U.S. Termed Wrecker of Peace on Korean Peninsula
Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- The U.S. should not forget the bitter lesson drawn from the incident of its imperialist armed spy ship "Pueblo" in the last century but stop the anachronistic hostile policy toward the DPRK at once and sincerely opt for replacing the Armistice Agreement with a peace accord.
A spokesman for the Korean National Peace Committee demanded this in a statement released on Tuesday as regards the lapse of 40 years since the incident.
The incident was a product of the U.S. gangster-like policy of aggression against the DPRK in every aspect, the statement said, adding that after that the U.S. continued to conduct aggressive espionage and military provocations, arms buildup and military exercises against the DPRK, driving the situation to the brink of war.
Saying that the root cause of war is the confrontation ruckus kicked up by the U.S. conservative hardliners who are keen on pursuing the hostile policy toward the DPRK, talking about the "nuclear issue," the statement goes on:
The history and the reality clearly prove that the U.S. is a harasser of peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and it is chiefly to blame for posing a threat of war there.
In order to ease the constant tension and achieve lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula, it is necessary to stop the arms buildup and military exercises for aggression conducted by the U.S. and its followers and get the U.S. forces withdrawn from south Korea.
250-mile Journey for Revolution Linked with Road to National Liberation and Prosperity
Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- Today is the significant day when President Kim Il Sung set out on the 250-mile Journey for National Liberation.
After his graduation from Badaogou Primary School in Northeast China, he made the 250-mile Journey for Learning true to the lofty intention of his father that a man who was born in Korea should have a good knowledge of Korea. After arriving at Mangyongdae, he attended Changdok School, cultivating a great ambition for national liberation.
He received in January Juche 14 (1925) a few months ahead of his graduation the heart-rending news that his father had been arrested again by the Japanese police.
With a determination to wage a life and death struggle for taking revenge on the enemy for his father, his family and the Korean nation, he set out on the 250-mile Journey for National Liberation on January 22 regardless of intense cold.
He went to Kaechon via Sinanju from Pyongyang by train. From there, he walked all along in the teeth of biting cold and blizzard in the northern area.
On February 3, the 13th day after he left Mangyongdae, he arrived at Phophyong Ferry and he looked over the motherland and then the alien land across the river with sorrow and indignation.
He walked slowly towards the opposite side of the river singing quietly the Song of the River Amnok composed by someone and made a firm resolve not to return to Korea before he won her independence.
The arduous 250-mile journey for revolution covered by the President with a pledge to save the nation from quagmire at the age of 13 led to the liberation of the country and the happiness of the people.
The President, true to his great pledge made in the 1920s, waged the 20-year-long bloody anti-Japanese war to accomplish the historical cause of national liberation and humbled the arrogance of the U.S. imperialists in the three-year-long Fatherland Liberation War to defend the nation's sovereignty in the 1950s.
He also constructed the DPRK that the U.S. imperialists said would not be recovered even in 100 years to be a powerful socialist country independent, self-supporting and self-reliant in defence and laid a solid foundation for eternal prosperity of the country.
The Korean people bear deep in their mind the philosophy left by the history of the Korean revolution that the long arduous march is linked with the eternal happiness, the philosophy they learned from the 250-mile journey for revolution made by the President.
On-the-spot Study Groups Active in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- On-the-spot study groups, a type of study-while-working education, are being operated briskly throughout the country in compliance with the requirements of the developing reality in which the role of educated personnel is growing in the building of a great, prosperous and socialist power.
According to data available, more than 220 study groups of this type have been formed nationwide to give scientific and technological know-how to 6,500-odd working people.
Notably animated are the study groups for agricultural working people.
Teachers of Hyesan University of Agriculture and Forestry and Nampho and Hamhung Universities of Agriculture go out to farms and give effective lectures to farmers while rendering scientific and technological assistance to them in their farm work in the new year.
Similar reports have come from the sector of railway transport.
Teachers of Pyongyang University of Railways have gone out to Sunchon, Kaechon and other railway sections to give lectures on scientific and technological questions arising in putting railroads and their operation on a modern and scientific basis, thus giving a substantial help to railway workers in achieving greater results in transportation this year.
On-the-spot study groups are being operated in high gear in heavy and light industries, commerce and all other areas of the national economy.
Bolton's Anti-DPRK Remarks under Fire
Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the UN, in his article contributed to the "Wall Street Journal" let loose a spate of reckless remarks. He claimed that the U.S. should pull out of the dealing with north Korea and opt for a high-handed policy as the presentation of its report on nuclear declaration is delayed. He also blustered that the U.S. should plug south Korea into the PSI and build a triangular cooperation mechanism involving the U.S., Japan and south Korea to pressurize north Korea and it should not be de-listed as a "sponsor of terrorism" under any circumstances.
Minju Joson Tuesday in a signed commentary assailing his utterances observes that it cannot but disclose Bolton’s wicked intention to torpedo the process for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
It goes on:
As far as some problems that cropped up at the second phase for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula are concerned, they surfaced because the countries participating in the six-party talks failed to keep pace with the measures taken by the DPRK to implement the agreement and the speed at which it has pushed ahead with them in all respects.
The process for the denuclearization of the peninsula is under special circumstances as it can make progress only when the six parties honestly fulfill their commitments on the principle of "action for action." Herein lies the reason why the DPRK asserts that the observance of the principle of simultaneous action is vital to advancing the above-said process.
The U.S. committed itself to cross the DPRK off the list of "sponsors of terrorism" and stop the application of the "Trading with the Enemy Act" against it until the end of last year according to the Oct. 3 agreement adopted at the six-way talks but the U.S. has been hesitating to do so. It is quite self-evident that the DPRK cannot unilaterally implement its commitments under this situation.
If the U.S. is truly willing to advance the process for the denuclearization of the peninsula, it should simply honor its commitments.
The call made by U.S. conservative hardliners for building the above-mentioned mechanism, misinterpreting the truth about the situation, cannot be construed otherwise than an artifice to achieve their sinister aim.
Anti-DPRK Smear Campaign of U.S. under Fire
Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- The United States has so far spread all sorts of wild rumors in a bid to charge the DPRK with "nuclear proliferation" and "counterfeiting" but it was fully disclosed that the U.S. is chiefly to blame for the above-said crimes, thus becoming the target of worldwide criticism and ridicule.
Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this in a signed commentary.
Citing facts that at the outset of the year U.S. media revealed the truth behind the rumor of "forged bank notes from north Korea,” the commentary observes what is noteworthy is the American public opinion that the above-said rumor was fabricated by the U.S. itself.
All facts go to prove that the rumor about "north Korean forged bank notes" hyped by the U.S. was just part of its smear campaign to isolate and weaken the DPRK.
The recent disclosure of the above-said fact urges the U.S. not to forget the adage that a wicked man is his own hell.

The U.S. desperate effort to label the DPRK a "nuclear proliferator" is also bound to fail.
American newspapers have carried shocking stories recently that senior American officials were involved in selling nuclear technology to other countries. It is something noteworthy that those mandarins took the lead in spreading such technology though they were apt to accuse other countries of "nuclear proliferation." The disclosure of their clandestine dealing in nuclear technology has put this self-styled "nuclear judge" in a very embarrassing position.
The anti-DPRK smear campaign launched by the U.S. is as foolish an act as dropping an axe on its own foot. It would be well advised to stop it and honestly admit to its crimes before the world community, warns the commentary.
S. Korean Judicial Authorities Accused of Protecting GI Criminals
Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- The Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration in south Korea reportedly issued a statement on Jan. 17 denouncing the judicial authorities for patronizing the GIs who committed sexual abuses.
Recalling that some days ago the Seoul High Court held a trial on an appeal of the two criminals of the U.S. forces who were sentenced to three years in jail at the first trial on the charge of sexual abuses at which it commuted the penalty or declared them not guilty, the statement charged that the specter of man-killing judicature is haunting in this land again. It bitterly condemned the judicial group for granting legal privilege to the U.S. forces.
The people of this land will never be able to get rid of pain as long as the U.S. forces remain there, the statement noted, demanding the U.S. forces, a group of war and other criminals, withdraw from south Korea immediately.
Organizations in S. Korea to Vow to Struggle for Independent Reunification
Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- A resolution was reportedly adopted at the meeting for general advance in 2008 held in North Chungchong Province of south Korea on Jan. 12 and 13 to bring about the dawn of independent reunification and people's victory. It was cosponsored by the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration, the Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils.
This year is a year of a great turn in the national history and a year of the general advance to usher in a new era steered by the nation, the resolution said, calling for bringing about a new era of independent reunification, peace and prosperity by the concerted efforts of the nation.
Noting that the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration serve as a landmark of national reunification and, at the same time, a treasured sword for achieving independent reunification, peace and prosperity, the resolution stressed the need to adjust the legal and institutional mechanisms in favor of developing the inter-Korean relations and achieving reunification and intensify in all fields the struggle to get the U.S. forces withdrawn from south Korea as required by the changing situation on the Korean Peninsula and the developing movement.
Preparatory Committees Formed in Foreign Countries
Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- A Swiss preparatory committee was inaugurated with due ceremony on Jan. 12 and an Egyptian preparatory committee on Jan. 13 to commemorate the Day of the Sun and February 16 and the 60th birthday of the DPRK.
Chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee Martin Lotscher was elected chairman of the Swiss preparatory committee.
Vice-Chairman of the National Democratic Party of Egypt Youssef Amin Wali was elected honorary chairman of the Egyptian preparatory committee and Chairman of the Egypt-Korea Friendship Association Siham Ahmad Mugahed its chairman.
The Swiss preparatory committee set the period from Feb. 1 to Sept. 30 as a commemoration period while the Egyptian preparatory committee designated the period from Jan.13 to Sept. 9 as a commemoration period. And the committees decided to hold colorful events during the periods.
Meanwhile, a Pakistani preparatory committee for commemorating the Day of the Sun and February 16 was formed with due ceremony in Karachi on Jan. 12.
The preparatory committee set the period from Feb. 1 to Apr. 25 as a commemoration period and decided to organize various events during the period.
DPRK's Joint New Year Editorial Supported by Egyptian and Guinean Figures
Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- Egyptian and Guinean figures issued statements in support of the joint New Year editorial of the DPRK.
Youssef Amin Wali, vice-chairman of the National Democratic Party of Egypt, in a statement on Jan. 14 said that the October 4 Declaration for Development of North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity is a banner encouraging the Korean people in their struggle to achieve peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and defend world peace and security.
He expressed belief that Kim Jong Il would continue wisely guiding the struggle of the Korean people to advance the cause of national reunification with his unique Songun revolutionary leadership.
Banou Keita, former director general of the Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Science in Guinea, in a statement on Jan. 10 said that the stirring reality the DPRK witnesses today under the outstanding Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il is giving the servicepersons and people of the DPRK great conviction and optimism that the day of victory in building a great, prosperous and powerful nation is sure to come before long.
He expressed belief that under the leadership of Kim Jong Il the Workers' Party of Korea and the army and the people of the DPRK would register great achievements in building a great, prosperous and powerful nation and accomplishing the cause of national reunification this significant year marking the 60th anniversary of the DPRK.

Kim Jong Il ve programas presentados en 18o concurso
Pyongyang, 22 de enero (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il, Secretario General del Partido del Trabajo de Corea y Presidente del Comite de Defensa Nacional de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea, vio los programas presentados en el 18o Concurso y Exhibicion Nacional de Programas.
Le acogieron en el mismo terreno Paek Chon Ho, vicepresidente de la Academia Estatal de Ciencias, Ryu Sun Ryol, rector del Instituto de la Ciencia y Tecnica de Informatica de la Universidad Politecnica Kim Chaek, y otros funcionarios correspondientes.
En el presente certamen estaban exhibidos muchos programas desarrollados por la Universidad Kim Il Sung, la Universidad Politecnica Kim Chaek, la Universidad de Ciencias Naturales y otros planteles docentes, el Centro de Informatica de Pyongyang, la Editora Nacional de Informaciones Cientificas y Tecnicas y otros organos de investigacion.

Hay que seguir encauzando gran fuerza al desarrollo de la tecnologia cibernetica, que desempena un papel importante en el desarrollo y aplicacion de la ciencia y tecnica de punta, destaco el y prosiguio que el Estado debe controlar esta labor de modo unificado y con vistas al futuro, establecer el sistema mas estricto de formacion de reservas para fortalecer las fuerzas tecnicas, disponer de suficientes medios materiales y dar ensenanza sustancial de computacion a los alumnos desde las edades tiernas en los organos docentes.
Para hacer que la tecnologia cibernetica surta efecto en la realizacion de la jucheanizacion, la modernizacion y la cientifizacion de la economia nacional, es preciso desarrollar la industria cibernetica de nuestro modo y desarrollar mayor numero de programas imperiosamente necesarios para nosotros.

Rodong Sinmun denuncia complot de EE.UU. contra la RPDC
Pyongyang, 22 de enero (ATCC) -- Hasta la fecha, Estados Unidos vino difundiendo un paquete de rumores para hacer creer que Corea es la "culpable de proliferacion nuclear" y "falsificadora de billetes".
Pero, en estos dias es criticado y ridiculizado en la escena internacional al revelarse que es precisamente EE.UU. el verdadero culpable de esas acciones ilicitas
En un comentario individual divulgado este martes, el rotativo Rodong Sinmun senala que a principios de este ano, los medios de prensa norteamericanos sacaron a la luz publica la verdad del rumor de "falsificacion de billetes por parte del Norte de Corea".
Lo llamativo del caso es que la opinion publica de EE.UU. tiende a decir que ese rumor es una trama ideada por este imperio, destaco el comentarista y prosiguio:
En fin de cuentas, se desenmascaro a la vista del mundo que la circulacion de ese rumor por EE.UU. no fue otra cosa sino la campana para acorralar y debilitar a la RPDC.
Como reza el refran coreano "Quien quiere hacer dano a otros, sera danado primero", EE.UU. es atacado en la sociedad internacional por haber sido el productor principal de billetes falsos.
Pasa lo mismo en el caso de "proliferacion nuclear".
Los periodicos estadounidenses reportan en estos dias que los funcionarios de alto rango de EE.UU. estuvieron involucrados en la venta de tecnicas nucleares a otros paises.
Esas noticias sensacionales incomodan muchisimo a EE.UU. que actuaba como "juez nuclear" culpando a otros paises en esta materia.
EE.UU. debe poner fin a sus estupidas maniobras de intriga anti-RPDC y confesar sinceramente al mundo sus actos criminales.
Minju Joson critica palabras de Bolton
Pyongyang, 22 de enero (ATCC) -- En un articulo publicado en "Wall Street Journal", el ex embajador estadounidense ante la ONU, Bolton, senalo que "Estados Unidos debe dejar de negociar con el Norte de Corea y volver a la politica intransigente, aprovechando la dilacion de la presentacion del anuncio nuclear del Norte de Corea" y que "debe incorporar al Sur de Corea en el proyecto de la Iniciativa de Seguridad contra la Proliferacion, formar el sistema de cooperacion entre EE.UU., Japon y el Sur de Corea para ejercer presion al Norte de Corea y no borrarlo de la lista de los paises que apoyan al terrorismo".
Tales palabras parten de su malsana intencion de llevar al fracaso el proceso de la desnuclearizacion de la Peninsula Coreana.
Senala asi el rotativo Minju Joson en un comentario individual de este martes y prosigue:
En cuanto a algunos problemas presentados en la segunda etapa para la realizacion de la desnuclearizacion de la Peninsula Coreana, ellos son asuntos ocurridos por las partes interesadas de las conversaciones a 6 bandas que no llevan el mismo ritmo con la ejecucion del deber de la RPDC con respecto al acuerdo.
El proceso de la desnuclearizacion de la Peninsula Coreana puede realizarse solo cuando cada pais participante en esa cita a 6 bandas ejecute con sinceridad su deber en el principio de "accion vs. accion". He aqui la razon por la cual el principio de accion simultanea decide el proceso de dicha desnuclearizacion.
Segun el acuerdo del 3 de octubre de las conversaciones a 6 bandas, EE.UU. se prometio a tachar hasta finales del ano pasado a la RPDC de la lista de los paises que apoyan al terrorismo y no aplicarle la ley de comercio con paises hostiles. Sin embargo, no los cumple todavia. Es natural que en tal circunstancia no podemos ejecutar unilateralmente nuestro deber.
Si de veras EE.UU. desea la promocion del proceso de la desnuclearizacion de la Peninsula Coreana, debe quedar fiel a su deber.
