He also said that they sincerely congratulate the Korean people on many successes made in various fields under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea headed by General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
Vietnam fully supports the Korean people in the efforts to achieve the reunification of the country in the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, he said.

Japan's Attempt to Grab Tok Islet Rebuffed

Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- Some days ago the Japanese authorities decided to write Tok Islet as part of the Japanese territory in the "new teaching guidelines" for primary and middle schools of Japan and officially announced it to the world.
In this regard a spokesman for the History Society of the DPRK made public a statement Tuesday which said: This clearly proves that the moves of Japan to grab Tok Islet, part of inviolable territory of Korea, have reached the phase of its implementation.
The history testifies to the above-said fact.
Korea was the first country that discovered the islet and annexed it to its territory before proclaiming it to the public at home and abroad. It has also exercised the dominion over the islet through generations.
Historical materials proving this fact have been recently unearthed in different places one after another.
Such being a hard fact, the Japanese authorities have become desperate in insisting on their far-fetched assertion that Tok Islet belongs to territory of Japan. Not content with this, they are working hard to convince even the pupils of the primary and middle schools of this claim.
Japan is historically known to have looted a lot of things from other countries, while telling the lie that they belong to it.
The aim sought by Japan in tampering with history and persistently spreading the lie that other's territory belongs to it is to grab Tok Islet at present and the whole of Korea in the future and, furthermore, reinvade the rest of Asia.
The Japanese authorities had better stop at once their brigandish act to grab Tok Islet.
The Korean people will never allow Japan to realize its anachronistic ambition for overseas aggression but mete out a resolute and merciless punishment to it in case it violates the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK even a bit.

Study-while-working Educational System

Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- There are two kinds of educational systems in the DPRK -- the regular educational system and the study-while-working educational system.
University-level factory colleges, farm colleges and fishermen's colleges have been established in different parts of the country so that working people may study after a day's work.
The study-while-working educational system is superior one which can train a lot of competent technical personnel equipped with theory and practical ability.
The first university-level factory college was founded in July of Juche 40 (1951) during the Korean War.
Since then many factory, farm and fishermen's colleges have been established across the country.
The colleges are fully furnished with the up-to-date educational equipment and experimental and practical apparatuses and constantly improve their educational contents and methods in accordance with the requirements of the developing era so as to bring up lots of able technical personnel.
Teachers organize and operate on-the-spot lessons for the students working far away from colleges.
Most of graduates from the colleges have grown to be officials of industrial establishments and co-op farms, persons with academic degrees or titles, labor heroes and deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly.
The past decades have witnessed that college graduates and students have created tens of thousands of inventions and technical innovations.
The government has directed deep attention to laying material foundations of the colleges to give fuller play to the advantage of the study-while-working educational system.

U.S. Bellicose Forces Denounced for Falsifying Facts

Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- The commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces in the Pacific let loose a spate of balderdash in a bid to hold the DPRK chiefly accountable for the military tension, thus falsifying facts. Minju Joson today observes this in a signed commentary.
    It goes on:
It is none other than the U.S. that is chiefly to blame for having escalated the military tension on the Korean Peninsula and the rest of the world.
The U.S. has massively deployed modern military hardware in south Korea and in its vicinity and staged various forms of military maneuvers, getting on the nerves of the DPRK, its dialogue partner, and vitiating the atmosphere of dialogue and negotiations.
The U.S. is totally depending upon its military forces in the execution of its foreign policy, thereby seriously disturbing or threatening the world peace and stability.
The DPRK and the U.S. are now facing an important political task to realize the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and put a definite end to the hostile relations that have lasted for several decades. The key to fulfilling this task is for the U.S. to completely roll back its hostile policy towards the DPRK.
The U.S. is now involved in the talks with the DPRK due to the principled and just demand of the DPRK and the international community but it is still keen to threaten and blackmail the DPRK militarily and increase the pressure upon it.
The nuclear armed forces of the DPRK serve as means for self-defence as they are aimed at protecting the security of the country and nation from the moves of the hostile forces to stifle it. The U.S. ever-escalating military threat and moves for aggression would only compel the DPRK to go on with bolstering its powerful deterrent forces for self-defence and it is its right to do so.
The U.S. would be well advised to make a right decision, cogitating about the serious consequences to be entailed by its high-handed military policy. The settlement of the problem depends on the attitude of the U.S.

Struggle for Peace against War Called for

Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- It is the unanimous desire and will of the fellow countrymen to remove the danger of war from the Korean Peninsula and ensure its durable peace.
Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this in a bylined article.
The Korean people suffered from the war imposed upon them by the United States which put south Korea under its military occupation and the puppet warmongers, its followers, and have been exposed to the constant danger of war for more than half a century since the ceasefire, the article notes, and goes on:
In order to remove the root cause of war and achieve durable peace on the Korean Peninsula all Koreans at home and abroad should intensify the struggle to frustrate the war moves of the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean warmongers, holding high the banner of peace against war. It is an effective way for defending peace on the peninsula to struggle for peace against war.
Both the north and the south are required to struggle for peace against war.
The main target of the struggle is the U.S. anachronistic hostile policy of aggression toward the DPRK and its moves to start a war against the latter.
The above-said policy diametrically runs counter to the present trend of the times towards dialogue and peace and the desire and demand of the Korean nation as it is aimed at stifling the sovereign DPRK and dominating the whole of Korea.
Without putting an end to the above-said U.S. policy and its war moves it is impossible to achieve durable peace on the peninsula nor it is possible to think of national security.
It is the main task of the struggle for peace against war to frustrate the campaign of the south Korean puppets in league with foreign forces to launch a war of aggression against the north.
The above-said struggle represents an acute confrontation between the forces of war of aggression and the forces defending peace. The key to winning victory in the confrontation is for all Koreans to wage an uninterrupted dynamic struggle for peace against war in firm unity, convinced of the victory in their cause, concludes the article.

Crackdown upon Workers Censured in S. Korea

Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- The Teachers Union of south Korea issued a statement on July 24, accusing the Lee Myung Bak "government" of unreasonable crackdown upon the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU).
Recalling that the Lee Myung Bak group issued warrants of arrest for Chairman Ri Sok Haeng and other core members of the KCTU, the statement denounced the issue of warrants as a deliberate political repression aimed to enforce such pro-business policies as privatization of public sectors and "grand canal project."
All the workers in south Korea will stage a more vigorous struggle in face of the "government's" violation of human rights and democracy, the statement said.

S. Korean Authorities' Crackdown upon People Condemned

Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea issued a joint statement on July 23 condemning the south Korean authorities for their brutal crackdown upon patriotic people.
Accusing the south Korean authorities of cracking down upon the patriotic struggle of south Koreans against the treacherous and anti-reunification Lee Myung Bak regime, the statement said this proves that the present regime is reviving the fascist dictatorship dating back to the eras of Syngman Rhee, Park Chung-Hee and Chun Doo Hwan.
It branded the Lee regime as an unpopular puppet government keen to meet only the interests for the U.S. imperialists, the Japanese monopoly capitalists and south Korean big businesses after turning south Korea into a hell on earth.
The statement vehemently denounced the Lee regime for its brutal crackdown and strongly urged the south Korean authorities to release the arrested people at once.

War Victory Day Celebrated

Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- A meeting and film show took place in Pakistan, round-table talks in Austria and a lecture in Uganda on July 22 and 23 on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.
Mohammad Aslam Nagi, secretary general of the Lahore Branch of the Pakistan-Korea Friendship Association, said in his speech at the meeting that July 27 is the historic day the Korean people defeated the United States which boasted of being "the strongest" in the world.
The DPRK has an invincible army that has grown to be a-match-for-a hundred army under the care of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and the might of the single-minded unity of the leader, the party and the popular masses, he added.
Oliver Jonischkeit, secretary of the Left Bloc of the Austrian Trade Union Federation, said at the round-table talks that the United States still keeps huge armed forces in south Korea, posing a threat to the DPRK and blocking the reunification of Korea.
He expressed solidarity with the Korean people in their struggle for the reunification of the country, urging the U.S. to stop the moves against the reunification of Korea and withdraw its troops from south Korea without delay.
Justin Keyune, chief of the Group for the Study of Songun Politics of Kampala Coloro Higher Middle School of Uganda, noted in the lecture that the day of victory of the DPRK in the war is significant not only for the Korean people but for the world progressives.
Noting that the DPRK is now demonstrating before the world its might as a political and military power under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il, he stressed that the Korean people would win only victory in the future, too, under his leadership.
The participants of the film show watched a Korean film showing the invincible might of the heroic Korean People's Army.

Korean People's Struggle Supported by Egyptian Figures

Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- Egyptian figures issued statements on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.
Wahid Al Uksouri, chairman of the Misr Arab Socialist Party of Egypt, in his statement issued on July 23 said that in the last Korean war the young DPRK defeated the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being "the strongest" in the world, adding that this takes distinguished place in the human history of war.
Recalling that President Kim Il Sung powerfully aroused the army and people to the victory in the war with his outstanding military strategy and tactics and wise leadership, he said that this encouraged the world oppressed people in their struggle for national liberation.
He expressed full support to the Korean people in their struggle, pointing out that they have firmly defended the sovereignty and security of the country and vigorously struggled to achieve the reunification of the country under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.
Siham Ahmad Mugahed, chairman of the Egypt-Korea Friendship Association, in his statement issued on July 21 highly appreciated the immortal exploits the President performed by winning the victory in the war, adding that the three charters for national reunification put forward by the President and formulated by Kim Jong Il serve as important guidelines and an immortal banner which the Korean nation should consistently hold fast to till Korea is reunified.
He expressed the belief that thanks to the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il and the three charters for national reunification a reunified country, great, prosperous and powerful, would emerge on the Korean Peninsula in the near future.
