Russian Dancing Troupe Gives Its Premiere in Hamhung
Hamhung, July 13 (KCNA) -- The State Academy Beryozka Dancing Troupe of Russia Named after N.S. Nadezhdina on a visit to the DPRK gave its premiere at the Hamhung Grand Theatre in South Hamgyong Province on Sunday.
The repertoire of the performance which raised its curtain with chorus "Song of General Kim Jong Il" included colorful numbers representing the Russian people's love for the country and optimistic and diligent life.
Female group dance "Beryozka" and mixed group dance "In Memory of the Defenders of the Motherland" which recollects the feats performed by soldiers who bravely fought against the aggressors during the last patriotic war deeply impressed the audience with their perfect ensemble, skillful dances and refined rhythms.
Also put on the stage were songs and dances "The Evening in the Suburbs of Moscow," "Katyusha" and "Kalinka," dance suite "This Happened Long Ago," comic dance "Old Bachelors" and trio dance "Waggish Lover."
The performers presented song and dance "Flower-Strewn Brink of Marsh" from the revolutionary opera "Tell the Story, Forest!" to be acclaimed by the audience.
The performance ended with chorus of Korean song "The General of Korea."

Tonghae Fishery Institute of DPRK
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- The Tonghae (East Sea) Fishery Institute is a scientific research centre which contributes to the development of the fishing industry in the country.
The institute, formed in February Juche 35 (1946), is located in Wonsan City, Kangwon Province. It has made big achievements by deepening researches into the marine conditions and fish migration in the East Sea of Korea, sea change, advanced fishing implements, fishing methods and fishing operation, etc.
It has recently worked out an analysis map of fishing grounds according to the distribution chart of the sea water temperature envisaged at present and in future. Basing itself on it, the institute has made new fishing implements to catch migratory fish which are useful in fishing activities while developing a fishing ground forecasting system.
The newly developed fishing ground forecasting system has been introduced in units of the fishery sector in the eastern coastal area, thus raising the productivity.
It has researched and perfected a method of breeding rainbow trout in sea to be applied to production and informed the fishing units of the sedentary fish in the East Sea and its resources, making it possible to protect the marine resources.
It is also making stuffed specimens of various kinds of fish by new method for education.
Ever Flourishing Mass Art
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- The working people of all strata of the DPRK are taking an active part in art activities as creators and enjoyers of art.
It is a precious fruition of the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il that the flower garden of Juche art is flourishing daily across the country.
His guidance to a performance of an art group of Samjiyon County in July, Juche 65(1976) marked a historical milestone in bringing a radical turn in the development of mass art in the country.
Saying that the activities of art groups must under all circumstances follow the anti-Japanese guerrilla style, he elucidated the essence of the Korean-style mass art activities and indicated detailed orientation and ways for carrying through the policy of popularizing art, drawing the masses into it.
The anti-Japanese guerrilla-style art activities expounded by him is mass art activities for giving militant and mobile performances of life-like and realistic stage pieces with simple popular musical instruments, not wedded to time and place, and amusing performances by actively developing talents of the masses.
Over the last three decades and more since then the Korean people have properly carried forward the revolutionary tradition established in the days of the anti-Japanese armed struggle and, with it as the model, briskly conducted mass art activities.
The mass art of the DPRK has reached a remarkably high stage in the Songun era.
General Secretary Kim Jong Il has always paid deep attention to mass art activities, inspecting the front and giving on-the-spot guidance.
At posts, he listened to songs of soldiers and, at factories and villages, he saw performances of workers' art groups and masque dance of peasants. The soldiers and people all over the country have grown to be true heroes of art.
Busy as he was in Songun leadership, he appreciated performances given by art groups of servicemen's families and pushed wives of servicemen to the foreground as second ranks of Songun buglers who have created the model of mass art in the Songun era.
Under his loving care servicemen's wives have lifted the mass art of the Songun era to a new height by their revolutionary and militant performances. And, in this course, they have grown to be admirable "composers and scriptwriters", "instrumentalists" and "actresses".

Implementation of Three Principles of National Reunification Called for
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- The famous work "Let Us Struggle Resolutely to Implement the Three Principles of National Reunification" authored by General Secretary Kim Jong Il on July 14, Juche 61 (1972), serves as an important work as it clearly explains the fundamental matters to be always held fast to in adhering to the three principles of national reunification--independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity--set forth by President Kim Il Sung and clarified through the July 4 joint statement.
Rodong Sinmun Monday says this in a signed article.
The work deals with the issues of struggling to force the U.S. troops to pull out of south Korea under the uplifted banner of independence and check and foil the Japanese militarists' moves for reinvasion, taking practical measures to defuse the military tension in Korea and remove the source of a war and achieving great national unity irrespective of ideology, ism and system and so on.

The work has instilled into the fellow countrymen the faith in sure victory in the struggle for national reunification and powerfully encouraged them in their nationwide patriotic struggle to implement the President's line and policy of independent reunification over the past more than three decades.

U.S. Chiefly to Blame for Arms Race
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- The U.S. loudmouthed "peace" and "threat" are, in essence, nothing but a synonym for bolstering up its nuclear armed forces and expanding its armament. The U.S. can never cover up its true colors as the mastermind of the global arms race and the harasser of global peace and security.
Rodong Sinmun Monday observes this in a signed commentary.

With nothing can the U.S. justify its moves to build the missile defense system (MD) and its rhetoric about them is not worthy of even a passing note.
What is clear is that the U.S. is keen to build missile shields against other countries, prompted by its wild ambition for supremacy, and this is sparking off a global arms race. The U.S. deserves to come under world public fire at all times for being a mastermind of a global arms race.
By nature the U.S. is under the unavoidable biggest obligation to prevent the global arms race. It fostered and escalated the arms race in the era of the Cold War in a bid to put other countries under its control with a nuclear edge and gravely threatened and wrecked peace. With the Cold War coming to an end and the U.S. finding no military rival, it should not have pursued the arms buildup. There is the danger of new arms race, nuclear confrontation in the world and the situation is getting tenser due to the U.S. imperialists' policy for beefing up nuclear armed forces and expanding armament.
The U.S. should abandon its wild ambition to seize other countries and dominate the world through its highhanded military actions.
The U.S. bellicose forces will not escape international isolation and self- destruction, should they persistently pursue arms buildup and a war of aggression, going against the trend of the present times toward disarmament and peace and the wishes of humankind.
66th Candlelight Action Staged in Seoul
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- The 66th candlelight action was staged in Seoul on July 12 under the sponsorship of the People's Measure Council against the Total Opening of south Korean Markets to American Beef.
It was participated in by more than 50,000 children, old persons, workers, peasants, students, men of culture and art and religionists and members of civic and social organizations.
As citizens of all strata of south Korea were barred from holding a candlelight rally by the action taken by the security authorities that day, they staged a demonstration with candlelight in their hands.
The demonstrators conducted information services in everyplace they passed, chanting slogans "Lee Myung Bak, step down!", "Disband Grand National Party!" and "Candlelight struggle is sure to triumph!" Then they met with members of the peoples' measure council who have been on a sit-in strike in tents in front of the Jogye temple for several consecutive days.
The demonstration went on, supporting the hunger sit-in strike of the unionists of the Yonhap News launched in protest against traitor Lee Myung Bak's suppression of media.
Upon arriving near the plaza of the city office again at the end of the demonstration that day, its participants demanded the police lift its cordon blocking the plaza. They carried on their street march till the dawn of July 13.
Dozens of vehicles staged a vehicle demonstration in different places of the city on July 12 with their headlights on while Catholics held a "mass on the situation" to denounce traitor Lee Myung Bak and visited the Jogye temple to encourage those on a sit-in strike.
Lee Myung Bak's Suppression of Religionists under Fire
Pyongyang July 14 (KCNA) -- International Christian organizations sent letters of protest to traitor Lee Myung Bak on July 2 in denunciation of the indiscriminate repression of religionists who participated in the candlelight actions against the import of American beef.
Referring to the fact that the police authorities cracked down upon the peaceful candlelight demonstration staged by citizens from all walks of life against the American beef import on June 28, the letters expressed deep concern and regret at it.
Noting that the people should be provided with the basic right to freely express their demand for life, the letters urged Lee to thoroughly ensure the security of citizens and stop hurling the riot police to the scenes of the peaceful candlelight actions.
Exploits of Great Men Highly Praised
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- Remembrance meetings and film shows were held by the Sogd Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Tajikistan and the Indian Institute for Foreign Policy Studies on July 4 and 7 on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung.
Speeches were made at the meetings.
Mirzoyeva, first secretary of the Gafurov District, Sogd Region, Committee of the Communist Party of Tajikistan, said that Kim Il Sung, great revolutionary, provided the undying guiding principle for the human cause of independence by founding the Juche idea and the Songun idea, adding that the ideas are more broadly studied and disseminated on a worldwide scale for their truth and validity and serve as guidelines for the struggle of the people of many countries aspiring after independence and socialism.
A member of the Sogd Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Tajikistan noted that General Secretary Kim Jong Il has steadily developed in depth the Songun idea put forward by the President and has successfully applied it to socialist construction of the DPRK.
J. K. Patel, director of the Indian institute, stated that Kim Il Sung is the steadfast anti-imperialist revolutionary and the benevolent father of the people, adding that the DPRK would shed its brilliant rays as a great prosperous powerful nation before the world in the near future as it is led by Kim Jong Il carrying forward the revolutionary cause of the President.
The participants of the film shows watched Korean films dealing with the immortal revolutionary exploits of the peerlessly great man.

Pyongyang, 14 de julio (ATCC) -- Tuvieron lugar del 10 al 12 del mes en curso en Beijing las conversaciones de los jefes de delegaciones de 6 partes.
En la ocasion fue apreciado el estado de la ejecucion del Acuerdo del 3 de Octubre de 2007, logrado un acuerdo para su conclusion exitosa y aprobado el comunicado.
Segun el documento, de acuerdo con el principio de la "accion vs. accion" la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea decidio esforzarse por llevar al termino la neutralizacion de sus instalaciones nucleares paralelamente con que las 5 bandas concluyan hasta octubre la compensacion economica correspondiente a un millon de toneladas del aceite pesado.
Tambien, segun la Declaracion Conjunta del 19 de Septiembre de 2005 cuya meta es la realizacion de la desnuclearizacion de toda la Peninsula Coreana acordaron crear un organismo para verificar la ejecucion de la obligacion de cada parte en el marco de 6 partes.
Kim Jong Il recibe presente de conjunto de danza "Beriozka"
Pyongyang, 14 de julio (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il recibio presente que le dirigiera el Conjunto de Danza Academica Nacional "Beriozka" N. S. Nadezhdina de Rusia, de visita en Corea.
La jefa del conjunto de danza, Mira Koltsova, lo entrego a un funcionario coreano.
Ademas, fueron entregados los presentes de ella misma y el director de este conjunto.
Rodong Sinmun conmemora la publicacion de obra de Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, 14 de julio (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il hizo publica el 14 de julio del 61 (1972) de la Era Juche la obra maestra "Luchemos resueltamente para materializar los tres principios de la reunificacion de la patria".
Esta es la obra programatica que dilucida claramente los problemas fundamentales a ser acentuados permanentemente en materializar los tres principios de la reunificacion de la patria: la independencia, la reunificacion pacifica y la gran unidad nacional, presentados por el Presidente Kim Il Sung y expuestos a traves de la Declaracion Conjunta del 4 de Julio.
Asi senala el periodico Rodong Sinmun en un articulo individual del dia 14 y continua:
En la obra estan aclarados el problema de hacer retirar a las tropas norteamericanas del Sur de Corea y de luchar por frustrar las maniobras de nueva agresion del militarismo japones bajo la bandera de la independencia, el de tomar las medidas practicas para aliviar la tension militar en Corea y eliminar la fuente de la guerra y el de lograr la gran unidad nacional por encima de las diferencias de ideas, ideales y regimenes.
Durante mas de 30 anos pasados la obra infundio a los coreanos la fe en la realizacion cierta de la reunificacion de la patria y los estimulo energicamente a la lucha patriotica pannacional por materializar la linea y la orientacion del Presidente en materia de reunificacion independiente.
Hoy, para la nacion coreana la lucha por materializar los tres principios arriba mencionados es precisamente la lucha por defender y ejecutar la Declaracion Conjunta del 15 de Junio y la Declaracion del 4 de Octubre.
Como ensenan estas dos declaraciones todos los coreanos deben luchar energicamente por lograr con la cooperacion nacional la reunificacion independiente, la paz y la prosperidad rechazando las fuerzas foraneas agresivas bajo la bandera de "Entre nosotros, los connacionales".
Tambien, no deben tolerar ni en lo minimo a todas las maniobras que resultan contraproducentes con ambas declaraciones y con la corriente de la epoca de reunificacion independiente.
La veracidad y la vitalidad de los tres principios en cuestion se verifican mas claramente con el paso de los dias,
La causa de reunificacion de la nacion coreana debe lograrse sin falta basandose en estos principios.
Seul: 66o lucha con velas encendidas
Pyongyang, 14 de julio (ATCC) -- Bajo el auspicio del Consejo del Pueblo de Medidas contra la importacion total de la carne de res de Estados Unidos, tuvo lugar el dia 12 en Seul la 66a lucha con velas prendidas.
Participaron mas de 50 mil personas, entre otras, ninos, viejos, obreros, campesinos, estudiantes, hombres de cultura, artistas, religiosos y miembros de las entidades civiles y sociales.
Ese dia, los ciudadanos surcoreanos de distintos estratos no pudieron efectuar el mitin con velas encendidas, debido a las maniobras de obstaculo de las autoridades de seguridad publica. Asi pasaron a una marcha con velas encendidas.
Desarrollaron por doquier actividades propagandisticas gritando las consignas de "!Fuera Lee Myung Bak!", "!Disolved al Gran Partido Nacional!" y "!Triunfan las velas encendidas!" Luego, se encontraron con los miembros del Consejo del Pueblo de Medidas, quienes despliegan durante varios dias ante el templo budico Jogye una huelga con brazos caidos en tiendas de campana.
Los manifestantes siguieron la marcha apoyando la huelga de hambre de los gremiales de "Yonhap News" contra la represion del traidor Lee Myung Bak sobre la prensa.
Terminada la marcha, los manifestantes volvieron a la explanada frente a la municipalidad, donde continuaron hasta la madrugada del dia 13 la marcha callejera demandando a la policia levantar el bloqueo a la explanada.
Por otra parte, el dia 12 en distintas partes de la ciudad decenas de vehiculos realizaron manifestacion con faros encendidos y los catolicos?realizaron la "misa sobre la situacion" contra el traidor Lee Myung Bak y fueron al templo en cuestion para estimular a los participantes en la huelga con brazos caidos.
