Letter of Thanks and Gift to Kim Jong Il from Chinese Ambassador to DPRK
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il was presented with a letter and gift by Liu Xiaoming, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, expressing thanks to him for the successful torch relay for the 29th Olympic Games held in Pyongyang.
The letter and gift were conveyed to Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, by Liu Xiaoming on May 5.
Kim Yong Nam Meets Chinese Ambassador to DPRK
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, met with Liu Xiaoming, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, and had a friendly talk with him at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on May 5.
Expressing thanks to the party, government and people of the DPRK for rendering sincere help in the torch relay for the 29th Olympic Games held in Pyongyang, Liu Xiaoming noted that this event marked an occasion in boosting the friendly relations between the peoples of China and the DPRK.
Noting that it is the steadfast policy of the party and government of China to steadily consolidate and develop the Sino-DPRK friendly ties, he stressed that China would make positive efforts to boost the friendship with the DPRK in the future, too.

Nepalese Organization Decides to Confer Peace Prize on Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- The Nepal Journalist Association decided to award the "Nepalese International Peace Prize" to General Secretary Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the 60th founding anniversary of the DPRK.
A decision was adopted at the 18th general meeting of the association held from April 29 to 30.

10th Pyongyang Seminar on Medical Science Held
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- The 10th Pyongyang seminar on medical science of Koreans at home and abroad was held at the People's Palace of Culture on May 5 and 6.
It was attended by officials in the field of public health including Ri Pong Hun, chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Medical Association, and medical scientists and members of the delegation of Korean scientists in the United States led by Pak Mun Jae and Ri Jong Su, secretary general of the Germany-Korea Medicine Association.
Ri Pong Hun in his opening address expressed belief that medical scientists at home and abroad would positively contribute to the development of the medical science and technology of the Korean nation to a higher stage with desire to contribute to the prosperity of the country and improvement of the people's health.
The participants watched video on which seminars held in the last period were recorded. Then followed a general lecture.
The seminar was divided into panels of the internal and external medicines. Presented there were tens of papers introducing valuable research achievements that gave answers to theoretical and practical issues arising in developing the medical science and experience.
A closing address was made and souvenirs and certificates were conferred on speakers who presented excellent papers.
Computer Multimedia Literary Library Brought out
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- Kim Il Sung University has recently brought out a computer multimedia literary library named "Mirae" (version 2.0).
It contains more than a million pages of books along with 350,000 lemmas.
The number of its letters amounts to 300,000,000.
Among the data are famous art pieces created by the three generals of Mt. Paektu and their works, aphorisms of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and books and materials for studying the Juche idea.
In addition, it gives more than 10,000 literary works including a series of novels "Immortal History", "Immortal Leadership" and "On the One Road of Loyalty", selection of Korean classical literature, selection of Korean modern literature, selection of Korean short novels, selection of world literature and selection of world children's literature, which have been published in the DPRK. It also reflects the "Grand Dictionary of Literature", "Grand Korean Dictionary ", history of literature and literary theory and various kinds of common knowledge.
The "Mirae" (version 2.0) is being widely disseminated through CD and homepage.
KCNA on Lee Myung Bak's "Diplomacy of Value Concepts"
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- It is the poor political servant who lives in others' senses and dances to the tune of others.
Typical of such disgraceful servants is Lee Myung Bak of south Korea. During his junkets to the U.S. and Japan, he called for alliance with foreign forces and confrontation with the fellow countrymen, imitating others' "diplomacy of value concepts."
He prattled that south Korea and the U.S. should build the "alliance of confidence" in order to expand co-interests in military affairs, political diplomacy, economy, social culture and all other fields on the basis of the common concepts of value called "democracy" and "market economy." And he went the lengths of claiming that "the most important task facing south Korea and the U.S. is how to cope with north Korea."
This proves that "principled pragmatism" advocated by the Lee Myung Bak gentries as "doctrine of diplomacy" is, in fact, a treacherous and sycophantic "doctrine" as it is a mixture of "pragmatism" and "diplomacy of value concepts" from the U.S. and Japan and the doctrine of anti-DPRK confrontation from the "Yusin" architects.
The Lee Myung Bak regime has been steeped in flunkeyism and treachery to the marrow of its bones from its outset.
If not, how could he do such foolish things as peddling in the U.S. the "proposal" on the relations with the fellow countrymen, which includes the issue of establishing the "liaison office" for "diplomacy towards the north" like relationship between countries?
What is to be done between the fellow countrymen is not diplomacy but to achieve unity and peace and prosperity under the banner of "By our nation itself." So it is nonsense to talk about diplomatic relationship between the fellow countrymen.
Flunkeyism makes a man become an idiot and if a nation follows it, it will destroy its own country.
As it is mad with flunkeyism, the Lee Myung Bak group has turned to be a fool totally ignorant of the inter-Korean relations and a political servant of the outsiders who poses threat to the lives of the fellow countrymen by subserviently opening the beef market and resisting the reduction of aggression forces.
The "pragmatic diplomacy" of the Lee Myung Bak regime is just "tribute-offering diplomacy," "diplomacy of drain on resources for outsiders" and "treacherous diplomacy."
This is the results of the first overseas trip of traitor Lee who has pursued the "tightened alliance," talking about the "commonness in concepts of value."

Lee Myung Bak's Junkets to U.S. and Japan Assailed
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- During his visits to the U.S. and the Japanese masters traitor Lee Myung Bak did nothing but selling off the dignity of the nation and the interests of the south Koreans and inciting anachronistic confrontation with the DPRK, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a signed commentary.
What he uttered during his recent junkets to the U.S. and Japan were sinister anti-reunification outbursts aimed to do harm to the fellow countrymen in cooperation with the outsiders, the commentary notes, and goes on:
Not content with talking about "threat" and "nuclear abandonment," Lee went the lengths of inciting anti-DPRK war moves, asserting that it should never be "tolerated". This glaringly reveals his dirty colors as a guy keen on dependence on outsiders and anti-reunification confrontation as it indicates his inveterate enmity toward the fellow countrymen.
He cried that he would not negotiate with the DPRK, talking about "blackmail" from it, while defending "no nukes, opening and 3,000 dollars", his anti-reunification policy toward it. This was an open agitation for confrontation with the DPRK. The traitor even said that "not only the south but also the north should be changed", a total denial of the north-south relations that have undergone change after the publication of the June 15 joint declaration. The "change of the south" touted by him reflects his intention to stop national cooperation and "change of the north" his attempt to invade the DPRK.
The true nature of his junkets for inciting confrontation with the DPRK was brought into bolder relief in the "human rights racket" kicked up by him. The traitor took fault with the non-existent "human rights" issue, a provocation little short of infringing upon the high dignity and authority of the DPRK.

U.S. Moves to Bring New Nuclear-powered Carrier to Japan under Fire
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is going to permanently keep nuclear-powered carrier George Washington at a Japanese port to replace flattop Kitty Hawk there. George Washington which is to arrive at the Yokosuka Port in August is said to perform operation duties in waters around the Korean Peninsula also in the future.
Commenting on this, papers today say the U.S. intention to have new carrier instead of the old one in waters around the Korean Peninsula on a permanent basis is a serious military move which can never be overlooked.

S. Korean Puppet Air Force to Stage Military Exercises
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- The south Korean puppet air force announced that it would stage military exercises for three days, starting on May 6.
The exercises, to be waged by its 17th and 18th combat air divisions, are aimed at increasing the capability for combined operation with different fighter planes.
The bellicose force declared that it would transfer one wing of F-4s from the 17th combat air division to the 18th combat air division for the exercises.
The military exercises fully reveal the bellicose colors of the Lee Myung Bak group.
Suppression of Progressive Movement Forces Assailed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- The security authorities of south Korea announced on May 1 that they have defined 25 civic and social organizations and political parties, including the Democratic Labour Party, the Headquarters of the All-People Movement for Checking the south Korea-U.S. FTA and the Federation of Stall Keepers and organizations affiliated to the Solidarity for Progress and the (south) Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, as organizations involved in illegal violence and demonstration.
17 organizations of them are trade unions staging long-term strikes and sit-ins in demand of the repeal of part-time job and the vital rights.
The Police Office and the Ministry of Administration and Security took such action against them, charging that they led "violent demonstrations" last year.

Anti-"Government" Rally Held in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- More than 20,000 members of trade unions of government employees including the Government Employees' Union in south Korea held an anti-"government" rally in Youido, Seoul on May 3.
At the rally speakers denounced the "government" for trying to railroad the "amendment to the law on pension of government employees", which imposes unilateral sacrifice on the employees, through the "National Assembly" against their will.
They warned that if the present "government" retrogressively revises the above-said law and conducts restructuring, they will go on a strike.
Saying that the government employees are not servants simply working on instruction, they called upon them to struggle in unity.
Struggle against Import of American Beef Unabated in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- Struggle of people from different social standings is going on day after day in south Korea against traitor Lee Myung Bak for totally allowing the import of beef from the U.S.
A large-scale candlelight rally was held at Chonggye Plaza in Kwanghwamun of Seoul on Saturday night in the wake of similar rally on Friday.
It was attended by members of political parties and civic and social organizations including the Democratic Labour Party and the Headquarters of the All-People Movement for Checking the S. Korea-U.S. FTA and citizens and students, at least 20,000 all told.
Prior to the rally, the Citizens' Solidarity against Policy staged a signature campaign against the import of American beef.
Members of the organization informed the citizens of the danger of "mad cow disease," calling upon them to turn out in the struggle to oppose the import of the American beef.
Meanwhile, an all-people cultural event against the import of American beef was held in front of a bell house in Seoul.
Similar demonstrations and rallies took place in different parts of south Korea including Pusan, Kwangju and Taegu.
Lee Myung Bak Regime's Arms Buildup under Fire
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- The Lee Myung Bak regime at the Defense Promotion Committee in late April decided to additionally introduce 21 F-15Ks and hundreds of latest air-to-ground cruise missiles to go with them from the U.S. in the period from 2010 to 2012.
It is said that it will also purchase fifth generation fighters equipped with Stealth function and technology related to the establishment of Patriot missile defense system.

Anniversaries of Kim Jong Il's Works Marked in Italy
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place in Italy on May 1 to mark the 13th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's work "Giving Priority to Ideological Work Is Essential for Accomplishing Socialism" and the 11th anniversary of his work "On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of the Revolution and Construction".
On display in the venue of the meeting were Kim Jong Il's works and books introducing Songun Korea.
It was attended by figures of the European Society for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Italian Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, the New World Association and a university and other people.
Speeches were made there.
Matteo Carbonelli, secretary general of the European society, lauded Kim Jong Il as the great leader who performed undying feats in leading the human cause of independence and the socialist movement.

Pyongyang, 6 de mayo (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il, Secretario General del Partido del Trabajo de Corea, Presidente del Comite de Defensa Nacional de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea y Comandante Supremo del Ejercito Popular de Corea inspecciono la Unidad No. 1105 del EPC que adquirio el Titulo del Septimo Regimiento de O Jung Hup.
Tras hacer conocimiento del estado de cumplimiento del deber de la unidad, el Comandante Supremo vio los ejercicios de mando de estado mayor y de manejo de canones e indico las tareas que se presentan en el mayor fortalecimiento de combatividad de la unidad.

La realidad de hoy, en que todas las unidades registraron un cambio trascendental en el abastecimiento e hacen un gran aporte al fortalecimiento de la combatividad, prueba practicamente la justicia de las instrucciones del Presidente Kim Il Sung segun las cuales la labor de abastecimiento es justamente la labor politica, asevero el Comandante Supremo y anadio la necesidad de mantener con firmeza este trabajo.

Kim Jong Il recibe "Premio Internacional de la Paz de Nepal"
Pyongyang, 6 de mayo (ATCC) -- La Asociacion de Periodistas de Nepal decidio conceder el "Premio Internacional de la Paz de Nepal" al Dirigente Kim Jong Il con motivo del aniversario 60 de la fundacion de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea.
La resolucion correspondiente fue aprobada en la XVIII asamblea general de la mencionada entidad celebrada los dias 29 y 30 de abril.
Rodong Sinmun denuncia visita de Lee Myung Bak a EE.UU. y Japon

Hablando de la "amenaza" y "renuncia nuclear, primero" del Norte y de que "no debe tolerar" al Norte, Lee se sumo al alboroto belico norteamericano contra la RPDC. Esto es una revelacion de la conciencia hostil y la sucia naturaleza de el quien se sustenta la vida dependiendo de las fuerzas extranjeras y persiguiendo la confrontacion con la RPDC.
Lee divulgo la teoria de "desnuclearizacion, apertura, 3,000 dolares" que es su "politica con respecto al Norte" contra la reunificacion y hablo del "chantaje" del Norte y de "renuncia de negociaciones". Esto es una abierta agitacion de la confrontacion. El traidor dijo que "tanto el Sur como el Norte deben cambiarse", lo cual es una negacion completa de las relaciones Norte-Sur logradas despues del 15 de junio. El "cambio del Sur" de que hablo Lee es la renuncia de la cooperacion nacional y el "cambio del Norte" es un reflejo de la intencion de agresion al Norte.

Conmemoran dias de publicacion de obras de Kim Jong Il en Italia
Pyongyang, 6 de mayo (ATCC) -- Tuvo lugar el dia primero en Italia el acto dedicado al 13o y 11o aniversario de la publicacion de las obras del Dirigente Kim Jong Il "Priorizar la labor ideologica es requisito indispensable para el cumplimiento de la causa socialista" y "Para mantener el espiritu Juche y la nacionalidad en el proceso revolucionario y constructivo".
En la ocasion fueron exhibidas las obras del Dirigente y los libros que dan a conocer Corea del Songun (priorizacion militar).
Estuvieron presentes alli las personalidades de la Sociedad Europea para el Estudio de la Idea Juche, el Comite Italiano de Estudio de la Idea Juche, la Asociacion del Nuevo Mundo y una universidad y otros habitantes.
En el encuentro hubo intervenciones.
