate the 60th birthday of the DPRK.
The participants heard oratories titled " Flag of the Republic", "We Know That", "White Snow", "Our Mental Power", "Umbrella", "Country and Rice" and others.
The speakers highly praised President Kim Il Sung who built the country of people, the first of its kind in the history spanning 5,000 years by embodying the idea of believing in people as in Heaven and the immortal exploits General Secretary Kim Jong Il performed by bringing about a great heyday of national prosperity with his outstanding Songun revolutionary leadership.

Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- A national art exhibition for celebrating the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the DPRK was opened.
On display at the exhibition are at least 700 art works depicting the undying exploits the three commanders of Mt. Paektu performed by founding and developing the DPRK and the KPA and the people dynamically advancing to bring about gigantic creations and changes and scale the eminence of a great prosperous powerful nation under the leadership of the Party.

Chongchun Street, Sports Complex
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- The Chongchun Street is a sports complex in Pyongyang.
The street stretches north-south from Angol Flyover to Chilgol Flyover. On its right side there are the Sosan Football Stadium, the Handball Gymnasium, the Table-tennis Gymnasium, the Combat Sports Gymnasium, the Light Sports Gymnasium, the Badminton Gymnasium, the Swimming Gymnasium, a house for relieving fatigue, a restaurant for sportspersons and hotels and on the left side there are the Taekwon-Do Hall, the Weightlifting Gymnasium, the Basketball Gymnasium and the Volleyball Gymnasium suited to the geographical features.
The total plottage of the sports and public buildings in the street run into hundreds of thousands of square meters.
Dozens of sports events can be held simultaneously at the gymnasiums.
All the gymnasiums have many rooms including training rooms of various events, referee rooms, coach rooms and all necessary sports facilities.
The street was completed on September 3, Juche 77 (1988).
Several hundred home and international sports games have been held there.
Now the Chongchun Street plays a big role in developing sports of the country.
Plunder of Underground Resources by Japanese Imperialists in Korea
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- The Japanese imperialists had committed most brutal state crimes of plundering Korea of heaps of her rich underground resources during their 40-odd years of colonial rule.
From the first days of their occupation of Korea, the Japanese imperialists shaped predatory policies and made desperate efforts for their realization.
They, who had surveyed the distribution of mineral resources of Korea in an all-round way from 1911, promulgated "Korean Mining Act", a colonial evil law, in 1915 to ensure the monopolistic and large-scale predatory acts.
The Japanese imperialists limited the development and management of mines by Koreans to the extreme and guaranteed unlimited advance of Japanese mining capitalists into Korea by "law", thus revealing their heinous intention to stifle the national mining industry and carry away abundant underground resources.
The Japanese mining industry thronged into Korea by taking advantage of the condition that Korea was reduced to a colony of Japan and the "Korean Mining Act" was enforced, and began to carry away underground resources in full earnest.
In order to afford convenience in the Japanese mining capitalists' unlimited predatory acts, the imperialists enacted a series of policies one after another and revised some provisions of the "Korean Mining Act" in 1916.
And they abolished the import tax on coal cutting and iron-making facilities and others to ship into Korea facilities needed for the first-stage processing of iron and lead ores and other minerals on the spot. It ensured by law the plunder of mining resources in a more extensive way.
As a result, the national mining industry of Korea was trampled underfoot utterly and the Japanese monopoly capitalists boomed, favored by it.
Having built smelteries in various places including Hungnam and Haeju, the Japanese imperialists resorted to every conceivable means to take away large amounts of nonferrous metals. During their occupation, they brought away nearly 400 tons of gold according to an extremely curtailed data.
To fill the steel needed for the production of various kinds of weapons along with the escalation of the war of aggression, the Japanese imperialists developed iron ore mines in a big way and carried away iron ores.
Most of the iron works in Japan turned out iron with the iron ore which they carried away from Korea. Particularly, the iron works in Kyushu and Hokkaido were fed every year respectively with 200,000 tons and 40,000 tons of iron ore produced in Jaeryong, Unryul, Kaechon and other areas.
Besides, they robbed Korea of precious mineral ores including zinc, nickel and magnesite.
The human history has witnessed lots of aggression and predatory acts. But it has not seen such an instance as the Japanese imperialist aggressors who plundered other country of underground resources in the most brigandish and vicious way.
Japan is obliged to apologize and compensate for them.

Buddhists' "Anti-Government" Actions Staged
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- Masses were simultaneously held in at least 10,000 temples across south Korea including Jogye Temple in Seoul on August 31 in protest against traitor Lee Myung Bak's religious discrimination, according to MBC of south Korea.
Speakers at the masses excoriated Lee for still ignoring Buddhism and turning down even the demand for the dismissal of the chief of the Police Office even after Buddhists rose up in protest against the authorities' biased policy on religion on August 27.
They threatened to hold again all-Buddhists rallies across south Korea unless the authorities meet the demands of the Buddhist circle.
They strongly urged Lee to make an apology for the religious discrimination and fire the chief of the Police Office.
A video dealing with the present "government's" suppression of Buddhism was shown at the masses.
Struggle against Neo-liberalist Educational Policy Declared in S. Korea
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- The Teachers Union of south Korea held an extraordinary meeting of its deputies in Chungju City, North Chungchong Province, on August 30 and 31 at which it declared that the union would carry on the struggle against the neo-liberalist educational policy of the "government", according to CBS of south Korea.
The union accused the "government" of unilaterally pushing ahead with the neo-liberalist policy such as "forcing schools to teach students in English" and "school autonomy" in defiance of people's opinion which would seriously affect education.
The union declared that it would stage dynamic actions to force the present "government" to set right the wrong educational policy
Abolition of NSL Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- The Action Headquarters of the 16th-term south Korean Federation of University Student Councils on August 29 issued a statement demanding the abolition of the "National Security Law (NSL)", a fascist law.
The statement recalled the fact that the Seoul Central District Court on August 27 held a trial at which it sentenced the chairman of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification to a prison term on the charge of "violence of the NSL".
It noted that the court, justifying the NSL in the course of the trial, totally denied the progress made in the development of the inter-Korean relations since the publication of the June 15 joint declaration.
The statement charged that since Lee Myung Bak came to power the number of victims of the NSL has increased at an exponential rate and his brutal crackdown upon the progressive forces is getting more undisguised than ever before.
Noting that all the south Koreans are calling for the repeal of the NSL, the statement warned that the Lee group's intensified crackdown upon the progressive forces would touch off stronger resistance.
Rally for Reunification Held in Seoul
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- A rally for reunification in 2008 took place in Seoul on Aug. 30 with an attendance of members of more than 20 political parties and organizations and school youth and children.
Speakers at the rally called for grasping once again the significance of the June 15 joint declaration and October 4 declaration and actively turning out to implement them.
They said that the above-said rally would provide the inhabitants in the area with an opportunity to show greater interest in national reunification and lay a cornerstone for achieving peaceful reunification.
They expressed their will to expand the reunification movement.
The event included a photo exhibition on the north, an art performance and primary schoolers' competition in drawing paintings on the theme of reunification.
Kim Jong Il's Work Published in Austria
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il's famous work "Our Socialism Centred on the Masses Shall Not Perish" was brought out in pamphlet by the Joseph Gebauer Publishing House in Vienna, Austria.
The work, published on May 5, Juche 80 (1991), clarifies the inevitability of the victory of socialism, the solidity and the secret of the invincibility and the intrinsic characteristics of socialism in the DPRK and others.
DPRK Praised by Guinean Figure
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- Banou Keita, chairman of the Guinea-Korea Friendship Association, issued a statement on August 25 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK.
The statement said that the foundation of the DPRK on Sept. 9, 1948 was the fruition of the arduous and protracted struggle of the Korean people for national independence, adding that the six decade-long history of the DPRK is recorded with the struggle to safeguard and glorify its sovereignty.
No wonder, the world public is becoming increasingly vocal praising the DPRK as a fortress of independence as it is dynamically advancing along the path chosen by itself with faith and grit, while resolutely reacting to the U.S. high-handed policy with the toughest measures, stressed the statement.

DPRK's Birthday Marked in South Africa
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- The Mfumalanga Provincial Committee of the South African Communist Party and the South African Association of Friendship and Solidarity with Korean People jointly released a special bulletin on Aug. 28 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK.
The bulletin under the headline "60th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK" carried articles under various titles including "The DPRK and its founding father Kim Il Sung", "HE Kim Jong Il's Songun exploits shining in human history" and "Songun politics and Korean-style socialism".

Birthday of DPRK to Be Marked in Equatorial Guinea
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- An inaugural ceremony of the Equatorial Guinean preparatory committee to celebrate the 60th birthday of the DPRK was held in Malabo on Aug. 26.
At the ceremony the vice-minister of Education, Science and Sports of Equatorial Guinea was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.
The committee decided to conduct various political and cultural events on the occasion.

Pero, dado que con esta farsa la banda de Lee dana la dignidad de la RPDC y denigra hasta su imagen exterior, nos vimos obligados a aclarar la falsedad del caso, senala el documento y continua:
La "espia" en cuestion es la delincuente que se fugo por su crimen cometido ante el Estado y el pueblo y es una escoria humana enloquecida por el dinero, deformacion y fraudes.
Bajo el sistema de educacion gratuita y asistencia medica gratuita de la RPDC, ella recibio la ensenanza media y se incorporo a la sociedad. Pero, al cabo de ocuparse de fraudes, estafas y robos recibio debidamente la sancion legal.
Sin embargo, en vez de arrepentirse de su proceder, no ceso de cometer actos fraudulentos y hace mucho tiempo paso ilegalmente la frontera y despues, paso al Sur de Corea evadiendo la sentencia legal.
Cuando vivia en la RPDC, robo en varias ocasiones la enorme suma de los bienes estatales, sociales e individuales, debido a lo cual fue condenada a 6 anos de trabajos reeducativos y debio sufrir la vida carcelaria.
El llamado padrastro de la "espia", que fue detenido junto con ella, es tambien un holgazan que cambio decenas veces de sus empleos sin tener la profesion fija y se huyo al Sur de Corea al traicionar la patria y el pueblo.
Es muy ridiculo que los titeres surcoreanos hicieron de tales tipejos los "espias enviados por un organo correspondiente del Norte".
Son mentirosos los datos de actividades de la "espia" publicados por las autoridades titeres de seguridad publica.
En particular, dicen que emplearon a esta "espia" como "conferenciante de seguridad" de una unidad del ejercito titere, aunque desde hace 3 anos captaron algunos "puntos dudosos". Esto significa que el ejercito titere y las autoridades de seguridad publica del Sur de Corea son ciegos y sordos.
En el pasado tambien en el Sur de Corea se armaban escandalos por numerosos "casos de espia", pero, es primero el caso tan pueril como el presente.
La banda de Lee invento tal farsa ridicula sin sentir verguenza con el fin de desviar la vista dirigida a si misma por el fracaso de su politica interna y externa, liberarse de su situacion muy desesperada, agrupar a las fuerzas conservadoras y reprimir a las fuerzas progresistas, eludir la responsabilidad por la agravacion de las relaciones Norte-Sur y aplicar su politica de enfrentamiento con los connacionales.
La banda traidora presenta ante la escena de confrontacion contra la RPDC a tal mujerzuela loca que se entregaba a los actos fraudulentos y al servicio sexual, tras disfrazarla como la "espia". Esto demuestra claramente que ahora la banda de Lee se encuentra en una situacion muy lamentable.
El presente caso es una nueva provocacion grave contra la RPDC seguida al incidente de turista del monte Kumgang ocurrido en julio pasado.
En particular, la intencion de la banda de Lee de relacionar absurdamente el presente caso con el sagrado organismo de defensa de seguridad de la RPDC y presentarlo a la opinion publica es un insulto y una burla a nuestra dignidad y regimen.
No pasaremos por alto jamas que la banda traidora lanza los disparates provocativos que fomentan la confrontacion con los connacionales, perora de la teoria de "cambio de regimen" y de "ataque preventivo", agrava las relaciones con el Norte, y no satisfecho con eso, arma el alboroto intrigante anti-RPDC calumniando nuestro regimen mediante la invencion del "caso de espia".
El presente caso demuestra fehacientemente que la banda de Lee es la de conspiradores que superan a los dictadores fascistas militares del pasado y fanaticos de confrontacion anti-reunificacion.
El traidor Lee intenta repetir caducos metodos de ex dictadores sin saber que durante 10 anos pasados cambio mucho el mundo, pero debe darse clara cuenta de que esto le lleva a la tumba.
Guinea Ecuatorial: comite preparatorio para efemeride coreana
Pyongyang, 3 de septiembre (ATCC) -- Tuvo lugar el 26 de agosto en Malabo la ceremonia constituyente del comite preparatorio de Guinea Ecuatorial para el 60o aniversario de la fundacion de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea.
En la ocasion como titular de la entidad naciente fue electo el viceministro de Educacion, Ciencia y Deportes de este pais africano.
El comite decidio organizar diversas actividades politicas y culturales con motivo de esa efemeride.
Huespedes extranjeros recorren la Cueva Ryongmun
Pyongyang, 3 de septiembre (ATCC) -- En ocasion del 60o aniversario de la fundacion de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea, los funcionarios encargados de asuntos culturales y de amistad de las embajadas de varios paises en Corea visitaron la vispera la Cueva Ryongmun.
Escuchando la explicacion sobre el hecho de que gracias al noble proposito de Iminwichon (considerar al pueblo como el cielo) y la sabia direccion del Dirigente Kim Jong Il, la cueva enterrada durante mucho tiempo se convirtio en un lugar de paisaje subterraneo, los huespedes recorrieron la cueva que hace alarde de su majestuosidad, magnificencia, elegancia y hermosura.
Entidad nortena denuncia represion de parte surena sobre Yun Ki Jin
Pyongyang, 3 de septiembre (ATCC) -- El portavoz del Subcomite de Jovenes y Estudiantes del Comite de la parte Norte para la Ejecucion de la Declaracion Conjunta del 15 de Junio publico el dia 2 una declaracion denunciando a las autoridades titeres del Sur de Corea que el pasado 27 de agosto perpetraron la fechoria fascista de condenar a 3 anos de prision e igual periodo de suspension de calificacion en virtud de la infame "ley de seguridad" a Yun Ki Jin, presidente de la direccion surena de la Alianza Pannacional de Jovenes y Estudiantes por la Reunificacion de la Patria (APJERP).
La banda de Lee Myung Bak hizo arrestarle el pasado mes de febrero y hasta hoy le dio toda clase de dolores espirituales y fisicos y le aplico castigos crueles acusandolo de "entrada secreta y huida", "ingreso en la entidad proenemiga" y "estimulo y elogio".
Le obligo a sufrir durante largo tiempo, separado de sus padres, esposa e hijos, al acriminar sus actividades en aras de la unidad y la reunificacion de la nacion, en virtud de la maligna "ley de seguridad" antihumana que perdio ya hace tiempo su razon de regir, y, no bastandole con esto, le aplico crueles castigos. Esto es una conducta inhumana que pueden hacer solo los crueles fascistas que no tienen en consideracion el elemental derecho, la moral del ser humano ni la reunificacion del pais.
La represion sobre el presidente de la direccion surena de la APJERP da prueba clara de que la banda de Lee es la horda de tiranos fascistas y el colectivo de opositores a la reunificacion que no tiene la minima voluntad de ejecutar la Declaracion Conjunta del 15 de Junio y la Declaracion del 4 de Octubre.
La represion fascista no es el remedio omnipotente del mantenimiento del poder, sino el atajo de la ruina.
El traidor Lee debe actuar con sensatez al ver correctamente la tendencia de la historia nacional a lograr la unidad y la reunificacion entre los coreanos mismos bajo la bandera de la Declaracion Conjunta del 15 de Junio.
Las autoridades titeres surcoreanas deben poner de inmediato fin a las maniobras de represion sobre las entidades del movimiento por la reunificacion y liberar sin demora a Yun y otros jovenes, estudiantes y personalidades arrestados y encarcelados injustamente.
