KCNA Blasts Some Congressmen for Standing in Way of Six-Party Talks
Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- Some lawmakers from the Republican Party of the United States recently introduced a bill to Congress urging the U.S. not to de-list the DPRK as a sponsor of terrorism.
Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, member of the House of Representatives, who sponsored the bill, put up in the bill such unreasonable conditionalities as putting an end to cooperation in the field of development of banned military equipment and cooperation in the nuclear field with Syria, insisting that the U.S. policy toward the DPRK should not be based on the hope that it would honor its commitments but based on its actual performance.
This is nothing but reckless remarks beclouding the prospect of the talks as they are intended to stem the trend of the times toward detente over the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula and put a brake on the process to advance the six-party talks and warm up the DPRK-U.S. relations.
The DPRK cannot overlook the brazen-faced remarks made by the U.S. chief executive against his dialogue partner on the international arena, timed to coincide with the introduction of the above-said bill by U.S. conservative hard-liners.
He, addressing the UN General Assembly on Sept. 25, went so reckless as to mention some countries including the DPRK and call them "brutal regimes".
The renewed accusation made by him against the DPRK was nothing but a foolish ploy to tarnish the DPRK's dignity and authority rising on the international arena as the days go by, which the servicepersons and people of the DPRK will never tolerate.
When judging this as the viewpoint of the U.S. chief executive, one can hardly guess the ever-changing U.S. view on the DPRK and talk about the bilateral confidence, the key to making progress at the six-party talks and the development of the bilateral relations.
Confidence building is vitally required by the countries participating in the six-party talks as the negotiated settlement of the nuclear issue is a very sensitive political issue related to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the Asia-Pacific region.
It is by no means fortuitous that the international community is expressing concern and uneasiness about the moves being taken by the U.S. conservative hard-liners at a time when the six-party talks are progressing and the DPRK-U.S. relations are developing at a certain level.
They invented various pretexts to lay hurdles in the way of the talks whenever there was some progress in them in the past.
A lot of time has been wasted since the start of the talks. This was entirely attributable to the wrong view of the U.S. on the DPRK.
The U.S. would be well advised to pay attention to and ponder over the factors of adversely affecting the progress at the talks and the settlement of the nuclear issue and be consistent in its policy toward the DPRK, though belatedly.

It is immense pride and pleasure for the Party and the army and people of the DPRK to have such "pedigree" institutions for training hard core cadres who would carry forward the traditions of the Korean revolution as the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School, the message said.
It expressed the belief that the teachers and students of the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School would bring about a fresh turn in the education of the bereaved children of revolutionaries true to the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il and thus live up to the deep trust and great expectation of the Party.
Kim Jong Gak in a report recalled that the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School have traversed a shining road of victory and glory under the wise guidance and warm care of the three generals of Mt. Paektu over the past 60 years.
He went on:
Kim Il Sung gave field guidance to the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School more than 110 times throughout his great life, setting it as a basic mission of the school to train reserve cadres of the People's Army and leading it with warm loving care.
Kim Jong Suk, woman general of Mt. Paektu, even postponing the visit to her native place, saw to it that all the bereaved children of the comrades-in-arms who fell in action were brought to the school and a statue of the President was erected at the school for the first time in Korea.
Kim Jong Il left immortal footprints at the two schools dozens of times since that historical day when he visited the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School to participate in its inaugural ceremony 60 years ago, energetically leading them to effect a fresh turn in education.
The Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School have been developed into reliable centers for carrying forward the revolutionary traditions replete with the spirit of devotedly defending the leader and the spirit of the red flag of Mt. Paektu and model schools for bereaved children of revolutionaries equipped with modern amenities for education and living, the reporter noted, adding that this is entirely thanks to the wise guidance and warm fatherly love shown by the three generals of Mt. Paektu.
The reporter called for bringing about a fresh turn in education of the schools true to the Songun leadership of the Party and thus making a positive contribution to achieving the reunification of the country and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.
Speeches were made at the meeting.

"Breeding Farm" for Rearing Pivots of Revolution
Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- Mangyongdae Revolutionary School greets its 60th birthday.
The school located in the sacred land of revolution is the centre of life and study for the bereaved children of revolutionaries, which was established on the direct initiative of President Kim Il Sung and under his guidance.
Under the warm care of the three Generals of Mt. Paektu, it has covered a proud road of training successors to the revolution who will stoutly carry forward the lineage of Juche.
President Kim Il Sung with noble revolutionary comradeship and obligation had always remembered the revolutionary comrades who laid down their lives in the sacred war for the liberation of the country and directed deep attention to their children.
While guiding the construction of the school, he instructed officials that they should bring up at the school the helpless bereaved children of the revolutionaries who roamed about at home and abroad.
Under the wise guidance of the President Mangyongdae Revolutionary School was founded on October 12, Juche 36 (1947) as the successor to the Children's Corps School by inheriting the tradition of educating the bereaved children during the anti-Japanese revolution.
Its institution marked the starting point of a new history of the Juche-based education of the bereaved children of the revolutionaries.
He gave on-the-spot guidance to the school on more than 110 occasions to indicate the road ahead of the school and directed a myriad of wealth of the country to the school for building it as a wonderful centre for the education of the bereaved children of the revolutionaries and looked after their living with the paternal care.
Kim Jong Il has also paid deep attention to the work of the school. He visited the school on the New Year's Days of 1997 and 1998 to indicate the direction and way for improving the educational work and led it at every step so as to discharge its mission and duty.
Kim Jong Suk, anti-Japanese war hero, always found herself among the students of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School, upholding lofty intention of the President after the liberation of the country and took deep care of their study and life with parental warm affection and benevolence.
Over the last six decades, Mangyongdae Revolutionary School has carried through the idea and policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on the education of the bereaved children of the revolutionaries and trained lots of hard cores of the revolution. Now its graduates are devoting themselves to the work for building a rich and strong country at different posts by inheriting the revolutionary spirit of their parents.

Struggle against Bourgeois Way of Life Called for
Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- The bourgeois way of life is like dreadful ideological poison as it makes people degenerate and corrupt, says Rodong Sinmun Friday in a signed article.
It goes on:
The American way of life represents the corrupt bourgeois way of life.
It is the imperialist mode of existence based on all sorts of inhuman and miscellaneous ideas and modes including extreme individualism, the principle of existence governed by the jungle law, extreme misanthropy and national chauvinism.
The bourgeois way of life reduces people to human beings no better than animals who only seek their own interests and behave as they please and mental cripples who know nothing but money.
The virus of the above-said way of life lies in that it lures people into dissipation by stimulating their vulgar taste and sentiments.
The virus of this way of life also lies in that it renders people deformed and benighted.
The bourgeois way of life is of greater dangerous nature as it makes sensitive young people degenerate and corrupt.
The imperialists and reactionaries consider the spread of the bourgeois way of life as a basic method of conducting operations for ideological and cultural poisoning. It has such awful virus as doing harm to the socialist way of life. This is because they eye aspects of everyday life of people which can easily be afflicted with the bourgeois way of life.
This way of life finds its way to aspects of everyday life of people bit by bit and develops with its roots taken, gnawing at the socialist life itself and making it corrupt and degenerate.
The historical experience goes to prove that grave consequences will be entailed by the failure to strictly guard against the infiltration of all unsound ways of life by the imperialists and wage a dynamic struggle against it.
Repeal of Unequal "Treaty" and U.S. Troop Pullout Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- Members of civic and social organizations of south Korea including the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration reportedly held the 168th Friday meeting in front of the U.S. embassy in Seoul on Oct. 5 demanding the repeal of the south Korea-U.S. "mutual defence treaty" and withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea.
The resolution read out at the meeting said the "treaty" was unequal as it granted privileges and extraterritoriality to the U.S. forces occupying south Korea.
There is no ground for the "treaty" to exist any longer, the pact which imposes misfortunes and pain upon the people, while meeting the interests of the United States only, it said, adding: It is impossible to realize the desire of the Koreans for independence, peace and reunification as long as foreign forces are present in south Korea.
The "treaty" must be immediately scrapped and the U.S. forces be withdrawn from this land, it urged.
