Equatorial Guinean President Supports DPRK's Just Cause

Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The government and people of Equatorial Guinea fully support the just cause of the DPRK government and people to achieve the peaceful national reunification by the concerted efforts of the Koreans free from outside forces' interference.
Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, president of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, said this when receiving credentials from the DPRK ambassador to Equatorial Guinea on May 24.
He said that Equatorial Guinea rejoiced over the great successes made by the government and people of the DPRK in their work to increase its military and economic potentials, rallied close around their leader.
He expressed sincere hope that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would grow stronger in the future, too.

Repeal of "NSL" Urged in S. Korea

Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification reportedly released a statement titled "Stop the security forces' suppression and repeal the National Security Law (NSL), an anti-reunification law" on May 25.
Accusing the security authorities of arresting Ri Si U, a photographer and writer, on false charge that open media activities were a violation of the NSL, the statement noted: The security authorities recently cooked up the "case of an organization behind the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils" and the "case of the Single-Minded Association" and many other cases to indiscriminately suppress guiltless patriotic figures by invoking the NSL.
There can be no future of the June 15 era, the era of national reunification, unless the legal and institutional mechanisms blocking the national unity and reconciliation in south Korea are dismantled, the statement said, demanding the NSL be immediately abolished, as it regards fellow countrymen as an "enemy" and cracks down upon the patriotic figures struggling for reunification.

Rash Act of Pro-U.S. Conservatives Assailed in S. Korea

Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The monument to the candlelight for independence and peace, built to the memory of Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, south Korean schoolgirls brutally killed by a U.S. armored car, was discovered dumped in a hill of Jongro District, Seoul on May 24, according to the south Korean Internet broadcasting "Voice of People".
The monument was erected in Seoul on June 13, 2003, one year after the death of the schoolgirls. But, it was damaged by the pro-American flunkeyist conservatives, which regarded it as a thorn in their flesh, in less than a month after its erection and forcibly removed by the authorities of the Jongro District Office on January 2 of the next year.
As regards the discovery of the monument, those concerned of the All-People Measure Committee for Probe into the Truth about the Case of Slain Schoolgirls called a press conference that day. At the conference they lodged a protest with the district office authorities against it and urged them to rebuild the monument on the occasion of the 5th death anniversary of the schoolgirls.

Reckless Remarks of GNP Heavyweight Blasted

Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- Ri Myong Bak from the Grand National Party of south Korea was reported to have hurled a spate of vituperation at the DPRK recently, finding fault with its war deterrent for self-defence and citing even the "Panmunjom Incident".
What should not be overlooked is the fact that during his tour of the area along the Military Demarcation Line Ri repeated sophism that he would make an "overall revision" of the present "policy towards the north, if he comes to power" made during his visit to his American master last year.
Minju Joson today in a signed commentary carried in this regard terms his reckless remarks treacherous and anti-reunification ones as they are aimed at scrapping the June 15 joint declaration, driving the inter-Korean relations to a collapse and pursuing confrontation with fellow countrymen.
Ri must be aware of the stark reality that the peace of the country and destiny of the nation have been guaranteed by the strong war deterrent for self-defence built by the DPRK with its Songun politics. Yet, he talked nonsense about "twisted appearance" and the like, betraying his shameless nature.
Moreover, Ri's outbursts that he would make an overall revision of the present "policy towards the north" and he would follow the policy calling for forcing "the north to dismantle its nukes before giving any aid to it" remind one of an ungrateful guy who stabs his benefactor in the back.
He does not have even an iota of national conscience, to say nothing of a view as a "politician" as he does not know anything about either the essence of the nuclear issue or the truth of the "Panmunjom Incident" sparked off by the U.S. imperialists, and is unable to distinguish the benefactor that has protected the nation from the enemy which has done harm to the compatriots only. It is his only preoccupation to realize his wild ambition to seize power backed by the U.S. and conservative circles at any cost.
It is as clear as noonday that if this political imposter is allowed to come to power, inter-Korean relations will collapse and the sky of the whole land will be thick with the dark clouds of a war.
Ri had better apologize for his pro-U.S. sycophantic and anti-reunification reckless remarks and retract them.

Minju Joson on U.S. Policy toward Japan

Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- A U.S.-Japan security consultative meeting was held in Washington between late April and early May with the attendance of defence and foreign ministers of the two countries.
At the meeting, U.S. Secretary of Defense Gates told Japanese Minister of Defence Kyuma that if the DPRK launches ballistic missiles towards the U.S., they should be intercepted with Japan's missile defence system. The U.S. ambassador to Japan, too, who was present there, strongly hinted to the Japanese side that the U.S.-Japan alliance may get worse if Japan doesn't intercept such missiles.
Commenting on this fact, Minju Joson says in a signed commentary today:
The U.S. seemed at the meeting to ask for Japan's help for fear of possible "missile attack" of the DPRK on it. But lurking behind it was a sinister intention of the U.S. to incite Japan to the exercise of the "right of collective self-defence".
It is a strategic calculation of the U.S. that it should make an effective use of Japan's military potentials and geographical advantage in order to attain the military supremacy over East Asia, contain the influence of big powers situated in this region and establish the exclusive domination over the Asia-Pacific region.
If the time comes when Japan fairly exercises its "right of collective self-defence" as demanded by the U.S., it would be very dangerous developments in view of peace and security in Asia and the rest of the world.
Japan's exercise of the "right of collective self-defence" precisely means its reinvasion. It is as clear as noonday that Japan, free in military action by dint of exercise of the "right", will not hesitate to unleash a war of aggression on Asia for its strategic interests and vested rights as it did in the past.
It is not hard to guess that the U.S. will be no exception of the targets of Japan's attack, if the temperament of the latter, who would act like a puppy knowing no fear of a tiger when it feels stronger, is taken into consideration.
The irresponsible behavior of the U.S. inciting Japan to the militaristic overseas expansion is as good as a crime of wrecking global peace and security.
The U.S. should ponder over the grave consequences to be entailed by Japan's moves for militarization and overseas expansion and drop its wrong policy towards Japan at an earliest possible date.

Japan's Distortion of History under Fire

Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Tuesday flails foolish remarks of Tokyo Governor Ishihara denying Japan's crimes in forcibly recruiting "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army.
    The analyst says:
Ishihara plays a pivotal role among the ultra-rightist elements with a strong influence in Japan’s power and political sphere and he is steeped in militarism, revanchism and national chauvinism. With this taken into account, his distortion of history is of very grave and dangerous nature.
His denial of the crimes related to the "comfort women" is a militaristic folly aimed at achieving a sinister political purpose against history.
Those crimes are extra-large crimes against humanity committed by the Japanese imperialists in the past.
Ishihara with eyes and ears and cognitional ability must be aware of the crimes in reducing women to sex slaves for the Imperial Japanese Army. Yet he has the cheek to openly assert that "the Japanese army never recruited 'comfort women'". This is a total denial of the Japanese imperialists' crimes of sexual slavery without precedent in history and a shameless distortion of history. His jargon is a mockery of the victims to the forcible drafting of "comfort women" and a malicious challenge to the world public sentiments demanding the settlement of the hideous crimes by Japan.
History is like a mirror. It cannot be distorted or erased. The history of the crimes committed by Japan can never be covered up.
The Japanese right-wing conservative forces must stop distorting history, deeply bearing in mind that they will invite only international isolation and destruction, if they persist in such act.

Minju Joson denuncia a EE.UU.
