Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Company
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected a company of KPA Unit 776 honored with the title of O Jung Hup-led Seventh Regiment.
He was accompanied by KPA Generals Hyon Chol Hae and Ri Myong Su.
After acquainting himself with the company's performance of duty, he dropped in at the technical lecture room to learn about how technical study is conducted.
He highly appreciated the successes made by all drivers of the company in the past, saying it is very gratifying that they are taking good care of their trucks, weapons of the revolution, like the apple of their eyes and have steadily raised the driving skill after building up a solid repair base, and thus ensured non-accident run.
Underscoring the need for the drivers to intensify the technical study to steadily raise the level of technique so as to creditably fulfill their combat duty, he set forth the tasks to be implemented by the company.
Then he went round an educational room, a bedroom, a mess hall, a kitchen, a wash-cum-bath house, a barn and other places to take deep care of the living of the soldiers.
Seeing the sideline store fully stacked with materials for non-staple food, he said that all units did the sideline farming well, bringing about unprecedentedly exciting scenery.
This shining result is another precious fruition of the spirit of self-reliance displayed by the servicepersons of the KPA in the era of Songun, he said.
Praising the company for having successfully built cultural and educational and supply service facilities and brought about collective innovations in improving the soldiers' material and cultural life, he called for paying deep attention to the living of the drivers as they always take much trouble of covering long distance.
He had a photo session with the servicepersons of the sub-unit.
KCNA Ridicules U.S. Senator's Foolish Behavior
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- U.S. Senator Brownback was recently reported to have presented to the Administration a bill urging it to put a brake on the process to implement the DPRK-U.S. agreement.
In the bill he was adamant in insisting that the U.S. should not delist the DPRK as a "sponsor of terrorism" and lift the application of the "Trading with the Enemy Act," the commitments to be fulfilled by the U.S. under the agreement between the DPRK and the U.S.
This is ridiculous, indeed.
Brownback is a diehard anti-communist element as he took the lead in fabricating the "North Korean Human Rights Act" based on sheer lies in 2004.
He collected a huge amount of fund on the strength of the act but as it turned out to be futile and infeasible, he was not in a position to make an effective use of the fund only to be jeered and censured by the international community. This is well known a fact.
This guy again busied himself with the presentation of the bill, as if he had nothing else to do, a foolish bid to stop the administration from lifting sanctions against the DPRK.
He seems not to know what the DPRK-U.S. agreement means and what the U.S. strategic interests are.
Irony is that such political imbecile as Mr. Brownback claims to be a senator although he does not know even where he stands. It is not hard to guess what the level of the U.S. politics is.
Explicitly speaking, the DPRK has remained unfazed despite the anti-DPRK sanctions applied by the U.S. for several decades.
The U.S. lifting of the sanctions is, therefore, not what the DPRK has craved for. There would be no change for it whether the U.S. persisted in the sanctions against it or not.
Such conservative hardliners as Brownback calculate they can throw a hurdle in the way of the process of the six-party talks and the DPRK-U.S. relations through such "sanctions". Nothing is, however, more foolish than this.
With no desperate effort can the U.S. conservative hardliners stem the trend of the times towards detente over the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.
Congratulatory Message to Swiss President-elect
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, sent a congratulatory message to Pascal Couchepin on Wednesday, on his election as President of the Swiss Confederation.
Expressing the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Switzerland would further expand and develop in the future, Kim in the message wished the Swiss president great success in his work for the prosperity of the country and the welfare of the people.
Cuban Ambassador to DPRK Hosts Dinner
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Cuban Ambassador to the DPRK Jose Manuel Galego Montano Tuesday hosted a dinner at his embassy on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's assumption of office as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.
Present there were Pak Jae Gyong, vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, Kim Hyong Jun, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned.
On hand there were staff members of the Cuban embassy here.
"Complete Collection of Kim Il Sung's Works" Vol. 72 Off Press
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- The Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House brought out "Complete Collection of Kim Il Sung's Works" Vol. 72, a library of the immortal Juche idea which systematically and comprehensively records famous works of President Kim Il Sung in a chronological order.
The book contains 39 works including reports, speeches and conversations made by the President during the period from August to December Juche 69 (1980).
The President in the work "Report to the Sixth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea on the Work of the Central Committee" reviewed the shining victory achieved in carrying out the three revolutions and precious experience gained during the period under review, declared the modeling of the whole society on the Juche idea as the general task of the Korean revolution and comprehensively indicated important tasks to be fulfilled to implement it and the ways to do so.
He in a series of his works including "On Some Measures to Attain the Ten Long-Term Goals of Socialist Economic Construction" and "On Improving the Guidance of Socialist Economic Construction" set forth tasks to be carried out to effect a fresh surge in the socialist economic construction and the ways to do so.
In "Congratulatory Message to All Servicepersons of the Guard Seoul 105 Tank Division of the Korean People's Army" and other works he defined it as the noble mission of the Korean People's Army to defend the Party and guarantee the accomplishment of its revolutionary cause with arms and set forth militant tasks before the KPA.
Clarified in the works including "Conversation with the Delegation of the Special Measure Committee for Korean Issue of the Japan Socialist Party" are the importance of the non-aligned movement in building an independent new world opposed to the imperialists and all other hegemonic forces in the present times and the main principle to be observed in expanding and developing the NAM.
The book also contains other works calling on the organizations of the League of Socialist Working Youth of Korea and the Children's Union of schools at different levels and all the school youth and children to dynamically stage a diverse do-good-thing movement and urging the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan to develop in depth the drive for modeling its ranks on the Juche idea.
Revolutionary Museum Draws Large Crowd of Visitors
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- The Revolutionary Museum at the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces is now crowded with visitors everyday on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's assumption of office as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.
Servicepersons and people of different strata visiting the museum are replete with their absolute trust and deep reverence for Kim Jong Il who is bringing about the great heyday of building the revolutionary armed forces with courage and spirit of Mt. Paektu.
The "Room Devoted to the Songun Revolutionary Leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Il", which makes one recall his immortal Songun feats with deep emotion, draws particular attention of the visitors.
They looked round with deep emotion the historic materials and relics telling about the historical facts that Kim Jong Il unrolled a Juche-oriented programme for building the army and has developed the KPA into a genuine army of the leader, the party and people.
They were deeply moved to see the historic materials dealing with the leadership traits of Kim Jong Il who has shown deep care for the servicepersons so that they might grow to be a-match-for-a hundred fighters and materials introducing the histories of the KPA units inspected by the brilliant commander of Songun.
Going round historic materials and relics, they more deeply grasped the validity and tremendous vitality of the Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il.
A great many overseas Koreans and foreign friends also have visited the museum.
A total of more than 3.35 million servicepersons and people from all walks of life have visited the museum over the past 16 years.
Sinpha Revolutionary Site
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- There is the Sinpha Revolutionary Site in Ryanggang Province, the northern region of Korea, which conveys the immortal feats of anti-Japanese woman hero Kim Jong Suk.
It is a historic place where she undertook revolutionary activities on the mission of underground political work assigned her by President Kim Il Sung in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle.
She firmly built up organizations of the Party and the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland in this area in June Juche 26 (1937), turning it into a strong base for expanding the networks of the underground revolutionary organization in a wide area of the country.
There stands a bronze statue of Kim Jong Suk in military uniform, holding her military cap in one hand and tightly grasping a pistol case in the other. There are also the Kwangson Photo Studio (two-storeyed wooden building), the Sokjon Tailor's Shop, the Sinpha Peddler's Inn, the Singalpha Ferry and other venues of her underground political activities.
The Sinpha Revolutionary Museum was opened in October 1974. On display at the museum are materials of her overall revolutionary activities, mainly the feats performed by her in the period of underground political activities in the homeland.
Relics showing her revolutionary activities are preserved in the original state.
Working people of all strata and school youth and children are visiting the place in an endless stream on the occasion of her 90th birth anniversary.
Looking round the revolutionary relics, the visitors bring home to themselves her steadfast spirit of devotedly defending the leader and her warm love for the country and the people.
According to data available, more than 4,195,000 people have visited the revolutionary site since its opening.
Sanatoriums, Rest Homes and Cultural Resorts Facelifted
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Sanatoriums, rest homes, beauty spots and resorts have been rebuilt or repaired this year in the DPRK to give fuller scope to the popular policies of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Officials of the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Labour and provincial people's committees, bearing deep in their minds the slogan of the WPK "We Serve the People!", successfully undertook the reconstruction of tens of sanatoriums in different parts of the country including Kim Jong Suk Sanatorium, Chongsan Mineral Water Sanatorium and Naegok Spa Sanatorium so as to deliver better medical care to people.
The rest homes throughout the country were furnished in a modern way as required by the Songun era with the Myohyangsan Rest Home as a model.
The scenic spots and the resorts are being spruced up day by day.
The beauty spot on Mt. Paekun was newly built and Mt. Kuwol and Mt. Jangsu were arranged better as cultural rest sites for the people.
As a result, the working people can lead a cultural and emotional life in Ulrim Falls, Yaksandongdae, the area of Mt. Ryongak and other scenic spots and famous places.
The reconstruction of Songdowon, Majon and other recreation grounds, Ryongmun Cavern, Songam Cavern and the beauty spots in Mt. Chilbo and Chongsokjong have been undertaken in earnest to change their looks beyond recognition.

Japan's Hostile Policy toward DPRK Bound to Fail
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- This year is characterized by Japan's pursuance of extreme policy of confrontation with the DPRK in a bid to go without settling its past crimes, seek a basic way out in realizing its ambition to emerge a military giant and launch reinvasion and tide over its deepening political and economic crisis, Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes this in a signed article. Stressing that this policy failure is unavoidable, the article goes on: This year Japan has intensified more frantically than ever before its smear propaganda and diplomatic offensive against the DPRK and the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and tightened sanctions against the DPRK in a bid to impair their prestige and dignity over the abduction issue. It, in collusion with the U.S., has worked hard to put the DPRK under the military siege and stage a comeback to Korea.
The reckless hysteria of the Japanese reactionaries was nothing but the desperate wriggling of political dwarfs and ferocious militarists driven into a dilemma, as they are at a loss to find a right path for the state to follow in the new century.
Japan's pursuance of extreme hostile policy toward the DPRK this year could not help stem the trend on the Korean Peninsula toward detente, reconciliation and cooperation. In the meantime, the DPRK's prestige and dignity have been exalted.
Japan has left no means untried to put a brake on the process of improving the DPRK-U.S. relations but in vain. There occurred changes as evidenced by multifaceted dialogue and contacts between the DPRK and the U.S.
Japan, on the contrary, has found itself deep in the mire of international isolation.
Serious differences surfaced in the Japan-U.S. relations, too.
Japan's moves to lay an international siege to the DPRK and tarnish its prestige and dignity have proved futile this year.
The failure of Japan's hostile policy toward the DPRK this year is attributable to the fact that Japan blindly followed the U.S. without independence and behaved impertinently guided by the militarist way of thinking.
Ri Hoe Chang's Ambition to Grab Power Assailed
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- The International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea issued a communique on Dec. 13 denouncing traitor Ri Hoe Chang's ambition to grab power as a dangerous move to revive the fascist regime in south Korea and bring the inter-Korean relations to those in the era of confrontation between Koreans.
The communique expressed deep concern about the traitor's ambition to seize power, recalling that the committee along with all people of the world desirous of the reunification and peace on the Korean Peninsula which are vital to ensuring the world peace and security hope for the victory of the progressive forces in the "presidential elections" in south Korea.
It bitterly assailed Ri Hoe Chang for his reckless remarks intended to bring to naught all the progress made in the work to achieve the reconciliation between the north and the south and ensure lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula since the publication of the historic June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.
Ri Hoe Chang's Scheme to Rally Pro-U.S. Conservative Forces under Fire in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification reportedly released a statement on December 16 blasting traitor and war fanatic Ri Hoe Chang for its scheme to rally pro-U.S. conservative forces.
The statement accused Ri Hoe Chang, a politician on death-bed, of working hard to rally pro-U.S. conservative forces, ballyhooing about what he called "genuine conservatism" and "rally of new orthodox conservatives."
Such scheme of Ri Hoe Chang is nothing but a reckless move of a war fanatic keen to wrest power and bring a horrible disaster to this land, held the statement.
The pro-U.S., anti-reunification forces should never be allowed to set foot and seek a chance to survive as they are swimming against the trend of the times when the spirit of "By our nation itself" is running higher than ever before, the statement noted, calling on the democratic forces to win victory in the forthcoming "presidential elections" without fail to usher in an era of national prosperity.
Important Days of DPRK Marked
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- A seminar, a lecture, a photo exhibition and film shows were held in Egypt, South Africa and the Czech Republic in the period from Dec. 3 to 9 on the occasions of the 16th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's assumption of office as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army and the 90th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk.
Displayed in the venues of the functions were famous works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and photos showing the greatness of the three generals of Mt. Paektu and books and photos introducing the might of Songun.
Chairman of the Egyptian Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea Yehia Zakaria Khairullah at the seminar praised Kim Jong Il for having developed the KPA into an invincible army which no huge enemy dares provoke and brought about epoch-making changes on the land of Korea under the uplifted banner of Songun.
He noted that the greatest feat performed by Kim Jong Suk was that she firmly defended Kim Il Sung politically and ideologically at the cost of her life and gave birth to Kim Jong Il and brought him up as the reliable successor to the revolutionary cause of Juche.

Pyongyang, 19 de diciembre (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il, Secretario General del Partido del Trabajo de Corea, Presidente del Comite de Defensa Nacional de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea y Comandante Supremo del Ejercito Popular de Corea inspecciono la Unidad No. 1701 del EPC.
Luego de enterarse del estado del cumplimiento del deber de la unidad, el Comandante Supremo vio ejercicios de manejo de canones de los militares. Se mostro satisfecho de que todos los uniformados se prepararon como los valerosos combatientes capaces de combatir uno contra cien enemigos para salvaguardar con firmeza a la patria socialista e indico las tareas que se presentan en el mayor fortalecimiento de la combatividad de la unidad.
El Dirigente recorrio la sala de educacion, la biblioteca y otras instalaciones culturales y educativas y entendio el estado de la vida cultural de los militares.
Hizo conocimiento del uso de los equipos culturales y los libros de diversos generos, exhibidos en la sala de educacion y la biblioteca y al ver una funcion artistica de los militares y evaluo el hecho de que se crearon las condiciones suficientes de modo que los soldados puedan hacer siempre descanso cultural y senalo que a traves de la variada vida cultural, hay que elevar el nivel de conocimiento y la preparacion cultural de los soldados para formarlos como seres humanos multilateralmente desarrollados.
Luego, el Comandante Supremo recorrio el dormitorio, comedor, sala de elaboracion de alimentos subsidiarios y otras instalaciones de intendencia. Se mostro muy satisfecho de que la unidad no solo se dispuso bien de las instalaciones de intendencia necesarias a la vida de los soldados, organizo mejor la labor del servicio de abastecimiento y creo excelentes condiciones de comida sino tambien hizo bien la preparacion para invierno y evaluo altamente sus exitos.

Conducta estupida del gangster politico -Comentario de ATCC-
Pyongyang, 19 de diciembre (ATCC) -- Hace unos dias, el senador norteamericano Brownback presento a la administracion un "proyecto de ley" orientado a frenar la implementacion del acuerdo entre la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea y Estados Unidos.
En ese proyecto el abogo con entusiasmo por no tachar a la RPDC en la "lista de los paises que apoyan el terrorismo" ni desactivar la "ley de comercio con paises hostiles" puesta en vigor contra esta, a lo cual se ha comprometido EE.UU. en el citado acuerdo.
Back es anticomunista extremado que se puso en la delantera en fraguar en 2004 la "ley de derechos humanos del Norte de Corea" a base de datos fraudulentos, en virtud de la cual recibio muchos fondos.
Sin embargo, impotente de hacer valer esa ley tan absurda, el no pudo hacer algo aun con esos fabulosos recursos financieros siendo criticado y burlado por la sociedad internacional.
Parece que ese tipejo presento ese proyecto de ley encaminado a frenar el levantamiento de la sancion anti-RPDC para mostrar que no esta holgazaneando.
Es muy probable que Back no sepa el significado del acuerdo RPDC-EE.UU. ni los intereses estrategicos del segundo.
Pero, ese ignorante actua a sus caprichos nada menos como congresista, lo que permite evaluar el nivel de la politica de EE.UU.
La RPDC vivio hasta la fecha sin vacilacion alguna aun siendo sancionada por EE.UU. durante varios decenios.
Por tal razon, nunca espero con ansiedad el levantamiento de la sancion contra si misma.
No habra ningun cambio en la RPDC aunque EE.UU. la sancione o no.
No pasa de ser un gesto imprudente y estupido el procedimiento de las fuerzas conservadoras intransigentes de EE.UU. como Back quienes tratan de impedir con la "sancion" el avance de las conversaciones a 6 bandas y de las relaciones con la RPDC.
Ellas nunca podran invertir la corriente de la epoca actual hacia el relajamiento en cuanto al problema nuclear de la Peninsula Coreana.
Embajador cubano ofrece cena por efemeride coreana
Pyongyang, 19 de diciembre (ATCC) -- El embajador extraordinario y plenipotenciario de la Republica de Cuba en Corea, Jose Manuel Galego Montano, ofrecio el dia 18 una cena en su sede diplomatica con motivo del 16 aniversario del nombramiento del Dirigente Kim Jong Il como Comandante Supremo del Ejercito Popular de Corea.
En la ocasion fueron invitados el viceministro de las Fuerzas Armadas Populares Pak Jae Gyong, el vicecanciller Kim Hyong Jun y otros funcionarios coreanos.
Tambien estuvieron presentes los miembros de la embajada cubana.

Pyongyang, 19 de diciembre (ATCC) -- La Editora del Partido del Trabajo de Corea dio a luz el tomo 72 de las "Obras completas de Kim Il Sung", ciclo de la inmortal idea Juche que recoge sistematica y globalmente por orden cronologico sus imperecederas obras clasicas.
El tomo 72 recoge 39 trabajos del Presidente Kim Il Sung, entre otros, informes, discursos y charlas pronunciados en un periodo de agosto a diciembre del 69 (1980) de la Era Juche.
En el "Informe sobre las labores del Comite Central, presentado ante el VI Congreso del Partido del Trabajo de Corea" el Presidente hizo balance de las brillantes victorias y las valiosas experiencias logradas en el cumplimiento de las tres revoluciones (ideologia, tecnica y cultura) durante el periodo de revision, proclamo como deber general de la revolucion coreana la transformacion de toda la sociedad segun la idea Juche e ilumino globalmente las tareas programaticas y los medios para cumplirla.
Tambien, en las obras "Sobre algunas medidas para alcanzar los 10 objetivos en perspectiva de la construccion economica socialista", "Para mejorar e intensificar la direccion sobre la construccion economica socialista" y otras dilucido las tareas y los medios para producir el nuevo auge en la construccion economica socialista.
En la obra "Mensaje de felicitacion a todos los oficiales y soldados de la division de tanques No. 105 Seul de Vanguardia del Ejercito Popular de Corea" y otras definio como sublime mision del ejercito popular el apoyar y defender al partido y asegurar con las fuerzas armadas la realizacion de la causa revolucionaria del partido y presento las tareas combativas que se presentan ante el ejercito popular.
En la "Charla con la delegacion del comite especial de medidas del problema coreano del Partido Socialista de Japon" y otras obras se refirio a la importancia que reviste el movimiento de no alineacion para oponerse al imperialismo y todas las demas fuerzas dominacionistas y construir un nuevo mundo independiente en la epoca actual e indico los principios fundamentales para ampliar y desarrollar este movimiento.
El tomo contiene otras obras que senalan la necesidad de que desplieguen dinamicamente el movimiento por hacer varios trabajos utiles las organizaciones de la Union de la Juventud Trabajadora Socialista y la Union de Ninos y todos los jovenes y ninos escolares y de que la Asociacion General de Coreanos Residentes en Japon profundice y desarrolle la labor para armar con la idea juche a todas sus filas.
