Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, met and had a friendly conversation with the delegation of the Laos-Korea Friendship Association led by its Chairman Tong Yeu Tho at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Wednesday.

Gift to Kim Jong Il from Lao Delegation
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il was presented with a gift by the visiting delegation of the Laos-Korea Friendship Association.
It was handed today to Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, by Tong Yeu Tho, chairman of the association who is heading the delegation.
Greetings to Chief of Palestinian National Authority
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Wednesday sent a message of greetings to Mahmoud Abbas, chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and chief of the Palestinian National Authority, on the occasion of the "day of world solidarity with the Palestinian people".
Kim Yong Nam in his message noted that the Palestinian people are now waging a vigorous struggle to smash the moves of the hostile forces including Israel to cause internal division and regain the national rights including the right to self-determination and the right to found an independent state.
Reiterating the stand of the government and the people of the DPRK to support the just cause of the Palestinian people, Kim Yong Nam wished the chief success in his work.
Homage Paid to President Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Participants in the national meeting of intellectuals visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace on Wednesday to pay homage to President Kim Il Sung.
They went to the sacred temple of Juche with their ardent yearning and boundless reverence for the President, who put forward the intellectuals as a main component of the driving forces of the revolution in his early years, penetrating deep into the position and role to be taken and performed by them in the revolutionary struggle and the building of a new society.
The visitors paid highest tribute to him who advanced the unique policy towards intellectuals and creditably implemented it in the whole historic course of his revolutionary leadership, while taking care of and leading them with warm love and trust.
Vaccination for Children
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Vaccination is undertaken under the care of the state in the DPRK.
All the therapeutic centers gave various preventive injections to the children of preschool age this year according to their annual inoculation plans. And they took a wide range of health care measures several times to improve the immunity of the children in sight, respiratory system, etc.
The work for the extermination of intestinal worms was done by the measure of the state.
Work was undertaken for the extermination of intestinal worms among the children under 5 in May and among the school children under 17 in November.
The vaccination for the children was carried out simultaneously at the people's hospitals and clinics, nurseries, kindergartens, primary and middle schools all over the country.

Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- The DPRK is bending efforts for the creation of forests, registering noticeable results.
The working people serving in afforestation have planted trees in over 66,000 hectares this year.
Thus they have made it possible to increase the forest resources of the country under a far-reaching plan.
Industrial forest management stations in cities and counties across the country including Kanggye City, Tokchon City and Tongchang County have endeavored to nurse good species of saplings suitable to the local features. They planted lots of trees in spring and autumn, lifting their rooting rate to more than 80 percent.
Various units including Hoeryong City and Phangyo County industrial forest management stations nursed sturdy saplings by producing large quantities of organic fertilizers in keeping with their specific conditions, while actively introducing a scientific sapling-nursing method.
The Rimyongsu Forestry Station built sapling greenhouses suitable to the local features and produced 400,000 saplings even under the unfavorable climatic condition.
In the Tuman River district 700,000-odd fast-growing poplar saplings were grown and sent to industrial forest management stations in North Hamgyong and Ryanggang Provinces.
Heavily Armed (Mail-Clad) Cavalrymen of Koguryo
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- The Korean nation made distinguished development in armament in the Middle Ages.
Koguryo (277 B.C.- 668 A.D.), a powerful state which existed for a thousand years, always inflicted wholesale deaths on the enemies in battles against foreign invaders by forming units of heavily armed cavalrymen in which not only the soldiers but also the horses were clad in armor.
Koguryo inherited the developed iron processing art of Ancient Korea, which it widely introduced into arms.
This is well illustrated by the models of horses in armor found in the historical remain in Chol Pass, Kangwon Province, tomb mural paintings of the Koguryo period such as the tomb murals of the Yaksu-ri, King Kogukwon's Mausoleum, the twin-pillared tomb, etc.
The models of horses and tomb murals vividly depict the then soldiers wearing helmets, coats of mail with sleeves reaching the tips of the hands and trousers long enough to reach the tiptoes. They also show horses wearing helmets and armors with the hems reaching their carpi.

U.S. Ambition for Military Supremacy under Fire

According to news report, the recent conference of the U.S. Senate approved the military budget for the fiscal 2008 amounting to 459 billion U.S. dollars. Big portion of this fund will be diverted to the production of a space bomber called "Falcon." The U.S. warlike forces are scheming to deploy this new type of space bomber for attack in their mainland and promptly strike and destroy any targets on the globe.
What should not be overlooked is the fact that the U.S. war hawks are busying themselves developing HCV (hypersonic cruise vehicle) allegedly to mount preemptive attack on what they call nuclear-launching pads in some countries, including the DPRK.
The fact goes to prove that they zealously seek to contain those countries refusing to fawn upon the U.S. and gratify their ambition for world supremacy by accelerating the development and production of new space arms to secure the military edge.
To attain the above-said aims, they have also been hell-bent on increasing modern nuclear arms such as development of smaller nukes, with continued investment of colossal amount of money, disregarding the just demand of the international community for nuclear disarmament.
Some time ago, a spokesman for the Missile Defense Agency of the U.S. Department of Defense announced that the U.S. deployed tens of interceptor missiles aiming at north Korea in Alaska and California. This is an undisguised military provocation and threat and blackmail to the DPRK.
The U.S. is busy with the arms buildup and the moves to provoke a war while reinforcing armaments on a large scale to realize its wild ambition for military supremacy and domination over the world. As a result, the situation is getting strained and the danger of war is increasing in different areas of the world.
The U.S. warlike forces should discard their anachronistic design to grab military supremacy and hold sway over the world.
Intellectuals Called for Performing Great Feats in Building Great Prosperous Powerful Nation

S. Korean Military Authorities' Submission to U.S. Assailed
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification and the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification in south Korea reportedly called a joint press conference in front of the Defence Ministry building in Seoul on Nov. 22 to denounce the pro-American submissive behavior of the military authorities seeking to purchase the scrap ammunitions of the U.S. forces.
Noting that the military authorities conducted a "performance test" of the ammunitions scrapped by the U.S. forces present in south Korea and opened its results to the press, speakers said at the conference: The "test" was made when the authorities were rushing the work to take over the war supplies from the U.S. forces in south Korea. It is nothing but a perfunctory play to justify the purchase of the war supplies which are little different from rubbish.
The authorities are planning to spend trillions of won for the purchase of the above-said war supplies, asserting that they can be used for good as they have been treasured, the speakers pointed out, declaring that they would not pardon the U.S., who usurps the tremendous tax collected from the south Korean people in return for its waste ammunitions, and the Defence Ministry kowtowing to the U.S.
After the conference the members of the organizations staged a protest, throwing eggs at the signboard of the ministry.
Meanwhile, fishermen residing around the combined firing-range in Thaean County, South Chungchong Province, where the "test" was conducted, strongly urged the military authorities to make compensation for the damage.
Joint Seminar on Songun Policy Held in Nigeria
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- A joint seminar on the Songun policy took place in Abuja of Nigeria on Nov. 15.
M. M. Alhassan, chairman of the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, at the seminar made a report titled "The great Songun policy is an ever-victorious banner" and several other figures spoke on the subjects of "The historical background against which the Songun policy was set forth", "The reality of Korea where the Songun policy is in force ", etc.
The reporter and speakers referred to the fact that upon embarking on the road of revolution in his early years President Kim Il Sung fathered the Juche idea and the Songun idea through a practical struggle.
They noted that Kim Jong Il has further developed in depth the Songun idea in the course of leading the revolution and construction and enforced the original Songun policy.
The Songun policy calls for putting forward the army as the main force of the revolution and carrying out the revolution and construction in reliance upon it, they said, noting: By thoroughly implementing this policy the DPRK could firmly protect the sovereignty of the country and the dignity of the people and bring about the dawn of a great prosperous powerful nation in the most difficult period.
They stressed that today the Songun idea and policy serve as the guidelines to be consistently held fast to by the world progressives desirous of independence and as an ever-lasting banner of victory.
Ri Hoe Chang's Ambition to Grab Power Assailed
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- Kwon Chon Sik, chairman of the United Confederation of Koreans in the Far Eastern Region of Russia, released a statement on Nov. 21 assailing political imposter Ri Hoe Chang's ambition to wrest power.
Accusing Ri, human scum, of running amuck to come to power in south Korea, making a mockery of the justice and conscience oblivious of his crime-woven past, the statement branded Ri as a die-hard anti-reunification element, a political charlatan and a kingpin of irregularities and corruption.
It is nothing but a daydream for this despicable guy to try hard to take the "presidential office" in a bid to gratify his greed for power, the statement noted, and continued:
Ri is a pro-U.S. sycophantic traitor who kowtows towards the U.S. and human scum as he embezzled truck loads of money amounting to astronomical figures and accumulated wealth through all sorts of irregularities and swindles.

Se inicia II ronda de conversaciones entre titulares militares Norte-Sur
Pyongyang, 28 de noviembre (ATCC) -- Comenzo el dia 27 en esta capital la segunda ronda de conversaciones entre los ministros de Fuerzas Armadas del Norte y el Sur de Corea.
En esta ocasion participaron la delegacion de la parte Norte encabezada por el ministro de las Fuerzas Armadas Populares, Kim Il Chol, y la delegacion de la parte Sur presidida por el ministro de Defensa y delegado-jefe Kim Jang Su.
Ambas partes discutieron las medidas militares para la ejecucion de la "Declaracion para el Desarrollo de las Relaciones Norte-Sur, la Paz y la Prosperidad".
El jefe de la delegacion nortena dijo que para ejecutar consecuentemente la historica Declaracion del 4 de Octubre es importante sobre todo tener correcta concepcion del problema de la paz del pais y continuo:
Ante todo, es preciso comprender que el problema de la paz de Corea es un asunto para eliminar la tension y confrontacion militares y prevenir el peligro de la guerra.
En segundo lugar, debemos entender que el problema mencionado es el mas apremiante que debe ser solucionado con mayor prioridad entre todos los problemas que surgen entre el Norte y el Sur.
Ademas, hay que tener una nueva concepcion de que el problema de la paz de Corea debe ser solucionado conforme a la exigencia de la epoca de reunificacion iniciada el 15 de junio.
A continuacion, aclaro la posicion de principios del Ejercito Popular de Corea sobre las medidas militares que se presentan en la ejecucion de la historica Declaracion del 4 de Octubre y presento los remedios para materializarlas:
Primero, las autoridades militares de ambas partes deben tomar medidas sustanciales para poner fin a las relaciones militares hostiles y asegurar el aflojamiento de la tension y la paz.
Segundo, las autoridades militares de ambas partes deben tomar medidas practicas para rechazar la guerra y observar consecuentemente las obligaciones de no-agresion.
Tercero, las autoridades militares de ambas partes deben cooperarse en el campo militar para que los jefes de Estado, vinculados a la eliminacion del sistema de armisticio y a la implantacion del sistema de paz, puedan declarar cuanto antes el fin de la guerra.
Cuarto, las autoridades militares de ambas partes deben tomar las medidas para asegurar en lo militar las labores de cooperacion e intercambio Norte-Sur.
Por ultimo, Kim Il Chol exhorto a las autoridades militares de ambas partes a unir las fuerzas con el espiritu de "entre nosotros, los connacionales" previendo no solo el presente sino tambien el futuro de la nacion coreana para hacer gran aporte a la paz del pais, al relajamiento de la tension militar y al desarrollo de las relaciones Norte-Sur en su conjunto.

Pyongyang, 28 de noviembre (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il recibio presente que le dirigiera la delegacion de la Asociacion de Amistad Laos-Corea presidida por su presidente Tong Yeu Tho, de visita en Corea.
El jefe de la delegacion lo traslado este miercoles a Kim Yong Nam, presidente del Presidium de la Asamblea Popular Suprema de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea.

Rodong Sinmun critica ambicion de EE.UU. de tomar supremacia militar
Pyongyang, 28 de noviembre (ATCC) -- Tomar con las fuerzas el control sobre todo el mundo es la invariable ambicion de las fuerzas belicistas de Estados Unidos.
Lo comprueban claramente sus imprudentes acciones que se tornan cada dia mas freneticas.
Senala asi el diario Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual de este miercoles y prosigue:
Segun fuentes noticieras, en una reciente reunion conjunta del senado estadounidense se aprobo el presupuesto de defensa nacional para el ano fiscal 2008, que se totaliza en 459 mil millones de US$. Una buena parte de ese monto se asignara a la fabricacion de cazabombardero espacial llamado "Falcon".
Es que los belicistas estadounidenses intentan emplazar en su territorio esa aeronave ofensiva para atacar y eliminar con rapidez cualesquier blancos en el globo terraqueo.
Lo mas alarmante del caso es que ellos desarrollan un aparato aereo supersonico pretextando atacar preventivamente las lanzaderas de armas nucleares de algunos paises, inclusive la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea.
Tales hechos prueban que los belicistas estadounidenses aceleran el desarrollo y la produccion de nuevas armas espaciales para tomar la supremacia militar, doblegar con la fuerza a los paises que no les agradan y llevar a la realidad su ambicion de controlar a todo el mundo.
En ese contexto, malgastan fabulosos fondos en el aumento de las fuerzas nucleares modernas como el desarrollo de miniartefactos nucleares desoyendo la justa demanda de la sociedad internacional sobre el desarme nuclear.
Hace poco, un portavoz de la Agencia de Defensa de Misiles del Departamento de Defensa norteamericano dijo que en Alaska y California estan emplazados decenas de misiles interceptores, que apuntan al Norte de Corea, lo cual deviene una abierta provocacion militar y amenaza a este.
Debido a EE.UU., que incrementa los gastos militares para provocar guerras, se torna tensa la situacion y se agranda el peligro de guerra en varias regiones del orbe.
Las fuerzas belicistas estadounidenses deben abandonar su vana y anacronica ilusion de tomar la hegemonia militar para controlar el mundo a su antojo.
