U.S. Military Presence and Domination over S. Korea Flayed
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- The Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland issued information bulletin No. 941 Monday, 60 years since the U.S. and the puppet warmongers of south Korea concluded the shackling south Korea-U.S. "Tentative Military Agreement" for aggression.
Late in August 1948 the U.S. and the south Korean war-like forces concluded the above-said agreement which stipulates that the U.S. forces shall "organize, train and arm" the south Korean army and the commander of the U.S. forces in south Korea shall "exercise the right to command its operations."
The past six decades since the conclusion of the agreement were crime-woven and shameful years during which south Korea was reduced to an advance and logistic base for provoking a war against the DPRK and the peace and security on the Korean Peninsula were seriously disturbed by the U.S. policy of military presence and domination over south Korea and its war moves, the bulletin noted, and went on:
The U.S. has become all the more frantic in its moves to provoke a new war while reorganizing and bolstering its imperialist aggression forces in south Korea to be a task force for a war of aggression against the DPRK after massively introducing WMDs and ultra-modern military hardware into south Korea. It is also trying to use the puppet army as a shock brigade in the war of aggression against the DPRK while talking about "the transfer of the rights to command the wartime operations."
The Lee group's sycophancy and treachery to serve the U.S. are throwing south Korea deep into an abyss of U.S. colonial enslavement, forcing its people to languish in agony, barring the north-south relations from favorably developing and increasing the danger of a nuclear war with each passing day.
The south Korean people can never get rid of misfortune and pain nor can the Korean nation be free from the tragedy of division and constant danger of a war as long as the U.S. military presence and colonial domination over south Korea go on and the sycophantic and treacherous forces serving the U.S. are allowed to reign there.

Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Start of Songun Leadership Celebrated
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- A song and dance performance was given at the Central Youth Hall on Monday to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the start of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's Songun revolutionary leadership.
It was enjoyed by senior party, army and state officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of armed forces organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, officers and men of the Korean People's Army and working people in the city.
The repertoire included narrative and chorus "Glory to General", female vocal solo "The Leader Has Come to Our Post", dance "At the Spring Site", solo and okryugum ensemble and pangchang "Snow Falls on Road to Front", male vocal solo "General, Here Is the Forefront" and chorus "We Will Win Victory Fluttering the Flag of the Supreme Commander".

Dancing Parties Held by Youth and Students and Members of Women's Union
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- Dancing parties of youth and students took place in various parts of the country Monday on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership.
The participants presented beautiful dances expressing ardent reverence and admiration at Kim Jong Il at the plazas of the Tower of the Juche Idea, the Monument to Party Founding and the April 25 House of Culture and other venues of dancing parties in Pyongyang. They enthusiastically danced to the tune of such songs as "Jeep Is Running on a Long Trip to Front", "Journey of Songun Brings Happiness", "Let's Hold Our General in High Esteem," "Let's Become Army of General" and "Let's Meet Each Other on the Front".
Dancing parties of youth and students also took place in different provincial capitals including Phyongsong of South Phyongan Province, Sinuiju of North Phyongan Province and Hamhung of South Hamgyong Province, cities and counties that day.
A dancing party of members of the Korean Democratic Women's Union took place at the plaza of the Arch of Triumph today on the same occasion.
Prior to the party, Ro Song Sil, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the KDWU, made a speech.
Then its participants danced to the tune of songs, representing profound thanks to Kim Jong Il for having shown great loving care and trust in the Korean women, while making ceaseless long journeys of Songun for the prosperity of the country and the people's happiness.
Celebration Meeting Held by Foreign Crewmen
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held by foreign crewmen at Haeju Port in South Hwanghae Province on Sunday on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership.
Attending the meeting were the captain and crewmen of the Chinese ship "Dongfanghuida".
Speakers at the meeting warmly congratulated Kim Jong Il who has demonstrated the dignity and might of the DPRK to the world with his unique Songun revolutionary leadership.
Under his wise leadership the DPRK has made a great advance in carrying out the cause of socialism, they noted.
They stressed that Kim Jong Il who is developing in depth the Songun idea of President Kim Il Sung, the father of socialist Korea, formulated the Songun policy as a main political mode under socialism and has built up a powerful military force, firmly defending the sovereignty and dignity of the country.

Anti-Japanese Trade Union, Origin of Korean Labor Movement
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- Eighty years have passed since President Kim Il Sung organized the Anti-Japanese Trade Union, the origin of the Korean labor movement.
From the first days after he embarked on the road of revolution in his early years, he attached great significance to awakening and organizing popular masses and made energetic efforts to rally people from all walks of life in an organized way.
The President moved the theatre of his revolutionary activity to Jilin where there were many factories, small and large, at that time but there was not a well-regulated organization for the workers.
It was all that the Hansong Association was organized in the spring of 1927 to help Koreans find job and to promote convenience in their life.
With the analysis of the urgent revolutionary demand and serious lessons of the Korean labor movement, the President put forward a policy of building a revolutionary organization such as an anti-Japanese trade union among Korean workers and dispatched core members of the Anti-Imperialist Youth League to various factories to unite workers in a revolutionary organization.
Basing himself on the preparations, he announced the foundation of the Anti-Japanese Trade Union, a new type of revolutionary mass organization of the Korean working class on August 25, Juche 17 (1928).
With the foundation of the trade union, the working class of Korea came to have its true mass organization and was closely rallied around it and thus discharged its historical mission in the sacred struggle for national and class emancipation under the leadership of the President. The foundation thus marked the origin of building a revolutionary mass organization of the working class.
No sooner had he founded the revolutionary Party after the liberation of the country than he formed the trade union, a unified mass political organization of the working class and wisely led it so that it became the positive supporter to the Party and thorough implementer of the party policy.
Today under the guidance of the Workers' Party of Korea, the might of the trade union has increased incomparably and grown to be single-minded militant ranks and a Songun revolutionary organization which is true to the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.
Great Songun Revolutionary Leadership
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- The great feats of General Secretary Kim Jong Il in Songun leadership hold a brilliant place in the noble chronicle of the Korean revolution pioneered in Mt. Paektu.
On August 25, Juche 49 (1960) Kim Jong Il visited the Guard Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Tank Division 105 of the Korean People's Army. Since the historical day he has made a long journey of Songun leadership without sleeping or resting, lifting national power to the highest level.
He laid down the programme of equipping the whole army with the Juche idea, thus setting up a new milestone in the efforts to strengthen the People's Army as the army of the leader, the army of the party, both in name and in reality while focusing all his efforts on consolidating the foundation of Songun politics from the first days of his leadership of the army.
Having put forth the slogan "Let us fight devotedly for the great leader!", he sturdily prepared all the officers and men of the Korean People's Army as ardent fighters steadfast in the revolutionary outlook on the leader and the main force in accomplishing the cause of the Songun revolution.
Under the care of the Songun commander of extraordinary caliber, the heroic KPA has recorded gallant military exploits, smashing in every step never-ceasing provocations of the U.S. imperialist aggressors in the incidents of the armed spy ship "Pueblo," the large-size spy plane "EC-121," and so on.
He who established the unique Songun political method in the 90s of the last century has increased the military force of the country in every way, strengthening the KPA still further as the vanguard unit devotedly defending the headquarters of the revolution and a powerful army unswerving in ideas and conviction.
He saw to it that the single-minded unity of the revolutionary ranks with the KPA as its core was further solidified and the great unity of the army and the people struck firm root in the whole society. He stood the KPA officers and men at the head of socialist construction, so that a new spirit of fighting and innovation prevailed in the building of a prosperous motherland.
To the unique Songun politics of the brilliant commander of Mt. Paektu the army and people of the DPRK owe their consecutive victories on the anti-imperialist military front whereby to defend the sovereignty and dignity of the country and Korean style socialism with credit and display the grand sight of Juche Korea to the whole world.
The victorious advance of the Korean revolution clearly proves that the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il is the ever-victorous banner of the Korean army and people.

S. Korean Police's Human Rights Abuses Flayed
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification and other civic organizations of south Korea called a press conference outside the building of the south Korean "Human Rights Committee" on August 21 to protest against the police violence.
The speakers at the press conference recalled that the "Human Rights Committee" adopted a decision on recommending the police authorities to lift a measure banning the candlelight rally on August 5 but the security authorities resorted to violent suppression of the above-said candlelight action in defiance of the decision.
They accused the police of unhesitatingly perpetrating such human rights abuses as persecuting the arrestees for the mere reason that they refused to admit their "offences" and committing group violence against them by forcing them to put their signatures to forged papers.
At the end of the press conference representatives of the above-said organization submitted to the "Human Rights Committee" a paper calling for the punishment of the chief of the Police Office and other persons responsible for the violent crackdown.
That day the People's Measure Council against the Total Opening of south Korean Markets to American Beef also called a press conference in Seoul in protest against the puppet police's human rights abuses.
A press release read out at the conference charged that the police, not content with mercilessly trampling down upon the freedom of assembly and demonstration, unhesitatingly committed savage human rights abuses against women arrestees.
It demanded the immediate dismissal of the chief of the Police Office who violated the rights of women and the guarantee of the freedom of assembly and demonstration.
U.S.-S. Korea Joint Military Exercises under Fire
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- The Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration of south Korea issued a statement on August 22 in denunciation of the large-scale Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises staged by the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet warmongers.
The statement said that the joint war maneuvers that kicked off on August 18 across south Korea were the largest-ever military exercises as at least 10,000 U.S. troops and over 400,000 south Korean civilians, officials of institutions and troops were involved in them.
Though the Lee Myung Bak "government" claimed that the war exercises were south Korea-U.S. "annual military drills," they are obviously war maneuvers staged to invade the north according to the "OPLAN 5027", it added.
A war on the Korean Peninsula is bound to lead to the extermination of the Korean nation, the statement noted, adding that the south Korean youth and students would never allow any attempt to bring dark clouds of a nuclear war to hang over this land but struggle for the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea and the conclusion of a peace agreement on the Korean Peninsula.
Bangladeshi President Expresses Support for DPRK
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- The DPRK is a peace-loving country and a military power, and we fully support its government and people in the efforts to build a great prosperous powerful nation and achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea.
Bangladeshi President Iajuddin Ahmed stressed this when meeting the outgoing DPRK ambassador to Bangladesh on Aug. 20.
The president hoped that the two countries would expand and develop cooperation and exchange in various fields including politics, economy and culture and support each other in the international arena in the future.
He also wished the government and the people of the DPRK greater success in the efforts to achieve national reunification and build a great prosperous powerful nation under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
Songun Politics of Korea Lauded Abroad
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- Voices praising the Songun politics of the DPRK are ringing louder from at least 80 countries and international and regional organizations.
General Secretary Kim Jong Il's work "Songun Revolutionary Line Is a Great Revolutionary Line of Our Era and an Ever-Victorious Banner for Our Revolution" was brought out in pamphlet by the Khabarovsk Territory Publishing House in Russia. It was also carried in bulletins and posted on Internet homepages by the Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism, the Switzerland-Korea Committee and the British Association for the Study of the Songun Policy.
Organs of political parties in different countries gave wide publicity to the exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who advanced the unique Songun idea and pioneered the Songun cause of Juche. They were the Bangladesh Communist Party, the People's Unity Party of Tunisia, the Communist Party of Tajikistan, the Hungarian Communist Workers' Party, the Revolutionary Communist Party of Britain (Marxist-Leninist), the New Communist Party of Britain and the Communist Workers' Party of Finland for the Peace and Socialism.
Statements were released in praise of Kim Jong Il's Songun leadership feats by personages from various circles in different countries, including the secretary of the Central Committee of the All-India Forward Bloc, the general secretary of the Party for Unity and Progress of Guinea, the chairman of the Supreme Council of the Socialist Party of Romania, the chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru, the chairman of the Brazilian Working People's General Center, the head of a department of the Political Faculty of University of Damascus in Syria and the chairman of the Congolese National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea.
The Songun politics of the DPRK was also favored by the chairman of the Mexican Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea, the chairman of the National Committee of the Genuine Lumumbist Patriotic Party of Democratic Congo, the secretary general of the European Society for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Malian president, the Nicaraguan president, the chairman of the National Executive Committee of the Polish Communist Party and the chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Bangladesh.
The Nepal Journalist Association adopted a decision on awarding the "Nepalese International Peace Prize" to Kim Jong Il, who is defending peace with Songun, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the DPRK while the Dagestan Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy was inaugurated in Russia.
Feats of Kim Il Sung Highly Praised in Italy
Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) -- The Group of Dialectical Materialists of Italy released the August issue of the magazine La Voce, its organ, as a special issue on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the DPRK.
The magazine said in an article titled "The father of people President Kim Il Sung, founder of socialist Korea" that Kim Il Sung, who embarked on the road of retaking the usurped country in his early years after being born when the Korean people were undergoing the national sufferings, founded the immortal Juche idea and waged the revolutionary struggle, always believing in the strength of the people and depending on it.
He had regarded the idea of believing in the people as in Heaven as his motto all his life, the article said, and went on:
The devotion and love for the people of Kim Il Sung, who had always loved the people and dedicated his all to them, were based on the Juche idea that man is master of everything and decides everything.

Rodong Sinmun denuncia al traidor Lee Myung Bak
Pyongyang, 25 de agosto (ATCC) -- Recientemente el traidor Lee Myung Bak, en las "conversaciones" con el presidente norteamericano Bush de visita en el Sur de Corea, calumnio la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea cuestionando el "problema de derechos humanos" de esta. Posteriormente, en la "Declaracion Conjunta" Sur de Corea-Estados Unidos se afano en la campana de "derechos humanos" contra la RPDC senalando que "es la primera vez que se cuestiona el problema de DDHH del Norte de Corea" y que la "mejora de DDHH" es la "norma y principio".
El renegado titere habla tanto de "DDHH del Norte", lo cual es para denigrar la imagen de la RPDC, inculcar la confrontacion Norte-Sur y alcanzar el criminal proposito de aplastarla en contubernio con las fuerzas extranjeras.
Asi senala el diario Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual del dia 24 y continua:
La RPDC es el mas ventajoso Estado socialista centrado en las masas populares y el sagrado pais de respeto a los derechos humanos donde se garantizan al maximo la soberania y los derechos del pueblo. En la actualidad, el Sur de Corea se va convirtiendose en un lugar privado de DDHH que se asemeja a la epoca de dictadura fascista del pasado.
El que el traidor Lee, junto con las fuerzas foraneas, se entrega sin titubeo al "alboroto de DDHH" anti-RPDC a que hasta sus antecedentes no se atrevieron, muestra a las claras la naturaleza de entreguista proyanqui y siniestro frenetico de confrontacion.
Lee debe poner inmediatamente fin al alboroto de "DDHH" anti-RPDC que fomenta la confrontacion Norte-Sur y obstaculiza la causa de reunificacion de la patria, y actuar con prudencia.
Rodong Sinmun condena "Ulji Freedom Guardian"
Pyongyang, 25 de agosto (ATCC) -- El diario Rodong Sinmun, en su comentario individual fechado 24, senala que el ejercicio militar conjunto "Ulji Freedom Guardian" de gran envergadura que estados Unidos y el Sur de Corea desarrollaron del dia 18 al 22 en la tierra surcoreana fue un peligrosisimo ejercicio de ataque preventivo nuclear contra la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea y continua:
El "Ulji Freedom Guardian" no pasa de ser la reedicion del "Ulji Focus Lens" que venian librando anualmente durante decenas de anos EE.UU. y la capa militar titere del Sur de Corea. Incorpora hasta los organos administrativos del Sur de Corea para "pasar revista general" a los preparativos de la guerra de agresion a la RPDC.
Los belicistas internos y externos adoptaron la nueva forma operacional segun la cual esta vez el ejercito titere surcoreano "juega el rol directivo" y las tropas norteamericanas le brindan "apoyo" y anunciaron hipocritamente que el presente es un "ejercicio defensivo para hacer frente a la devolucion del mando operacional en el tiempo de guerra". Pero tal anuncio no pasa de ser una sofisteria.
Lo que no se puede pasar por alto es que el ejercicio provocativo coincidio con el tiempo con que al portar el problema "DDHH", EE.UU. obstaculiza la marcha de las conversaciones a 6 bandas y la ejecucion de los acuerdos. EE.UU. no puede eludir jamas su responsabilidad criminal de agravar la situacion de la Peninsula Coreana y de detener la tendencia de la epoca al dialogo y la paz al librar "Ulji Freedom Guardian".
Este ejercicio militar es producto indispensable de la politica antinacional y belica de confrontacion intercoreana de la banda de Lee Myung Bak del Sur de Corea quien se adhiere de modo activo a la temeraria politica norteamericana de agresion al Norte.
No son tolerables tales maniobras provocativas de EE.UU. y de Sur de Corea que al desafiar a la corriente de la epoca, exacerban la confrontacion y la tension y perturban el ambiente del dialogo y la paz.
Consolidaremos con mas firmeza el disuasivo autodefensivo bajo la bandera del Songun contra las recrudescentes maniobras de guerra de agresion de las fuerzas internas y externas y frustraremos con las pertinentes contramedidas todas las provocaciones. Los belicistas deben actuar con prudencia.
