KPA Anniversary Marked

Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- Leading papers Friday editorially celebrate the Army Day. They say that the foundation of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army by President Kim Il Sung on April 25, Juche 21 (1932) was a historic event which declared the birth of revolutionary army of new type guided by the Juche idea, the Songun idea in the era of independence.
Rodong Sinmun says: The nearly 80 year-long history of the KPA is a history in which it has won one victory after victory as a mainstay and a main force for the revolution, true to the idea and leadership of the party and the leader.
The spirit of devotedly defending the leader, the core in the mental power of the KPA, has been fully displayed on the noblest level in the Songun era led by Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il.
Victories on all fronts of the revolution and construction have been firmly guaranteed thanks to the great victory won on the anti-imperialist military front in the Korean revolution that was started and has advanced with arms.
Based on the victory and feats performed during the hard-fought great anti-Japanese war for Korea's liberation our party and the state were founded and the driving force for the revolution has grown remarkably stronger and the great victory won in the grim Fatherland Liberation War helped lay a reliable socio-political ground and military and economic foundation for the socialist revolution and socialist construction.
The present stirring reality of Songun Korea which is dynamically advancing toward the bright morrow of a great prosperous powerful nation would be unthinkable without the devoted struggle of the Korean People's Army that has built lots of monumental edifices in the Songun era in different parts of the country overcoming manifold difficulties in the revolutionary soldier spirit.
General Secretary Kim Jong Il's Songun politics serves as an all-powerful treasured sword for the revolution and construction in our era and an ever-victorious banner for frustrating the imperialists' hegemonic strategy because it helped defend socialism and usher in the dawn of a great prosperous powerful nation despite the worst adversity.
Under the banner of Songun provided by the great brilliant commander of Mt. Paektu, the KPA has demonstrated its might as an invincible revolutionary army matchless in ideology, mentality and combat capacity.
The KPA is an invincible revolutionary army strong in ideology and faith, being possessed of indefatigable mental power, invincible Juche-based war methods and powerful striking capability.
The KPA is invincible revolutionary armed forces strongly supported and helped by all people.
Minju Joson says that it is the immense honor and pride of the Korean people to have the KPA which has demonstrated its might as a powerful revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu under the guidance of the President and Kim Jong Il.

South Korea-U.S. Military Confab against DPRK Assailed

Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- The 14th south Korea-U.S. seminar on defense analysis recently held under the co-sponsorship of the Institute for Defense Studies of south Korea and the institute of analysis and concept of the U.S. army was an extremely dangerous military confab as it reconfirmed the master-servant military relationship between the U.S. and south Korea and the U.S. forces' permanent presence in south Korea and discussed the moves for a war of aggression against the DPRK with the south Korean pro-U.S. conservative ruling groups. Minju Joson Friday observes this in a signed commentary.
    It goes on:
The seminar brought to light the intention of the U.S. military chiefs to make the south Korean forces more faithfully serve it as puppet forces and use them as a shock brigade in carrying out the war against the DPRK. It also disclosed the idea of the south Korean pro-U.S. conservative ruling groups subservient to it.
The south Korea-U.S. "alliance" is an "alliance" for aggression and a war "alliance" against the DPRK in every aspect.
Through the alliance the U.S. seeks to make south Korea increasingly dependent upon it politically and militarily and use the south Korean puppet forces as servants in executing its war against the DPRK.
The Lee Myung Bak group is running wild, talking about "priority to south Korea-U.S. alliance" and tightened relationship.
The reality proves that the U.S. is talking about "dialogue" and "peace" before its dialogue partner but working hard to do harm to it in collusion with the south Korean warhawks behind the scene.
The south Korean pro-U.S. conservative ruling group should clearly understand that they will get nothing but a shameful destruction if they keep acting puppets and henchmen of the U.S. with their backs turned on fellow countrymen.

Independent Reunification Called for in S. Korea

Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- The Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration in south Korea made public a statement on April 19 on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the April popular uprising.
The statement said that the April 19 uprising was mass resistance staged by the people from all walks of life against the Syngman Rhee dictatorial forces' moves against democracy and reunification.
Noting that the Lee Myung Bak regime is persistently pursuing confrontation with compatriots, following the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK, it called upon the youth and students to inherit the April 19 spirit and take the lead in the struggle to achieve independent reunification, peace and prosperity by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation.

Abolition of NSL Demanded in S. Korea

Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- Yun Ki Jin, chairman of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification, demanded the abolition of the notorious "National Security Law" (NSL) at a court on April 11.
Recalling that during the past days when he was wanted by the police it broke into his house frequently and resorted to open appeasement and threat in a bid to prod his parents into cooperating with its investigation while accusing them "of having a son charged with espionage", he declared that he would fight against the NSL to the last as it made him a "criminal" by branding the reunification movement as a "crime".
Remarkable successes which could hardly be seen in the past have been achieved in the reunification movement thanks to the publication of the June 15 joint declaration, he noted, adding that the NSL is desperately blocking the way of the development of the inter-Korean relations.
Noting that the abolition of the evil law is, indeed, a primary task facing the reunification movement, he demanded the court authorities face up to the present times and make a proper judgment.

Lee Myung Bak's Junket to U.S. under Fire in S. Korea

Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification in south Korea issued a statement on April 21 denouncing Lee Myung Bak for his servile and submissive act.
It accused him of advertising the agreement reached on a stop to the reduction of the U.S. forces in south Korea and the conclusion of the FTA within the year as a "success" made during his visit to the U.S.
It recalled that during his trip to the U.S. he begged for a stop to the reduction of the U.S. forces in south Korea and, in return for this, agreed to actively cooperate with the U.S. in its "anti-terrorist war" and "improve the system of sharing the upkeep of the U.S. forces", etc.
The " strategic alliance in the 21st century" touted by Lee is an anti-peace outburst calling for helping the U.S. realize its ambition for world supremacy, it said, stating that the moves for "future initiative for south Korea-U.S. alliance" in which it is put into a concrete shape should be stopped at once.
We will join the people desirous of independence, peace and reunification and wage a bold struggle to shatter the plot to tighten the aggressive and humiliating "alliance" with U.S. and force the U.S. forces to withdraw from south Korea, declared the statement.
