Kim Jong Il Provides Field Guidance to Tideland Reclamation Site and Sinam Co-op Farm
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il provided field guidance to the tideland reclamation site on Taegye Islet and the Sinam Co-op Farm in Ryongchon County of North Phyongan Province.
The first leg of his guidance was the tideland reclamation site on Taegye Islet.
He went round the monument to the on-the-spot guidance of President Kim Il Sung standing at the entrance of the tideland.
He said that the large-scale project for reclaiming the tideland including the areas of Cholsan, Sonchon and Kwaksan has made successful progress, turning it into a fertile land thanks to the grandiose plan of the President for nature-remaking and his wise leadership.
Then, he acquainted himself in detail with the reclamation of the tideland, going round the dike and construction sites stretching out endlessly.
Seeing the construction sites where projects for dikes and networks of facilities in the reclaimed tideland are under way, he expressed great satisfaction over the vigorous progress made in the reclamation of the tideland.
It is the fighting trait of our working class to take the lead in pushing forward the cause of our socialism in the spirit of the "Arduous March" while firmly adhering to the socialist principle, the principle of the revolution, he said, adding that the workers of the Management Bureau of the North Phyongan Provincial Tideland Reclamation have reclaimed many tidelands including those on Tasa Islet and Pidan Islet by damming off sea in the indomitable self-sacrificing spirit, thus greatly contributing to the building of a rich and powerful country.
He put forward tasks to be fulfilled to complete the reclamation projects ahead of schedule, saying that the development of the tideland on Taegye Islet is an important work for the prosperity of the country.
In order to satisfactorily settle the food problem it is necessary to make the best use of the existing cultivated land and, at the same time, obtain more areas of new land, he noted, stressing that what is important here is to successfully reclaim the tideland.
Noting that state attention should be paid to the reclamation of the tideland on Taegye Islet as it is a difficult and vast nature-remaking project, he underscored the need to strengthen technological guidance to it and, at the same time, take thorough-going measures for supplying things necessary for it.
The next leg of his guidance was the Sinam Co-op Farm in Ryongchon County.
After being briefed on the agro-scientific and technological development on the farm, he commanded a bird's-eye view of the Ryongchon Plain and acquainted himself in detail with the farming for this year. He praised the agricultural working people there for devoting their patriotic zeal, aware of being responsible for the nation's agricultural production.
He highly appreciated the working traits and style of the officials and working people of the farm, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that they have brought about a signal turn in the agricultural production in recent years by properly managing and operating the farm, scrupulously organizing the labor force and tenaciously doing all farm work to meet the scientific and technological requirements.
He emphasized that it is the basic way of increasing the grain production to fully meet the requirements of the Juche-based farming method to suit the climatic and soil conditions of Korea and channel sustained great efforts into the implementation of the policy to bring about a radical turn in seed production, in particular.

DPRK-Japan Inter-Governmental Working Talks Held
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- Inter-governmental working talks between the DPRK and Japan were held in Beijing on June 11 and 12 to redeem the inglorious past and normalize the relations between them according to the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration.
According to a press release made public in Pyongyang on Friday, at the talks both sides had an exhaustive discussion on the issue of settling the outstanding matters of mutual concern and decided on the following matters:
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea will reinvestigate the abduction issue.
The DPRK also expresses willingness to cooperate in the efforts to settle the issue of those related to the Japanese plane Yodo.
As part of the measures to lift the on-going sanctions against the DPRK the state of Japan will lift the restriction on visits of persons, the restriction on the use of chartered planes and allow the DPRK-flagged ships' port-calls for the purpose of transporting cargo related to humanitarian aid.
Support and Solidarity to S. Korean People's Struggle Expressed
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- The chairperson of the Central Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union issued a statement on June 12 in which she expressed full support and solidarity with the south Korean women and people from all walks of life in their just massive resistance against the import of American beef.
Referring to the fact that one million people are staging the massive candlelight actions in at least 80 areas of south Korea, she said that this is not a mere struggle for the right to existence but an eruption of the grudge and resentment at all the unpopular and treacherous policies of traitor Lee Myung Bak.
She went on: No sooner had the Lee Myung Bak group come to power than it is allowing the dignity and sovereignty of the nation to be flouted by foreign forces. Not content with this, it is unhesitatingly committing such crimes as allowing the U.S., its master, to infringe upon the south Korean people's right to live.
With nothing can the U.S. and the pro-U.S. traitorous group quell the ardent aspiration and firm will of the south Korean women to regain without fail the sovereignty, dignity, rights and the right to live usurped by them, she declared.
She expressed the belief that all the women from all walks of life in south Korea would shatter the sycophantic moves of the traitorous forces and their anti-reunification moves and further intensify the struggle for independence, democracy and reunification.
Lee Myung Bak Group's Crackdown upon Candlelight Demos Assailed
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- The Lee Myung Bak group is mocking at the lives of south Koreans and cracking down upon the peaceable candlelight demonstrators by branding them as "violent forces," while kowtowing to the U.S.
A spokesman for the Korean Council of Religionists said this in a statement issued on June 13 bitterly denouncing this group as a group of devils and kingpins of irregularities and corruption characterized by self-righteous and hypocritical nature.
It went on:
The massive candlelight actions raging everyday are not simple resistance to protect the right to existence from the import of American beef but a just struggle to defend the sovereign dignity and right of the nation and a patriotic struggle to deal hard blows at the clique of flunkeyists and traitors.
After his seizure of power traitor Lee sold off the south Korean people's right to live without hesitation, put the inter-Korean relations on the verge of collapse and brought the dark clouds of a war to hang over the Korean Peninsula by recklessly stepping up the arms buildup and escalating the moves to launch a war against the north in collusion with foreign forces.

DPRK Women Footballers Feted
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- The DPRK Cabinet gave a reception at Sosan Hotel on June 12 in honor of the DPRK players who won the title of the 2008 Asian Women Football Championship.

Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- Schoolchildren are now enjoying joyful camping life at children's camps in different areas.
The campers are spending happy days at the camps which are found at all the beauty spots of the country.
The campers of the Mangyongdae Children's Camp visit the old home of President Kim Il Sung in Mangyongdae and the wrestling ground, the study site and other revolutionary historical sites to learn from the glorious childhood of the President. They also enrich their knowledge in extracurricular activities such as plant gathering in Mt. Ryongak.

Researches into Migratory Birds Intensified
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- Researches into migratory birds are plumbing new depth in the DPRK.
Ri Su Yong, chief of the Zoological Institute under the State Academy of Sciences, told KCNA that the institute, as part of the work for the prevention of bird flu, marked off survey districts in the areas where the flying routes of migratory birds crisscross to concentrate researches on them.

Researchers who have gone out to the east and west coastal areas have chosen stationary observation stations, showing deep interests in a correct ascertainment of the species of the migratory birds and their number by using various photographing and observation apparatus suitable to the local conditions.

Rodong Sinmun on Crisis of "Pragmatic Government" in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- The all-people candlelight actions now under way in south Korea remind one of the June popular resistance 21 years ago which forced the military dictatorship regime to yield to it. S. Korean Democratic Labor Party Clarifies Its Stand to Struggle against "Government"
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- The Democratic Labor Party of south Korea called a press conference demanding renegotiations on beef import at the building of the "National Assembly" on June 11 at which it clarified its stand to struggle against the "government" in case the Lee Myung Bak group refuses to accept the people's demand, south Korean KBS reported.
The party recalled that the participants in the candlelight actions declared that they would wage a movement for forcing the regime to step down unless a decision on renegotiations on the American beef import is made till June 20.
The party will stage together with the people a movement for non-confidence in the "government" if it ignores the people's demand for the withdrawal of the "official instructions, renegotiations on beef import and so on, the party warned.
Sacking of Police Agency Chief Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- The Citizens' Solidarity for Democratic Society of south Korea called a press conference in front of "Chongwadae" on June 11 at which it demanded the sacking of the chief of the Police Agency who masterminded the violent suppression of the candlelight actions of citizens of different strata staged in protest against the import of American beef, south Korean MBC reported.
Charging that the chief of the Police Agency is to blame for the violent crackdown upon the candlelight actions, it said, demanding he be included on the list of those to be replaced and fired.
At the end of the press conference the organization thrust to "Chongwadae" the people's signature paper demanding "the dismissal of the chief of the Police Agency and punishment of him," which was signed by at least 15,000 citizens of different strata.
Candlelight Actions against Beef Import Go on in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- Candlelight actions against the import of American beef went on across south Korea on June 11, south Korean CBS reported.
At least 1,000 citizens of different standings in Seoul held a candlelight rally at the plaza of the Seoul City Office.
They demanded the puppet authorities release the detainees at once and accept the people's demand for renegotiations on beef import.
At the end of the rally the participants staged a demonstration on streets.
People of different standings in Jonju of North Jolla Province held a rally in memory of Ri Pyong Ryol who burnt himself to death in protest against beef import and condemned the "government's" deceptive act through various information activities.
Candlelight actions demanding the resignation of the present regime took place in the areas of Taejon, Taegu, Kwangju and Suwon on the same day.
Lee Myung Bak Group Urged to Retract Unreasonable Decision on Personnel Issue
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification and the Press Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration demanded the Lee Myung Bak regime retract the measure taken by it to informally designate Nam Ju Hong as director of the "Institute for Education in Unification Issue".
The south headquarters in a statement on June 9 condemned traitor Lee Myung Bak for trying to appoint this anti-reunification element ill famed for being an ultra-right conservative as the director of the above-said institute although the proposed designation of him as minister of "Unification" was categorically turned down.

Lee Myung Bak's Unpopular Behavior under Fire
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration of south Korea issued a statement on June 8 in which it blasted the unpopular behavior of traitor Lee Myung Bak.
The statement recalled that on June 7 Lee Myung Bak requested U.S. President Bush to take a measure to bar cattle more than 30 months old from being imported and is now busy advertising it a great diplomatic success.
The people are demanding the total renegotiations but Lee is conducting such begging diplomacy towards the U.S. as to implore it to take his difficult position into consideration, it deplored.
The authorities are sadly mistaken if they calculate the people's indignation will be toned down, when the issue of beef import is glossed over, it noted.
Lee had better step down as "president" if he is not willing to conduct total renegotiations, it urged, declaring that they will join the people to the last in the struggle to judge the Lee Myung Bak "government".
S. Korean Opposition Parties Support Resignation of Whole Cabinet
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- South Korean opposition parties such as the Democratic Party for Unity and the Democratic Labour Party clarified their stance on the resignation of the whole puppet Cabinet on June 10, according to the south Korean KBS.
The opposition parties held that it is something fortunate that the "government" admitted its failure in personnel administration and state administration though belatedly and all the disqualified members of the Cabinet deserve resignation.
The opposition parties urged the authorities to bear in mind that the basic requirements of the people are renegotiations on beef import and use the realization of the renegotiations and the sweeping Cabinet reshuffle as a momentum to make a fresh start.
What is more important is for Lee Myung Bak to change his mind, the parties noted, adding that he should not only accept the resignation of the whole Cabinet but also be aware of what people truly desire.
Trade Union in S. Korea Vows to Win Struggle against Beef Import
Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- The Metal Workers Union of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a rally around Kwanghwamun in Seoul on June 11 to vow to win the struggle against beef import.
Speakers at the rally declared that they should never slacken the strained posture till the negotiations on the import of American beef are declared null and void.
Different circles are now driving Lee Myung Bak and the chief of the Police Agency to a tight corner, they said, declaring that they would deter the "government" from importing beef and enforcing a neo-liberal policy.

It bitterly denounced the reactionary behavior of the present south Korean authorities totally denying the remarkable events and successes made in the north-south relations in the June 15 era of reunification and pursuing the policy of sycophancy toward the U.S. and confrontation with the DPRK as the heinous treacherous act of blocking the development of the north-south relations and chilling the ardent desire for reunification of the whole Korean nation desirous of the co-prosperity of the nation.

The achievements made in the process of reconciliation and cooperation between the north and the south of Korea and its reunification despite the U.S. ceaseless threat of aggression to stifle the DPRK and the obstructions of the south Korean ultra-right conservative forces over the past 8 years since the adoption of the June 15 joint declaration have clearly proved the validity and vitality of the declaration, the statement said.
It noted that the October 4 declaration serves as a programme for fully implementing the June 15 joint declaration to promote the process of the reunification of Korea and the independent development of the nation in all fields and achieve durable peace on the Korean Peninsula.
The declarations represent the agreements which are of international significance in ensuring world peace and security, it said, recalling that these declarations have been supported and hailed in different countries and international arenas including the U.N. Subrayo que ellos deben prestar primordial atencion a normalizar la produccion en un alto nivel.
Hay que asegurar estrictamente un clima higienico-cultural en esta fabrica a cargo de producir los alimentos para los militares, apunto y senalo los remedios para el particular.
Se reunio con los funcionarios y cientificos que inventaron un nuevo producto biologico para la agricultura de gran eficacia contando con la clase obrera de la fabrica y averiguo como marcha la investigacion.
Felicito a los cientificos y tecnicos del equipo de investigacion por haber desarrollado ese producto biologico al estilo coreano muy eficiente y sin efectos contaminantes realizando estudios perseverantes y esfuerzos incansables y evaluo altamente el patriotismo de ellos.

Se llevan a cabo en Beijing conversaciones Corea-Japon
Pyongyang, 13 de junio (ATCC) -- En virtud de la Declaracion Corea-Japon de Pyongyang, tuvieron lugar los dias 11 y 12 en Beijing las conversaciones intergubernamentales entre ambos paises para liquidar el desgraciado pasado y normalizar las relaciones interestatales.
El dia 13, fue publicado en Pyongyang el comunicado sobre el resultado de dichas conversaciones.
@Segun el documento, en ellas ambas partes realizaron sinceros debates para solucionar los problemas pendientes de interes mutuo y acordaron lo siguiente:
La Republica Popular Democratica de Corea reabrira la pesquisa sobre el problema del secuestro.
Tambien, la RPDC expresa la voluntad de colaborar para resolver el problema de los involucrados en el caso del avion "Yodo".
Para levantar parcialmente las vigentes medidas de sancion contra la RPDC, Japon hara lo siguiente: levantar la restriccion de los viajes de personas, levantar la restriccion de los vuelos charter y dar permiso a la entrada en puerto de las embarcaciones con nacionalidad de la RPDC para el transporte de los materiales de asistencia humanitaria".
Presidenta de UMDC expresa solidaridad con lucha de surcoreanos
Pyongyang, 13 de junio (ATCC) -- La presidenta del Comite Central de la Union de Mujeres Democraticas de Corea (UMDC) publico el dia 12 una declaracion expresando entero apoyo y solidaridad con la justa lucha de las mujeres y otros habitantes de distintos estratos del Sur de Corea que se sublevan en masas contra la importacion de la carne de res norteamericana.
En estos momentos, un millon de personas libran una lucha masiva con velas encendidas en mas de 80 zonas del Sur de Corea, senala la nota y sostiene que ella no es por el derecho a la subsistencia sino la explosion de condenas e indignacion por todas las politicas antipopulares y antinacionales del traidor Lee Myung Bak.

CRC denuncia represion a manifestantes con velas encendidas
Pyongyang, 13 de junio (ATCC) -- En su declaracion fechada 13, el portavoz del Consejo de Religiosos de Corea (CRC) condeno categoricamente a la horda de Lee Myung Bak, que adula a Estados Unidos, pone en riesgo la vida del pueblo surcoreano y reprime a los manifestantes pacificos con velas encendidas acusandolos de "fuerzas violentas", calificandola de grupo de malvados y corruptos de pesima calana sumamente egoistas e hipocritas.
Las velas de esa sublevacion masiva, que estan encendidas furiosamente en estos dias en el Sur de Corea, no se proponen unicamente a defender el derecho a la subsistencia contra la importacion de la carne de vacas locas de EE.UU. sino devienen la llama de la justa y patriotica lucha por salvaguardar la dignidad y los derechos independientes de la nacion y castigar duro a los compinches vendepatrias y serviles a grandes potencias, senala el documento.
Despues de su llegada al poder, el traidor Lee Myung Bak vendio sin reparo alguno el derecho a la vida de la poblacion surcoreana y llevo a la fase de ruptura total las relaciones con el Norte de Corea, revela.
Igualmente, -continua- trae el nubarron de la guerra sobre el territorio patrio de 3 mil ri (mil 200 kilometros) perpetrando el imprudente aumento armamentista y las maniobras para provocar la guerra contra el Norte en contubernio con las fuerzas foraneas.
Hoy dia, el paso de la lucha con velas al movimiento por la retirada del "poder" de Lee deviene la condena merecida a los actos antinacionales y anti-reunificacion de este traidor, apunta.
Aprovechando esta ocasion, el Consejo de Religiosos de Corea envia total apoyo y solidaridad a la lucha del pueblo surcoreano por defender la dignidad y derechos independientes de la nacion y expresa la esperanza de que todos los creyentes y entidades religiosas del Sur de Corea, aspirantes a la justicia, se levantaran activamente en la lucha por arruinar al traidor Lee que sigue ciegamente a las fuerzas extranjeras dando espaldas a la nacion, concluye.
