KCNA Urges Japan to Apologize and Compensate for Past Wrong-doings

Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- Japan, a war criminal state, has to frankly apologize and compensate for the past crimes. This is the legal and moral obligation it should fulfil before the international community.
Since its assumption of office the Abe group has gone all the more insolent in utter disregard of all this, completely ignorant of history.
A typical example of this is its attitude of flatly denying the issue of the "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army, the most hideous crime against humanity.
Recently some Dietmen and ultra-right elements of Japan thronged to the U.S embassy in Tokyo and complained that a resolution on the sexual servitude for the Imperial Japanese Army adopted at the U.S. Congress "twists historical facts on the basis of misinformation".
The chairman of the Policy Research Council of the Japan Liberal Democratic Party again denied Japan's crime-woven past, asserting that a 1993 statement of Chief Cabinet Secretary Kono concerning the "comfort women" issue was "self-tormenting."
The Abe group tries hard to shirk off the responsibility for such crimes at any cost while denying the coercive recruitment of 200,000 Korean and other Asian women into sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army. This is brazen-faced political hooliganism and an open challenge to the international community.
Recently Prime Minister Abe and other ultra-right elements offered a lantern to "Yasukuni Shrine" symbolic of militarism allegedly to console the soul of the war dead enshrined there. This was part of their moves to embellish the crimes committed by the militarists in the past century.
No wonder, the Washington Post strongly urged the present Japanese rulers to stop such impudence as denying facts, saying that the public is greatly angered by the recent moves of the Japanese right-wing revisionists of history.
A "beautiful country" much touted by the Abe group without repenting of and redeeming Japan's past crimes will only precipitate its international isolation and destruction.
It would be well advised to behave itself, clearly understanding where it stands.

Day of War Victory Observed

Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- An oratorical meeting of agricultural workers was held at the Jonsung Revolutionary Site on Tuesday on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.
Present there were Kim Jung Rin, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and agricultural workers.
At the meeting performers spoke of the dignity and pride of Songun Korea emerging victorious in the confrontation with the imperialists and the U.S. and evinced the faith and will of the Korean people to glorify the history of eternal victory on this land, holding President Kim Il Sung in high esteem under the leadership of Kim Jong Il.
They stressed that the Korean people greeted the bright dawn of a great prosperous powerful nation after successfully concluding the "Arduous March", the forced march as they are led by Kim Jong Il who has protected and glorified the dignity of the socialist country bequeathed to them by the President and the destiny of the nation before the whole world, holding aloft the banner of Songun.
Meanwhile, an art performance was given by youth and students in Pyongyang in front of the sculpture "Victory", the main theme of the Monument to Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, on the same day in celebration of the 54th anniversary of the victory in the war.

All-Out Mass Struggle for Withdrawal of U.S. Forces Declared in S. Korea

Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- Reunification movement organizations of south Korea including the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration reportedly held a ceremony of declaration of the "movement for all-out mass struggle for withdrawal of the U.S. forces" in Seoul on July 20.
Speakers at the ceremony referred to the realization of the "strategic flexibility" of the U.S. forces in south Korea and the "transfer of the right to command wartime operations" and so on. Lurking behind those moves is the U.S. intention to keep its forces in south Korea even after the establishment of peace mechanism on the Korean Peninsula, they said.
Then a resolution was read out, which said that the main slogan of the anti-U.S. struggle at present is the withdrawal of the U.S. forces. It went on to say: If all the people fail to turn out in the struggle, it will allow the U.S. new crafty strategy of domination to come true and the disgraceful history of the U.S. forces' presence to last till posterity. Noting that the imperialists' nature of aggression will not change until they perish, it called upon the people to wage all-out mass struggle for the withdrawal of the U.S. forces to put an end to the history of colony and open up a new era of independence, democracy and reunification.
It declared that the organizations will conduct extensive information activities through distribution of copies of literature, Internet and signature campaign and so on.

U.S. Development of New Type Nuclear Warheads Blasted

Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- The development and production of smaller nuclear warheads are in full gear in the United States. The U.S. State Los Alamos Nuclear Institute has started the full-scale production of new type nuclear warheads recently in the wake of a ceremony of kicking off the production of plutonium detonating devices shortly after it began the development of those warheads.
Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:
The U.S. moves to develop new type nuclear warheads mean, in essence, actively pushing forward the nuclear war strategy aimed at realizing its wild ambition for dominating the world through preemptive nuclear attack.
The above-said U.S. moves are criminal acts to bring horrible nuclear disasters to humankind and acts against peace as they go against the trend of the present times toward peace.
Entering the new century the United States readjusted its nuclear policy to achieve its aggressive objective by making limited strikes by use of smaller nuclear weapons with tremendous explosive and destructive power.
By having smaller modern nukes in place the U.S. seeks to use them as conventional weapons in any wars.
This being a hard reality, the U.S. is crying out for the DPRK's "dismantlement of nuclear substance," while keeping mum about the danger of its criminal nuclear program. This is an expression of the habitual way and chronic evil habit of the U.S. to find fault with others in a bid to realize its dirty wild ambition.
What the U.S. is now doing is nothing but an application of serious double standards to the field of nuclear activity and the height of its arrogance.
The United States would be well advised to give up such shameless intention.

Rodong Sinmun Raps at Japan's Fabrication of "Treaty" in 1907

Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Wednesday comes out with a commentary upon the lapse of a whole century since the Japanese imperialists forged and proclaimed a gangster-like document dubbed "Jongmi Seven-Point Treaty."
Noting that it was a document for robbing Korea of its right to administer its internal affairs, stipulating that all the domestic issues of the feudal government of the Ri Dynasty ranging from the enactment of laws and important administrative disposals to the appointment and dismissal of high-ranking officials could be treated only with the "approval" of the "Resident-General" of Japan, the analyst goes on:
The Japanese imperialists occupied Korea and established a brutal colonial fascist rule by cooking up every description of aggressive and robber-like "treaties" such as the afore-said "treaty". These were monstrous aggressive crimes and brigandish arbitrary practices untold in any part of human history.
The criminals who brought unspeakable misfortunes and pains to the Korean nation through unheard-of hideous aggression and colonial rule should have made proper apology and compensation.
The Japanese reactionaries lost to shame, far from admitting, apologizing and compensating their shocking past crimes, are distorting and denying the historical facts and justifying the crimes they committed against the Korean nation in the past, while challenging the DPRK over what they call "abduction issue."
Actually, they are getting more undisguised in their hostile policy towards the DPRK while stepping up their moves to stage a comeback to the whole of Korea. The Abe group these days is kicking up a gruesome repressive row to destroy the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, a dignified overseas Koreans' organization of the DPRK, and seize its stronghold and it openly marked the Tok Islet as a part of Japan's territory in the "Defense White Paper" for 2007. This goes to prove that the Japanese militarist forces' confrontation with the DPRK and moves to stage a comeback to Korea have reached really a reckless phase.
The reality shows that the history of criminal aggression by robbers of the island country has by no means come to an end, though a whole century has passed since the Japanese imperialists forged the "Jongmi Seven-Point Treaty."
The Japanese reactionaries would be well advised to behave with discretion, facing up to the trend of the times, and make honest apology and compensation for their crimes committed against the Korean nation in the past.

All Koreans Called upon to Advance June 15 Era of Reunification

Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) --The June 15 era of reunification is the patriotic era in which the Koreans are working hard to achieve the reunification by their concerted efforts after putting an end to the state of confrontation that has lasted for more than half a century. It is a hopeful era promising eternal prosperity of the nation.
Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
    It goes on:
All Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should glorify the June 15 era of reunification by putting spurs to the movement for independent reunification in sky-high spirit.
The June 15 era of reunification is an era guided by patriotism as it is advancing thanks to the unanimous desire and will of all Koreans for national reunification.
Nothing is more important and urgent for the Korean nation than to achieve the historic cause of national reunification.
The June 15 era of reunification, which ushered in a rosy future of national reunification, is making a long drive following up the victory as it reflects the urgent need and patriotic desire of the Korean nation to achieve independent reunification.
And the June 15 era of reunification is the era of independent reunification as it calls on the nation to settle the issue of national reunification by its own efforts in a responsible manner.
The strenuous struggle waged by the Koreans to carve out their own destiny resulted in the adoption of the historic June 15 joint declaration in which the north and the south promised each other to solve the issue of national reunification independently by their concerted efforts in the spirit of "By our nation itself."
The advent of the era of independent reunification after the adoption of the June 15 joint declaration brought about a change in the movement for national reunification. Now no outside forces have any pretext or conditions to interfere in the matter of Korea's reunification and the Koreans are now accelerating the process of reconciliation and reunification, their hearts replete with the strong independent will to achieve national reunification by their own efforts, come what may.
The June 15 era of reunification is the era of national unity which calls for increasing the might of great national unity in every way, the article notes, stressing that the successful attainment of national reunification depends on how the Korean nation strives to accomplish it, being responsible for it.

Natural Medicines Produced in DPRK

Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- The world medical circles call for producing natural medicines today when various synthetic medicines are rampant.
The Unphasan Pharmaceutical Institute of the DPRK has developed and perfected natural medicines efficacious for the diseases such as arteriosclerosis, hyperlipemia, diabetes, obesity, hyperuricemia, hepatitis and pancreatitis which should be treated for a long time. Now the medicines are being applied to clinical treatment.
Director of the institute Sonu Su Yong told KCNA that the research team has developed medicines with natural substances as their main raw material and they are made an effective use in the treatment of diseases.
    He went on to say:
To prevent the break of immune systems by anticancer agent, antituberclosis agent and other medicines, the team has made immune activator-Immunoton injection from fish skin. The injection is efficacious for the treatment and prevention of diseases including the acute and chronic hepatitis and pancreatitis.
Discle is potent for hyperlipemia. It, which has no side effect and prevents the disease from returning, is more effective than Symbastatin.
High-Ins is made of various natural substances. It improves insulin selectivity. It is good for the treatment of diabetes.
Health food Defatty is potent for simplex obesity which has not high lipid in blood. Among the newly developed medicines are health food Lipohepa for liver, health food Kumsanjong for hyperuricemia, health food Chitosan for hyperlipemia and osteoarthrosis and combined enzyme health food Dipansin for the digestive diseases. They are all patented medicines made by the institute with natural medical stuffs.

Pyongyang Cultured Language, Pride of Korea

Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- The Korean people are proud of having the Pyongyang cultured language and are embodying in their linguistic life thoroughly.
The Pyongyang cultured language is the standard one of the nation, which is fully reflecting the national characteristics and constantly developing in accordance with the requirements of the times.
The Koreans are a nation of one and the same blood who have lived in a territory with same culture down through history. They have developed the Korean language into the Pyongyang cultured language, centering around Pyongyang, the hub of the politics, economy and culture, since the liberation of the country from the Japanese colonial rule.
The Korean language, with abundant vocabularies, can correctly distinguish the differences between various objects and their meanings and clearly express people's feelings and emotion, color, taste and etiquette.
Its pronunciations are fluent, intonations soft and sounds beautiful.
The Pyongyang cultured language comprehends the superior linguistic factors of the national language.
In particular, all the words of foreign origin which are difficult to understand have been removed and a vocabulary system has been established on the basis of home-grown words. As a result, the Pyongyang cultured language protects the purity of the Korean language on a high level.
Chinese and Japanese words had been brought into the Korean language in the past owing to the flunkeyism of feudal rulers and the Japanese imperialists' moves to obliterate the Korean language. Foreign words including them have been arranged into Korean ones.

Chief of Pyongyang Mission of AINDF Interviewed

Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- After occupying south Korea in the guise of a "liberator" the U.S. provoked a war on June 25, 1950 in a bid to dominate the whole of Korea. It mobilized all its military potential to completely eradicate the DPRK from the surface of the earth and applied all sorts of brutal methods beyond human imagination during the war.
Jo Il Min, chief of the Pyongyang Mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front, Wednesday said this when interviewed by KCNA on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.
But the U.S. imperialists seriously miscalculated, he said, and continued:
The ceremony of signing the Armistice Agreement held on July 27, 1953 was a historic event which put an end to the myth of the "U.S. being invincible" that lasted for more than a century. And the DPRK was the first state to defeat the U.S. imperialists in history.
This shining victory was possible only thanks to President Kim Il Sung, legendary hero possessed of gut and pluck, farsighted wisdom and rare strategy as an invincible and iron-willed commander.
The vanguard fighters and patriotic people in the south will struggle more dynamically to bring earlier the independent and peaceful reunification of the country under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il, who has fully carried forward the cause of the President.

The statement recalled that the samurais committed many bestial atrocities against the Korean people in Korea in the first half of the last century and they have persisted in the crackdown on Koreans in the territory of Japan even since their defeat.
It demanded the Japanese authorities stop at once the evermore brutal suppression of Koreans in Japan.
