Japanese Dietmen's Group Visit to "Yasukuni Shrine" under Fire

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionary conservative forces' visit to "Yasukuni Shrine" aimed to rapidly revive the militarist idea came under fire by Rodong Sinmun Monday.
Shortly ago, nearly 70 Dietmen belonging to the Association of Dietmen for visiting "Yasukuni Shrine" flocked to the shrine. They talked rubbish, expressing regret at the fact that the prime minister and cabinet ministers did not visit it, a news analyst notes, and goes on:
This proves that by pressurizing politicians who did not visit the shrine the Japanese reactionaries seek to put the group visit of the ruling quarters to the shrine on a regular and traditional basis in a bid to let militarism prevail in the Japanese society and call back the departed soul of militarism and thus launch reinvasion come what may.
The Japanese ultra-right conservatives are contemplating converting the shrine into a state cemetery so that all Japanese including political heavyweights may regularly visit it.
This is nothing but a criminal move to arm the Japanese with militarist idea and militarize Japan. The ulterior aim sought by the Japanese reactionaries is to militarize Japan and realize their overseas aggression. Herein lies the serious and dangerous nature of the Japanese reactionary conservatives' visit to the shrine.
Whether the Japanese reactionary quarters visit the shrine or not is a touchstone showing whether Japan opts for peace after redressing its crime-woven past or pursues militarism and reinvasion.
The Japanese reactionaries have become evermore frantic in their moves to build an ideological groundwork for overseas aggression and create social atmosphere in favor of it through the visit to the shrine and other moves while persistently evading the redemption of Japan's past crimes, talking nonsense that it was Japan that underwent sufferings in the past. This is little short of precipitating its international isolation and digging its own grave.

Rodong Sinmun on Avowed Idea of DPRK's Foreign Policy

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea will as ever boost its relations of friendship and cooperation and good neighborliness with all countries of the world which respect its sovereignty and are friendly toward it and make positive efforts to make the world democratic and independent.
Rodong Sinmun Monday observes this in a signed article.
    It goes on:
The DPRK has opened its diplomatic ties with different countries of the world one after another in recent years. This eventful development represents a great diplomatic success made by the DPRK and a powerful demonstration of the validity of its independent foreign policy.
The achievements gained by the DPRK in its external relations constitute a positive contribution to the development of the situation on the Korean Peninsula and Asia-Pacific region and the rest of the world.
Independence, peace and friendship are the avowed idea of the foreign policy of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government. The DPRK, guided by this idea, has developed the friendly and cooperative relations with different countries of the world advocating independence and consistently maintained the stand of developing good neighborly and friendly relations with the capitalist countries which respect its sovereignty and are friendly toward it.
The independent, peace-loving and friendly foreign policy of the DPRK government and its activities are fully supported and welcomed by the world progressives advocating independence. It has become an irresistible trend of the times that the international interest in the DPRK is growing deep day by day and many countries wish to improve and develop their relations with the DPRK.
Even those countries which had kept aloof from the DPRK are now developing their relations with it on good terms.
All the great successes and progress made by the DPRK in the external relations are the shining fruition of the Songun politics, independent politics pursued by Kim Jong Il.
It is the firm will of the DPRK to strictly abide by the generally accepted norms and principles governing the international relations and make sustained energetic endeavors to establish a new and fair international order and build a new world, independent, peaceful and friendly, concludes the article.

Juche Idea, Idea of Believing in People as in Heaven

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The immortal Juche idea is the idea of believing in people as in heaven.
This idea which was the cherished view and motto of President Kim Il Sung means in short to believe in the people as they are heaven.
It represents the noble idea of regarding the people as the most powerful and precious being in the world, resolving everything in reliance upon them with belief in their strength and serving them.
To believe in the people remained an empty talk in the past days.
This was because there was no scientific revolutionary idea for the people and, therefore, it was actually quite impossible to carry that idea into practice.
This historical tragedy was overcome only by the Juche idea.
The Juche idea was the first in history to propound the noble truth that the master of revolution and construction is the popular masses and they have the strength to propel the revolution and construction, thus proving scientifically that the most precious and powerful being in the world is the popular masses.
The Juche idea also originally formulated the view and stand of regarding the popular masses as the master of revolution, making everything serve them and making revolution in reliance upon the inexhaustible strength of the popular masses.
This furnished the scientific guideline for respecting and strictly defending the independent rights and interests of the popular masses and always emerging victorious in the revolutionary struggle through the maximum mobilization of their strength.
Like this, the Juche idea is a revolutionary idea which indicates a scientific way of embodying to the fullest measure the noble spirit of believing in people as in heaven and realizing it successfully.

Sol Islet and Tal Gate of Sea Chilbo

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- There are many scenic spots registered as natural monuments in Mt. Chilbo located in the southern part of North Hamgyong Province on the east coast.
Among them there are Sol (Pine) Islet and Tal (Moon) Gate of Sea Chilbo presenting peculiar scenic beauty.
Sol Islet is off Pochon-ri, Myongchon County.
Originally, there was one islet but it was divided into two by a space of two or three meters when the rock cracked. The height of the Sol Islet above the sea level is 34 meters and its circumference is 0.4 kilometer.
There is a deep Ryong Cave stretching downward on the mid-slope of the hill. The cave was made by the ablation function of the sea water in the course of long years and its bottom opens to the sea water.
The cliff, curiously shaped rocks, thick pine woods and narrow sandy beach of the islet are well harmonized with the sea.
The islet came into being nearly fifty million years ago.
Tal Gate of Sea Chilbo located in Mokjin-ri, Hwadae County, was made by sea water erosion and surfaced with geotumour.
Tal Gate rising on the sea 500 to 1,000 meters deep is ten meters high above the sea level, eight meters long and five meters wide.
One end of it is rooted in a large rock hill and the other lies in water.

Abolition of NSL Demanded

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- Members of south Korean political parties and civic and public organizations including the Democratic Labor Party and the "Measure Committee of Families of Victims to the National Security Law in the Case of the Single-minded Association" reportedly called a press conference in Seoul on October 24 and demanded the abolition of the evil law.
The speakers at the press conference said one year had passed since the public security authorities cooked up the case of the "Single-minded Association" which they described as the "biggest spy ring case."
They termed the case a preposterous fraud of the pro-U.S. anti-reunification forces intended to pour filth on the Democratic Labor Party and brand it as "a spy ring" by invoking the NSL.
Noting that many people were still suffering from the evil law, they urged the public security authorities to immediately repeal the NSL and acquit those related to the case without delay.
The press release read out at the press conference strongly demanded that the authorities scrap the NSL, an obstacle to reunification and a legacy of the era of confrontation, at an early date according to the south-north agreement to readjust respective legal and institutional devices for the reunification-oriented development of the inter-Korean relations.

Grand National Party Denounced in S. Korea

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The "Korean National Council of Christian Churches", the "National Council of Christians for Justice and Peace" and other Christian organizations of south Korea reportedly held a forum in Seoul on October 18, at which they denounced presidential candidate from the Grand National Party of south Korea Ri Myong Bak.
Speakers at the forum warned that if the GNP pursuing inter-Korean confrontation and persisting in the Cold War order took power, democracy would back down in this land and things would go back to the past times.
They notably accused Ri Myong Bak of occasioning a good deal of controversy with such scandals as the BBK stock price manipulation, speculation in land at Togok-dong and improper language about massage women.
Noting that the repeal of the "National Security Law" and other steps had failed to be taken due to the maneuvers of the GNP and conservative forces, they stressed the forces for democratic reforms should realize them without fail.
