Kim Jong Il Gives Field Guidance to Several Units in Kanggye City
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to several units in Kanggye City.
The first leg of his guidance was the Kanggye Post Office, a revolutionary site.
This is the significant place where President Kim Il Sung sent a telegram reading "Safe arrival at Kanggye" to his parents in Badaogou on March 20, 1923 during the 250-mile journey for learning he was making from Badaogou to Mangyongdae at the age of 11.
He looked round the historic buildings standing as they were and historic relics, being briefed on them by a lecturer.
The next leg of his guidance was the Jagang Provincial Institute of Forest Science and an experimental nursery of the Jagang Provincial Industrial Forest Office.
He acquainted himself in detail with scientific researches and cultivation of saplings, making the rounds of the exterior and interior of the institute and nursery including an arboretum, a tissue culture room and an experimental nursery.
He highly appreciated the merits the scientists, technicians and workers of the institute and the nursery have performed by doing something great for the prosperity and development of the country, noting that they have cultivated a lot of saplings of good species suited to the climatic and soil conditions of Jagang Province by solving scientific and technological problems on their own through their full play to wisdom and energies.
He said that afforestation is of weighty importance in increasing the nation's forest resources and making the land beautiful and put forward the tasks to be carried out by the institute and the nursery.
It is a very important work to develop the forestry in the province with many mountains, he said, underlining the need for the province to make a comprehensive and effective use of mountains to meet the demand for forest products needed for production and construction with its own forest resources.
Then he moved on to the Kanggye Foodstuff Factory. He dropped in at the room devoted to the history of the factory to hear about history of its development. He learned in detail about the technical equipment and production at the factory, going round its production processes.
Watching various kinds of tasty and nutritious foodstuffs being churned out from the streamlined process, he said that officials and workers in Kanggye City have built a modern foodstuff factory with all production processes which meet the scientific and technological requirements, a factory of which they should be proud, in the wake of modernizing the essential foodstuff factory. He highly praised them for their feats.
He stressed that when factories carry out the technological updating substantially, take thorough measures for the supply of raw materials and operate themselves on the principle of profitability the way the Kanggye Foodstuff Factory does, it is possible to rapidly improve the people's diet.
He put forward the tasks to be fulfilled by the factory, underscoring the need for the factory to spruce up itself as a model and keep the production going at a high rate so as to positively contribute to the livelihood of the citizens.
He also visited the Kanggye Unha Clothing Factory.
Noting that the issue of clothing is an important matter in settling the issues of clothing, food and housing, he expressed the expectation and belief that the workers of the factory would bring about a great turn in the production of consumer goods by more dynamically effecting a signal surge in the light industry.
He provided field guidance to the Kanggye Chicken Giblets Soup Restaurant.
The production of a lot of meat, eggs and milk products at the stock-breeding centres including the chicken farms, duck farms and goat farms built in the city has brought about a radical change in the diet of the citizens, he said, wishing the people in the province a more bountiful and happier life.
Then he went up the balcony of the restaurant and commanded a bird's-eye view of the city, recollecting unforgettable days of the "Arduous March," the forced march.
The people in the province turned all the cities and villages into a land of bliss by their own efforts by working hard in a do-or-die spirit in firm unity under the uplifted red flag of the revolution in so difficult period when the country was undergoing the most rigorous ordeals due to the moves of the imperialists to isolate and stifle it, he noted, adding that the province which proved in practice the validity of the ideology, system and cause of the DPRK remains a beacon of hope powerfully encouraging the people to carve out a rosy future.
The people in the province, the creators of the Kanggye spirit and brave pioneers of the new era, are performing world-startling miracles and feats day by day with the same spirit and stamina as they did in the past, he noted, stressing that this is a striking demonstration of the inexhaustible mental power of the Korean people rallied close around the Party.
He expressed the expectation and belief that the officials, party members and other working people in the province including Kanggye City would continue to admirably play the vanguard role in an all-out charge to build a great prosperous powerful nation by giving fuller play to the Kanggye spirit.

Greetings to Belorussian President
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, today sent a message of greetings to Belorussian President Aleksandr Grigoriyevich Lukashenko on the occasion of the national day of Belarus.
Expressing the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would grow stronger in the future, Kim in the message wished him greater success in his responsible work for the prosperity of the country and the welfare of people.
Greetings to Rwandan President
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, sent a message of greetings to Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda, on June 30 on the occasion of its national day.
Expressing the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would grow strong in various fields in the mutual interests, Kim in the message wished the President greater success in his work for peace, stability and socio-economic development of the country.
Independence Day of Venezuela Observed
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place at the Chollima House of Culture on Thursday to mark the independence day of Venezuela.
Present there were Paek Yong Ho, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who is chairman of the DPRK-Venezuela Friendship Association, members of the association and working people in Pyongyang.
A message of greetings to the Venezuelan president was adopted there after a congratulatory speech made by the chairman of the association.
Russian Ambassador Arranges Film Show
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Russian Ambassador to the DPRK Valery Sukhinin arranged a film show on Thursday.
Present there on invitation were officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs including its Vice-Minister Kung Sok Ung and diplomatic envoys and staff members of various embassies and staff members of missions of international organizations here.
On hand were staff members of the Russian embassy.
Prior to the film show, the Russian ambassador made a speech.

Doctorate in Economics Awarded to Korean in China
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Doctorate in economics of the DPRK was awarded to Kim Il, Korean teacher at Yanbian University of China.

Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- A film show and a reception were held at the DPRK embassy in Ulan Bator on June 27 on the occasion of 20th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's visit to Mongolia.

Immortal Exploits in Building Juche-based Party
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Today marks the 78th anniversary of the formation of the Society for Rallying Comrades, the first party organization, by President Kim Il Sung.
The Korean people are deeply looking back on his imperishable feats in founding the Workers' Party of Korea, the headquarters and guide of the revolution, and strengthening and developing it, on the significant day when the first party organization, the seed and prototype of the glorious WPK, was formed.
The President who set out on the revolutionary path in his early years laid down the idea and theory of building a Juche-based party and led the Korean revolution to victory by founding it.
The founding of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) by the President in Huadian on October 17, Juche 15 (1926) was the starting point of the foundation of a revolutionary party of new type.
The Anti-Imperialist Youth League was born and the Young Communist League of Korea was formed in the course of advancing the revolution on the basis of the programme of the DIU and in reliance upon the hardcore which it had begun to train.
In the days when the Young Communist League of Korea was staging the revolutionary movement as a powerful vanguard organization under his guidance, the mistakes made by the preceding generation were overcame, a new ground was broken in winning over the masses and in the art of leadership and a mass foundation for founding a party was laid.
The President laid the ideological foundation for the founding of a party by setting out the guiding idea of the Korean revolution in "The Path of the Korean Revolution", his historical report to the Kalun Meeting held from June 30 to July 2, 1930.
The President set forth the unique policy of party building to found the party by setting up basic party organizations first with passionate young fighters of the new generation as the backbone and then steadily expanding and strengthening them.
Having thus set out the guiding idea, rallied the hardcore, laid the mass foundation and paved a new way of founding a party, the President formed the Society for Rallying Comrades, the first party organization, in Kalun on July 3, Juche 19 (1930).
Realizing in his early years the philosophical truth of revolution that a victory was possible only when there were comrades sharing the same idea, he named the first party organization the Society for Rallying Comrades.
@The society formed in the modest classroom of Jinmyong School in Kalun has turned into the invincible Workers' Party of Korea today.
Endless Stream of People Visit Monument to Victorious Pochonbo Battle
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- An endless stream of servicepersons of the Korean People's Army, people from all walks of life and school youth and children are visiting the Monument to the Victorious Pochonbo Battle in Hyesan City, Ryanggang Province.
This eternal monument conveys the revolutionary exploits President Kim Il Sung performed by leading the anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory.
The monument unveiled on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the victory in the Pochonbo battle consists of the President's statue standing before a tower depicting a flag fluttering in the wind and groups of sculptures around its pedestal.

Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The world progressive people should clearly see through the danger of the imperialists' bourgeois ideological and cultural poisoning and intensify the struggle to frustrate it. Rodong Sinmun today urges this in a signed article.
Their ideological and cultural poisoning is a means for aggression and interference and a vicious method to benumb the sound idea and consciousness of the people and degrade them with the reactionary bourgeois ideological poison, it says, and goes on:
The danger of the imperialists' above-said poisoning lies in that it is aimed at benumbing the people's consciousness of independence and working class awareness, rendering their cultural and emotional life corrupt, degrading them and obliterating national cultures of other countries and thereby stamping out the national identity among the people.

Lee Myung Bak Group's Fascist Suppression Flayed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The Confederation of Trade Unions, the Teachers Union and the Headquarters of the Movement for the Withdrawal of the U.S. Forces in south Korea issued statements on June 29 and 30 denouncing the fascist suppression by the Lee Myung Bak dictatorial regime.
The confederation in a statement denounced traitor Lee Myung Bak for fully revealing his true colors as a dictator by resorting to violent suppression, finding it hard to break the will of the people opposed to the import of American beef with all sorts of deceptions and swindles.
The statement noted that the police violence against the participants in the candlelight demonstrations is nothing different from the bestial atrocities perpetrated by paratroopers who turned Kwangju into a sea of blood.
With no brutal crackdown can the Lee Myung Bak group quell the fighting spirit of the people, the statement said, warning that the violent suppression would only precipitate its destruction.

Candlelight Action Unabated in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- A candlelight action against the import of American beef was staged in Seoul on July 1 under the sponsorship of the south Korean Catholic Priests' Association for Justice.
Participating in it were catholic priests and nuns, citizens of all social standings and "national assemblymen" from opposition parties, at least 20,000 in all.
The 55th candlelight rally took place at the plaza in front of the city office.
At the rally speakers accused the chief of the Supreme Public Prosecutor's Office of labeling the participants in the candlelight actions "unsavory forces". They called for struggling to the last against the authorities' violent suppression.
They charged that nothing is crazier than traitor Lee Myung Bak's pressure upon the people to eat beef from mad cattle.
Lee Myung Bak and the security authorities should stop cracking down upon the candlelight actions of people, they demanded, calling upon all the people to turn out in the struggle to wrest an apology from Lee.
At the end of the rally its participants staged a demonstration.
Kim Il Sung Remembered
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- A film show was held in Russia and a remembrance meeting in Ethiopia on June 11 and 25 on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il Sung.
Speeches were made there.
The manager of the Russian "Mark" Bearing Company said that the film show provided an opportunity to know better that the President regarded the children as "kings" of the country and showed all sorts of loving care and benevolence for them.
The issue of the education of the rising generation has been successfully solved in the DPRK thanks to the President and General Secretary Kim Jong Il who have always paid deep attention to the issue, he said, adding that the future of the DPRK is in safe hands as the children are growing up to be pillars of the country.

Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Jesus Antonio Carlos Hernandez, general secretary of the Central Committee of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico, issued a statement on June 24 on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il Sung.

Se mostro muy satisfecho de que esta zona con larga historia se mantiene en su estado original y se torna mas abundosa en la epoca del Songun (priorizacion militar).

A continuacion, dirigio sobre el terreno la Central Electrica Kunmin de Hwaphyong construida con las fuerzas propias del distrito.
Tras escuchar explicaciones, recorrio el interior y el exterior de la planta enterandose del estado de construccion y de generacion electrica.
Elogio el hecho de que el distrito termino en un corto tiempo por propia cuenta la construccion de esa moderna central de gran capacidad.
Luego, se cercioro de la situacion de la construccion de las plantas electricas de mediano y pequeno tamanos impulsada por el distrito.
Senalo que el distrito de Hwaphyong trajo un magnifico progreso en todas las labores incluyendo la construccion de las centrales, la produccion agricola y la edificacion de areas rurales y evaluo altamente los exitos de lucha de todos los militantes del partido y otros trabajadores del distrito quienes marchan por la unica senda de innovacion y avance continuos como creadores del espiritu de Kanggye.
Al senalar que el distrito es el punto y unidad regionales de la construccion socialista, subrayo la necesidad de elevar mas su papel.
Enseno que las experiencias del distrito de Hwaphyong demuestran elocuentemente que cuando eleven el papel del distrito, movilicen y utilicen de manera racional los recursos y la potencialidad locales, es posible solucionar con las propias fuerzas del distrito los problemas surgidos en la vida del pueblo y mejorar incesantemente las condiciones de la vida de la poblacion distrital sin causar muchas cargas al Estado.

Pyongyang, 3 de julio (ATCC) -- La proyeccion filmica y el banquete dedicados al aniversario 20 de la visita del Presidente Kim Il Sung a Mongolia tuvieron lugar el 27 de junio en la embajada coreana en este pais.
A la ceremonia fueron invitados el vicepresidente del Gran Hural del Estado de Mongolia D. Idevkhten, el vicecanciller Ch. Batar, las personalidades de partidos politicos, el gobierno y entidades inclusive el Partido Popular Revolucionario, el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, la Federacion de Organizaciones de la Paz y Amistad, la Asociacion Paektusan para el Desarrollo Independiente, de Mongolia y la Asociacion de Amistad Mongolia-Corea asi como personas recibidas en audiencia por el Presidente.

Pyongyang, 3 de julio (ATCC) -- Con motivo del XIV aniversario del fallecimiento del Presidente Kim Il Sung, tuvieron lugar los dias 11 y 25 de junio la proyeccion filmica en Rusia y el encuentro de recordacion en Etiopia.

Monumento a la victoria en la batalla de Pochombo
Pyongyang, 3 de julio (ATCC) -- Los militares del ejercito popular, trabajadores de distintos estratos, jovenes y ninos escolares de Corea siguen visitando el Monumento a la Victoria en la Batalla de Pochombo que se encuentra en la ciudad de Hyesan de la provincia de Ryanggang.
Se trata del monumento inmortal que transmite las hazanas revolucionarias del Presidente Kim Il Sung quien dirigio a la victoria la lucha armada antijaponesa.
Fue construido con motivo del XXX aniversario del triunfo en la batalla de Pochombo y esta compuesto de la estatua de bronce del Presidente puesta frente al cuerpo de la torre-bandera flameando y el grupo escultorico de figuras humanas en su alrededor.
Segun datos sintetizados, durante estos 40 anos pasados visitaron el monumento mas de 8 millones 200 mil militares del ejercito popular, trabajadores de distintos estratos, jovenes y ninos escolares.
