Withdrawal of U.S. Forces from S. Korea Demanded

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- Organizations of different countries released statements demanding the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from south Korea.
The Swiss Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea in its statement on July 3 on the occasion of the month of international solidarity with the Korean people said that a movement to support the struggle of the Korean people for achieving national reunification and demanding the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from south Korea took place worldwide every year on the occasion of the month of international solidarity with the Korean people.
The U.S. imperialists' presence in south Korea is a main factor of the danger of war on the Korean Peninsula, the statement noted, and continued:
The Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il warns that if the U.S. provokes the second Korean war, it will meet only a miserable end.
The Korean people will surely reunify their country in the idea of "By our nation itself", the core of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.
The statement demanded the U.S. pull its forces out of south Korea and immediately stop its moves against the DPRK and the Korean people.
The All-India Indo-Korean Friendship Association and the Indian Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification in a joint statement released on July 4 on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of publication of the July 4 joint statement demanded the pullback of the U.S. troops, the main obstacle in the way of reunifying Korea, from south Korea.

New Documentary Film Produced

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- The Korean Documentary and Scientific Film Studio recently produced a documentary film "May Samsu Power Station Convey Its Story Long."
The film deals with the historical facts about how the Samsu Power Station has been built as a structure to be proud of in the Songun era.
It contains touching scenes showing Kim Jong Il visiting the construction site despite blizzards in a severe winter day to indicate the orientation and ways to undertake the project and showing profound loving care for the members of the shock brigade.
The film also shows the builders dynamically pushing forward the project displaying heroism despite severe cold under the difficult situation where they were hard pressed for everything, the scientists and technicians showcasing fervent enthusiasm in their efforts to complete the design of the dam of Korean style and solve the scientific and technological problems arising in the construction and officials of many units and working people from across the country rendering material and moral assistance to the builders out of their patriotic zeal.
The film truthfully represents the noble ideological and moral quality and creative ingenuity of the members of the WPK and other working people of the DPRK in the Songun era ready to carry out anything planned and intended by Kim Jong Il without fail.

Pullback of U.S. Forces from S. Korea Demanded

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- Jang Kyong Uk, chairman of the committee for the study of the issues of the U.S. forces of the Bar Association for a Democratic Society, demanded the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea at a seminar held in Seoul on July 4, according to a news report.
He said that a peace mechanism will be established on the Korean Peninsula when the U.S. forces in south Korea are withdrawn, the armistice agreement is replaced by a peace agreement and military confidence built between the north and the south of Korea.
The withdrawal of the U.S. forces is the core of the agenda of the political negotiations for establishing a peace mechanism on the Korean Peninsula and a task which should be implemented without fail in view of history and reality and from a legal point of view, he stressed.
The move to revamp the south Korea-U.S. "alliance" is a hurdle in the way of establishing a peace mechanism on the peninsula as it is an artifice to sidestep the issue of the withdrawal of the U.S. forces, he added, demanding a stop to the move.

Candlelight Meeting Held in S. Korea

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- The All-People Movement Headquarters for Checking the south Korea-U.S. "Free Trade Agreement" reportedly held a candlelight meeting in Seoul on July 5 demanding the immediate release of its co-representatives.
Speakers at the meeting said that the security authorities' illegal arrest of co-representatives of the headquarters meant suppression of all progressive movement organizations in the struggle against the FTA conclusion.
Referring to the actions of organizations of people from all walks of life against the conclusion of the FTA now under way throughout south Korea, they vowed to intensify those actions.
They declared they would continue staging candlelight meetings till the co-representatives are released.

U.S. Imperialists Accused of Abusing Name of UN to Carry out Korean War

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists abused the name of the UN for perpetrating the last Korean war. This was a political fraud unprecedented in history, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a signed article.
    It goes on:
The U.S. imperialists massively hurled their forces and troops of their satellite countries into the Korean war. To justify this they carefully worked out a scenario beforehand to bring the Korean issue to the UN.
Their Korean war of aggression did not go well from its outset according to their wishes.
As the situation turned out to be unfavorable to them, they intended to straighten out it in the name of the UN. The U.S. forced the UN to call a meeting of the UNSC at 3 p.m. on June 27, 1950 at which an illegal resolution on providing "aid" to south Korea was adopted and an aggressive resolution on allowing U.S.-led armed intervention of its satellite nations against the DPRK was also adopted.
In order to hurl more troops of their satellite nations into the war and escalate the armed invasion the U.S. imperialists instigated the UNSC to create U.S. forces-led "UN Forces" on July 7, 1950 and adopt a resolution on mobilizing them to the war.
By nature, the "UN resolution" approving military intervention in the DPRK was illegal as it was adopted without the participation of the former Soviet Union, a permanent member of the UNSC.
On July 8 Truman unilaterally appointed MacArthur, commander of the U.S. Forces in the Far East, as concurrent commander of the "UN Forces." On July 25 the U.S. imperialists set up the "UN Command" and allowed the U.S. forces and troops of their 15 satellite countries to go under helmets of "UN Forces" during the Korean war.
They perpetrated indiscriminate destructions and mass killings, wantonly violating the UN Charter and international law and bringing unspeakable disasters and misfortune to the Korean people.
The U.S. imperialists will always stand condemned by history for committing such unprecedented hideous crimes as perpetrating the Korean war with the mobilization of their huge forces and troops of their satellite nations under the name of the UN and thereby wrecking peace on the Korean Peninsula and bringing the war holocaust to the Korean nation.

U.S. Chiefly to Blame for Danger of New Cold War and Nuclear War

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- The U.S. can never conceal its true colors as a chief criminal keen to spark off a new Cold War and a nuclear war, says Rodong Sinmun in a signed commentary Tuesday.
Recently the U.S. has become all the more frantic in its moves to mass-produce new type nuclear weapons while pushing forward the establishment of the Missile Defense System (MD) in the Korean Peninsula and the Pacific region under the pretext of "threat" from someone, the commentary notes, and goes on:
The U.S. stepped-up moves to establish the MD and modernize military hardware including nuclear weapons only compel other countries to take corresponding steps. This will naturally result in escalating the arms race and increasing the danger of a nuclear war.
The Korean Peninsula is fraught with the greatest danger of a nuclear war in the world today. It is the strategic design of the U.S. bellicose forces to realize their ambition for world supremacy by igniting a nuclear war against the DPRK and escalating it into other countries. The situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula at present due to the U.S. is so tense that a nuclear war may break out any moment.
There exists on the earth only the threat of the U.S. military aggression, not "threat" from someone else.
The U.S. would be well advised to think over that it will have to pay a dear price for its reckless moves.

The book was written by Ho Im, medical scholar famous at home and abroad, in 1644 on the basis of his experience gained in a long medical service.

Rodong Sinmun on Victorious Songun Politics

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- The Songun politics of the Workers' Party of Korea is powerful one as it surely guarantees the victorious advance of the revolution despite any storm and stress in history and invincible one as it ensures steady victory not only in the confrontation with imperialism but in socialist construction.
Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this in a signed article.
The WPK's Songun politics has displayed its might as victorious one representing the revolutionary faith, will and grit as it is based on the great guiding idea, invincible single-minded unity and matchless military power, the article notes, and goes on:
The Juche idea, Songun idea of the WPK is the great revolutionary idea most correctly reflecting the requirements of the times and the wishes of the popular masses and indicating the way of meeting them. The single-minded unity of the DPRK is invincible unity based on one centre, monolithic idea and revolutionary comradeship and sense of obligation. The Korean People's Army has demonstrated its dignity as an ever-victorious revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu fully prepared politically and ideologically and in military technique, an army that no revolutionary army of other countries can ever match, and firmly guaranteed the cause of socialism in the DPRK and its cause of building a rich and powerful country with arms. Thanks to the great guiding idea, invincible revolutionary forces and its politico-military might the DPRK has emerged victorious in the acute confrontation with the U.S., defended socialism and brought a turning phase to the building of a great prosperous powerful nation despite all sorts of difficulties and hardships in the way of the revolution.
The greater a country becomes in its politics, the more prosperous it gets and the better its people's mind-set will be.
Politics based on faith and grit keeps the country and nation alive in the world where highhanded and arbitrary practices of the U.S. imperialists and other imperialist reactionaries are rampant. It is the firm faith and will of the army and people of the DPRK to remain true to the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il to the end of the world despite rain and snow.

Repeal of NSL Demanded in S. Korea

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions reportedly issued a statement on July 5 in demand of the repeal of the "National Security Law"(NSL).
The statement recalled that the Committee for Settlement of Past History to Prove Truth and Achieve Reconciliation on July 3 made a decision to recommend the "government" to apologize and reexamine a "spy case" faked up by the military fascist dictatorial regime.
The "government's" sincere apology and compensation can be made only when it totally repeals the NSL, the statement said.
The fascist dictatorial regime used the NSL for fabricating all "cases" whenever its power was in a crisis, the statement said, denouncing the anti-reunification forces for having resorted to the whole gamut of machinations to maintain this evil law after the publication of the June 15 joint declaration.
The statement stressed that the recent "case of the Single-Minded Association", the case of arresting mediaman Ri Si U, etc. teach a lesson that the NSL, the evil law of the times, must certainly be repealed and this is the way of achieving genuine democracy on this land.

Japan Urged to Repatriate All Abductees of DPRK

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- Japan is making much fuss in a bid to paint itself as a "victim of abduction" and the DPRK as an abductor.
Minju Joson today says this in a signed commentary.
    It goes on:
In doing so, the Japanese reactionaries seek to tarnish the image of the DPRK in the international arena and secure a pretext for justifying their hostile policy toward it.
The reality goes to prove that by origin Japan is the world's worst abductor.
In June, To Chu Ji, a citizen of the DPRK, who had been abducted by the Japanese reactionaries, returned to the socialist homeland.
In 2002, An Phil Hwa, another citizen of the DPRK, was lured and abducted by them to Japan.
These facts clearly prove two things. First, citizens of the DPRK were abducted by them in an organized manner. Second, it was not one or two citizens of the DPRK who were abducted by them to Japan.
By origin Japan is ill-famed for abduction. In the first half of the last century, Japan committed such hideous crimes as drafting at least 8.4 million young and middle-aged Koreans to battle sites and sites of slave labor and forcing more than 200,000 Korean women into sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army.
It is proven by history that every monstrous crime was not committed according to an individual intention but perpetrated as an organized state-sponsored crime.
Now that cases of Japan's abduction of citizens of the DPRK have been clearly disclosed recently, the Korean people will never pardon the Japanese reactionaries' hostile acts against the DPRK, the commentary notes, and goes on:
The Japanese reactionaries should repatriate to the DPRK all its citizens abducted by them. They should, at the same time, give the DPRK assurances that they would punish the criminals and take steps against the recurrence of similar crimes and roll back at once all reckless hostile policies toward the DPRK including abduction.

All Koreans Urged to Come out to Honor Kim Il Sung's Instruction on National Reunification

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- Every member of the Korean nation living in the June 15 era of reunification should turn out in the sacred patriotic struggle to accomplish the cause of independent reunification, bearing in mind the instruction given by President Kim Il Sung for reunification as the motto in his life and struggle and immortal guidelines for the patriotic movement for reunification.
Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
    It goes on:
The President had consistently adhered to the line of one Korea, the line of reunification despite whatever difficulties and adversity since the very day the nation was split by foreign forces.
The line of the country's reunification laid down and consistently maintained by the President is a line of national independence to achieve the complete sovereignty and independence of the country and the nation from A to Z and a true patriotic line for achieving the prosperity and development of a reunified country and the prosperity of the whole nation.
The three principles of national reunification, the 10-point programme of the great unity of the whole nation and the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo are the three charters for national reunification which he provided to the fellow countrymen by systematically and comprehensively dealing with the fundamental principles and ways to achieve the country's reunification on the basis of the great Juche idea and the precious experience gained in the course of the struggle to reunify the country. They clearly indicate the way for the Koreans to achieve the independent reunification.
The fundamental principles and ways for national reunification indicated by the President are the most correct great programme for national reunification common to the nation the validity and vitality of which have been clearly proven in reality.
The driving force for reunification and patriotism grew stronger and the movement for national reunification mounted nationwide against the backdrop of the growing desire of the nation for reunification even at a time when the foreign forces and pro-U.S., anti-reunification forces of south Korea became evermore undisguised in their moves to create "two Koreas" and pursue confrontation and war against reunification in the last century and the nation greeted the June 15 era of reunification and the whole land of Korea was swept by the hot wind for national cooperation and the dynamic trend of independent reunification with the advent of the new century. All this was possible thanks to the President who enabled the Koreans to enshrine the three charters for national reunification as the mainstay for achieving national reunification.
Whoever loves the country and is willing to contribute to the cause of reunification should remain true to the noble idea and will of the President for independent reunification and wholeheartedly uphold the instruction given by him for reunification irrespective of ideology and ideal.

30th Anniversary of Kumgang Insurance Company Marked

Tokyo, July 8 (KNS-KCNA) -- A meeting was held here on July 6 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Kumgang Insurance Company of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).
So Man Sul, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, made a congratulatory address. He said: President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, learning that the insurance of the Koreans in Japan was restricted due to the discrimination against them by the Japanese authorities, saw to it that the Kumgang Insurance Company was founded to reliably insure their lives and properties.
He called on the employees of the company to turn out in the "movement to invite Koreans to come to the fold of Chongryon" to help them contract with the insurance company.
Kim Jung Hwan, director of the company, said in his report that now the company is considered as a dignified insurance agency even in Japan, urging the need to further develop the work of the company on to a higher stage.
A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted there.

Mass Meeting Held to Denounce Japanese Reactionaries' Suppression of Chongryon

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- A Pyongyang mass meeting was held at the Central Workers' Hall on Tuesday to condemn the Japanese reactionaries for suppressing the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).
Pak Kwan O, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, said in his speech that the Japanese reactionaries revealed their brutal nature through their shameless move to usurp facilities of Chongryon, not content with having harshly suppressed Chongryon, regarding it as a thorn in its flesh.
    He went on to say:
The Japanese reactionaries' hostile acts against Chongryon and Koreans in Japan now rampant throughout this island country remind one of the days when the Japanese imperialists harshly oppressed and massacred Koreans in Korea and other countries before the liberation of Korea.
The action taken by the Abe group to force upon Chongryon the sale of the hall of its headquarters is the revelation of its sinister intention to stamp out the movement of Koreans in Japan, in particular. It is an unpardonable provocation to the DPRK and Chongryon, a dignified organization of overseas citizens of the DPRK, and a wanton infringement upon its sovereignty.
The heinous action taken by the Abe group to suppress Chongryon only reinforces the belief of the Korean people that the Japanese reactionaries are their sworn enemy and their will to force Japan to pay for all the crimes it has committed up to this date since the past.
On behalf of all Pyongyangites, Pak denounced the Japanese reactionaries' nasty attack, suppression and brigandish action against Chongryon and Koreans in Japan with bitter national indignation.
Representatives of the working class, agricultural workers and youth and students in their speeches accused the Japanese reactionaries of persisting in their brutal acts in the new century, too. They branded Japan as a land with the poorest human rights record and a shameless rough state without any law-abiding, democracy and humanism.
They urged the Japanese reactionaries to fulfill their state responsibility and obligation to guarantee the just activities of Chongryon and the stable living of the Koreans in Japan according to the spirit and basic principle of the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration, well aware of the catastrophic consequences to be entailed by their reckless suppression of Chongryon.

KCNA Blasts Japan's Suppression of Chongryon

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- The Korean Central News Agency released a detailed report titled "The Abe group will have to pay a dear price for its reckless suppression of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) on July 10 as regards Japan's moves to obliterate Chongryon, a dignified organization of overseas citizens of the DPRK.
    Its gist says:
The KCNA brands the Japanese authorities' outrageous actions against Chongryon and Koreans in Japan as an extremely grave provocation little short of a declaration of a war against the DPRK.
The application made by the Resolution and Collection Corporation of Japan for a forced sale of the hall of the Headquarters of Chongryon was a product of premeditated and systematic plots of the Abe authorities to stamp out Chongryon and tide over their ruling crisis.
The above-said corporation bought bad bonds to the tune of 4004.1 billion yen by spending 353.3 billion yen from 1999 to 2005. This means that Japanese businesses and enterprises redeemed those bonds at such a low rate as 8.8 percent.
The corporation, however, pressurized Chongryon to redeem 100 percent the debts of the hall of the Headquarters of Chongryon to it and add an annual interest of 5 percent to the payment.
Abe at a press conference called on June 12 blustered that "it was becoming evident that Chongryon was involved in abduction and other crimes" and "it became a target of investigation under the law on the prevention of subversive activities".
These reckless remarks revealed the intention of the prime minister to build up public opinion for inciting enmity and national chauvinism towards Chongryon and the Koreans in Japan and spearhead the brutal political terrorism intended to stamp out Chongryon.
The Abe group has become evermore undisguised in its moves to usurp not only the hall of the Headquarters of Chongryon but its Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters, Osaka Prefectural Headquarters, Aichi Korean Middle and High School and other local headquarters of Chongryon and Korean schools.
The director of the Japan National Police Agency hurled policemen into such a wholesale repressive campaign as persecuting and arresting officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan and other actions though they are under the obligation to protect their rights and activities, raving that "the police is tasked to implement the step for pressurizing north Korea" and "it is the job of the National Police Agency to force north Korea to come out for negotiations with Japan".
Chongryon organizations and their officials and its related facilities have become the primary targets of this campaign.
The Japanese reactionaries' reckless terrorism intended to paralyze the function of Chongryon have reached a graver phase since the outset of this year.
They have worked hard to stifle Chongryon economically by lifting the measure to exempt the hall of the Headquarters of Chongryon and its facilities from taxes and, at the same time, openly infringed upon the business and vital rights of Koreans in commerce and other Koreans in Japan.
They have obstructed the performing activities of the Kumgangsan Opera Troupe of Chongryon in every way, taking issue with and slandering those activities and disallowing the use of the hall. They are suppressing the democratic national education of Koreans in Japan and their freedom to travel to their homeland.
"Yomiuri Shimbun" and its weekly magazine "Aera" and other reptile media of Japan are busy with the false propaganda aimed at hurling mud at officials of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan on the basis of false "testimonies".
As proven by the cases of women An Phil Hwa and To Chu Ji, the truth of which has been disclosed in recent years, Japan has persisted in its abduction of Koreans while loudly trumpeting about the "abduction issue", a leftover of the Cold War era.
It is preposterous for Japan to use the "abduction issue" as a pretext for suppressing Chongryon though it has remained the world's worst abductor since the days of its colonial rule over Korea.
The DPRK-Japan relations have reached the most dangerous explosive point since the end of the Second World War due to the reckless anti-DPRK, anti-Chongryon moves of the Abe group.
It is the jungle logic for Japan to cry out for "sanctions" against the DPRK, doing harm to the Koreans in Japan, the victims of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule, and their descendents, though it has not yet redressed its crime-woven past.
This behavior of Japan is further straining the relations among states in the Asia-Pacific and posing great threat to peace and stability in the region.
It is nothing but the death-bed frenzy of those in despair for the Abe group to go mad with the moves against the DPRK and Chongryon, bereft of reason.
The DPRK will force the Abe group to pay a dear price for their moves to suppress and stamp out Chongryon.
