KCNA Urges Japan to Drop Its Hostile Policy towards DPRK

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- Japan is persisting in its hostile policy towards the DPRK, swimming against the trend of the times.
Japanese Prime Minister Fukuda, when interviewed by CNN some time ago, talked rubbish that the DPRK would disappear from the surface of the earth unless it dismantles its nuclear program and it should settle the "abduction" issue if it is to receive financial support from Japan.
Meanwhile, a human rights special envoy of the Japanese Foreign Ministry went so reckless as to slander the DPRK again, jabbering that many Japanese spouses of Koreans are "deserting their places" in the DPRK due to their "miserable living" after being deceived by propaganda to go there. These are nothing but ridiculous remarks which can be let loose only by those who do not know where they stand, obsessed with the hostile policy towards the DPRK.
Japan is standing further isolated in the international arena as it has not yet opted for implementing the agreement adopted at the six-party talks.
The Reuters recently said that Japan is lagging behind in hosting international conferences because of its cool relations with Asian countries. It explicitly pointed out that this is a clear indication of Japan's international isolation.
There is a saying "Dogs bark as they are bred." The anti-DPRK smear campaign serves as a ruling physiology of the present Japanese authorities.
The international community ridicules Japan for clinging to the "abduction" issue only and urges it to face up to the trend of the times and behave itself.
Japan would be well advised to lend an ear to the voices of the international community, though belatedly.

KCNA Blasts U.S. Conservative Hard-liners' Moves to Deter DPRK-U.S. Relations from Improving

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- U.S. conservative hard-liners are going reckless in their moves to bring the DPRK-U.S. relations back to those of acute confrontation.
Shortly ago, the Wall Street Journal called on the Bush administration to stick to the DPRK policy it pursued in its early days, asserting that the administration's drastic switchover in its policy toward the DPRK would adversely affect the U.S.-Japan alliance.
Earlier, Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the UN, in his autobiography blustered that it was good that Japan linked the "abduction issue" with the nuclear issue, while seriously provoking the DPRK. He, when addressing representatives of anti-DPRK plot-breeding organizations in Japan, went the lengths of crying out for building up opinion among Congressmen and others that the DPRK should not be de-listed as a "sponsor of terrorism" with ease.
There is a sign of echoing this voice at U.S. Congress, too.
This is an unpardonable challenge to the unanimous desire of the international community for peace and stability in Northeast Asia as it is a manifestation of extreme hostility toward the DPRK and Cold War-minded view on confrontation which call for isolating and stifling the DPRK, invariably considering it as an enemy.
As already clarified, the DPRK's access to nukes despite manifold difficulties was to cope with the U.S. continued hostile policy toward the DPRK and threat posed by it.
It is, therefore, an absolute pre-condition for the DPRK's abandonment of its nuclear program for the U.S. to drop its hostile policy toward the DPRK. The DPRK can never abandon its nuclear program unless the U.S. rolls back its hostile policy toward the DPRK.
The U.S. conservative hard-liners might know well how the DPRK reacted to the Bush administration's unilateral demand for the abandonment of the nuclear program.
However, they are clinging to a trite method to maintain Cold War on the Korean Peninsula in a bid to fish in troubled waters.
What they seek is to rattle the DPRK's nerves without let-up in a bid to make it pull out of the denuclearization process and shift the responsibility for it on to the DPRK.
Their calculation is that this would provide favorable conditions for justifying its neo Cold War strategy aimed at escalating international tension under the pretext of "preventing the spread of WMD" and for such guys as Bolton to return to the administration. No wonder, U.S. media reported that the conservative hard-liners led by Cheney within the Bush administration are watching for a chance to rise again.
We don't care whether the U.S. conservative hard-liners support the pragmatic policy towards the DPRK or stoke hysteria of confrontation and whether they put the U.S.-Japan alliance above denuclearization or not.
We are not serious about the U.S. improving its relations with the DPRK because even its move to bring those relations back to what was before would do the latter nothing bad.

Socialism Hailed as Ideal of Mankind

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- It is the ideal and wish of humankind to enjoy independent life free from all sorts of domination, subjugation, exploitation and plunder, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a signed article. The popular masses can realize this ideal, enjoying genuine freedom and rights in the socialist society only, the article notes, and goes on:
Socialism is the most progressive idea reflecting man's intrinsic demand.
The socialist idea is that of the working class but it does not represent the interests of the working class only. It is a universal idea of humankind reflecting social nature and the interests of man.
The socialist idea is an idea not only for the working class emancipation but for the liberation of nations and mankind as it reflects the desire of all the nations and mankind for independence. It is an inexorable law governing the development of history for human society to develop from capitalism to socialism. Mankind's desire to live independently and peacefully can be achieved only when they take the road of socialism.

Socialism alone can ensure lasting peace and security of the world guaranteeing the existence and development of mankind.

Faith in socialism and will to defend it is based on the confidence in the advantages and vitality of socialism.
Socialism is sure to achieve its final victory as it is the ideal of mankind, concludes the article.

All-out Actions against Corruption and Ri Hoe Chang Called for in S. Korea

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The November 25 issue of the south Korean Internet newspaper Jaju Minbo carried an article titled "Let us concentrate all efforts on the actions against corruption and Ri Hoe Chang" contributed by Choe Han Uk, permanent researcher of the south Korean Institute for Civic Rights under the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration.
Noting that Ri is not qualified to run for "presidency" as he is working with bloodshot eyes to wrest power, the article stressed the need to focus all efforts on the all-people's struggle against corruption and Ri in order to completely eliminate the Cold War-minded corrupt forces through the forthcoming "presidential elections."
The article called upon the pro-reform progressive camp to wage an all-out struggle against Ri and thus make a breakthrough in deterring the pro-U.S. conservative forces from grabbing power.
It also underscored the need to roundly expose irregularities and corruption of Ri and form an all-people front of the struggle against irregularities and conservatism.
It called for launching an all-out struggle against conservatism in order to ensure the victory of the democratic forces aspiring after new politics in the "presidential elections" and thus force Ri and the pro-U.S. conservative forces to suffer another disgraceful defeat in the "elections."

Second "Day of All-People Action" Observed in S. Korea

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The second struggle on the "day of all-people action in 2007 for checking the conclusion of the south Korea-U.S. FTA, abolishing the part-time jobs and achieving peace against war" was staged on December 1 with at least 50,000 people from all walks of life across south Korea attending, according to a news report.
Members of civic and social organizations including the Solidarity for Progress of south Korea held a rally in front of the Posin Pavilion in Jongro, Seoul.
Speakers at the rally declared that they would surely mete out a judgment to the forces that have committed irregularities and corruption through the forthcoming "presidential elections", warning that if those forces including Ri Hoe Chang are allowed to come to power, they will throw the people into greater distress.

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea released a joint statement on December 1 assailing traitor Ri Hoe Chang of south Korea for his ambition to grab power.
The statement strongly denounced Ri Hoe Chang and the pro-U.S. right-wing forces for foolishly trying to wrest power in south Korea in a bid to scrap the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and suppress the people.
If Ri Hoe Chang is allowed to grab power, he will reduce south Korea to a slave of the U.S. again and bring back the era when such traitors as Syngman Rhee, Park Chung Hee and Chun Doo Hwan domineered its people, the statement held.
Stressing that Ri Hoe Chang should never be allowed to realize his reactionary attempt to grab power, the statement expressed solidarity with the youth and students and the progressive forces in south Korea in their struggle to eliminate the pro-U.S. conservative forces keen to grab power.
