Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- Short biographies of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il were brought out in booklet by the Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism on the occasion of the February holiday.
February Holiday Celebrated
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- Seminars on the undying exploits of Kim Jong Il took place in Ukraine, Belarus, Democratic Congo and Peru and meetings in Norway, the Czech Republic and Uganda from Feb.11 to 16 on the occasion of the February holiday.
Oleg Novikov, chairman of the Belarus Youth Association for the Study of the Juche idea and Songun Politics Named after Feb. 16, at a seminar said that Kim Jong Il has clearly indicated the way to be followed by the world progressive people in their struggle against imperialism through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities.
Roberto Carbonel Pezo, chairman of the Peru-Korea Friendship Institute for the Study of the Juche-based Songun Policy, at a seminar praised the Songun politics as the most just and unique political mode for defending the sovereignty and dignity of the nation, adding that thanks to the Songun politics the Korean people have worked miracles in building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation, resolutely frustrating the U.S. imperialists' moves and firmly defending the sovereignty of the country.
The secretary general of the African Regional Committee of Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People in a speech at a meeting in Uganda praised Kim Jong Il as the sun of progressive humankind instilling faith into the revolutionary people of the world by firmly defending socialism in the DPRK.
Congratulatory messages to Kim Jong Il were adopted at seminar and meetings in Ukraine, Norway and the Czech Republic.
Bulletins Published in Egypt and Syria to Mark Feb. 16
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The Egypt-Korea Friendship Association released a special issue of its bulletin "The Cause of Independence and Kim Jong Il" on Feb. 16 to celebrate his birthday.
The bulletin said Feb. 16 is a historic day promising the Korean people and other world progressives a bright prospect of the cause of independence and its brilliant victory.
It noted in detail that Kim Jong Il has developed and enriched the Juche idea and provided a strong driving force to thoroughly apply the idea while leading the cause of independence along the road of victory with his unique Songun politics.
The Political Faculty of University of Damascus in Syria also issued a bulletin on Feb. 12 to praise his immortal exploits.
Internet Homepage "Finland-Juche" Opened
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The Finnish Group for the Study of Works of Comrade Kim Jong Il opened its Internet homepage "Finland-Juche" on Feb. 16 on the occasion of his birthday.
Posted in the homepage were a photo of smiling President Kim Il Sung and a photo of Kim Jong Il and letters reading "The great leader President Kim Il Sung will always be with us" and "Long live Comrade Kim Jong Il, the sun of the 21st century!"
The homepage introduced the Finnish group and said:
The Juche idea, founded by Kim Il Sung and developed and enriched by Kim Jong Il, gives perfect answers to such questions as of the position and role of man in the world.
As the great guiding idea in the era of independence, it shows the way to be followed by the oppressed people of the world.
The homepage included columns dealing with news from the DPRK and activities of the group.
Agreement on Share of Expenses for U.S. Forces Opposed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification in south Korea reportedly voiced opposition to the "National Assembly's" ratification of the special agreement on share of expenses for the upkeep of the U.S. forces in south Korea on Feb. 20.
The organization charged that the special agreement calling for the increase of 45.1 billion won over last year's upkeep fund goes against the will and demand of the people for the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea.
If the NA ratifies the agreement it will mean that it supports the use of the people's taxes for the transfer of the U.S. military base, it said.
It held that the NA should not approve the agreement but make an overall examination into the fund for the upkeep of the U.S. forces in south Korea itself.
It should also probe the truth behind the south Korean military authorities' assertion that they had promised the U.S. an offer of the shared defence fund for the transfer of its military base at the time of the negotiations on the transfer, the organization stated.
New Posters Created
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The Mansudae Art Studio and the Central Fine Arts Studio produced new posters encouraging the people throughout the country to display the spirit of Thaechon.
The posters reflect the persevering fighting spirit, the spirit of self-reliance, work style and optimistic way of life displayed by the builders of Thaechon Youth Power Station No. 4.
Posters "Let's make a general onward march in the spirit of Thaechon!" and "In the spirit of Thaechon!" created by the Mansudae Art Studio fully represent the firm faith and militant spirit of the servicepersons and the people in the DPRK to usher in a great heyday of Songun Korea in the same heroic fighting spirit and revolutionary mettle as displayed by the young builders of Thaechon Youth Power Station No. 4.
And the Central Fine Arts Studio produced posters "Let the optimism of the youth prevail throughout the country in the spirit of Thaechon!" and "Let's advance faster for higher goal!" reflecting the desire of all the servicepersons and people to make a leap forward the enthusiastic way the young builders of the power station did.
Suppression of Reunification-Oriented Education under Fire in S. Korea
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- Teachers organizations including the south Korean Teachers Union (Jongyojo) and the Retired Experienced Teachers Organization of south Korea reportedly held a press conference in Seoul on Feb. 23 at which they denounced the security authorities for suppressing reunification-oriented education.
Speakers at the conference accused the authorities of having arrested two teachers under Jongyojo by invoking the "National Security Law" (NSL), declaring it is deplorable to take issue with reunification-oriented education at a time when such education is presenting itself as an urgent matter. They went on:
As such information is available from the Internet, it is quite unreasonable to claim that Joson Ilbo's practice of citing it is not liable to punishment but teachers' use of it for reunification-oriented education is a violation of the NSL. It is not the teachers but Joson Ilbo and the security investigation team that deserve a legal punishment as they are hell-bent on spreading misinformation and lies.
A press release read out at the conference noted whoever is a teacher with conscience should teach students politics, economy, military science and culture of the north, demanding the release of the arrested teachers and the repeal of the NSL.
Highly-Efficient Machine-tools Produced in DPRK
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The Huichon Machine-tool Plant in the DPRK is manufacturing highly-efficient machine-tools.
The plant has completed a flexible machining system for producing boxes which is of great significance in the development of the machine-building industry so as to lay its solid material and technical foundation.
It has also introduced into production a new control system by which various kinds of lathe accessories are processed in an automatic way. It greatly helps make machine-tools precise and high-speed.
Among its products are a new kind of universal lathe, universal cylindrical grinder, movable radial drilling machine and NC milling machine.
The universal lathe has a processing diameter bigger than others and the universal cylindrical grinder, controlled by already-set program, improves the precision of products and productivity.
The movable radial drilling machine can process a large object, moving from place to place by itself.
In addition, the plant produces various sizes of ball screws which are applicable to machines which need flexibility and to floodgates of power stations.
The plant is making many efforts to introduce new advanced technologies into production.
Criminal Forced Labor Imposed on Koreans by Japan
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The criminal forced labor imposed upon the Korean people by the Japanese imperialists in the past had been unprecedented in history.
They had subjected the Korean people to the forced labor all along during their colonial rule over Korea. They further intensified it with the escalation of the war for invading the continent.
The escalation of the war needed colossal amount of manpower and material resources, exhausting labor force of Japan.
They found the labor resources for the munitions industry in the extensive conscription of Koreans and their harsh slave labor. They enacted all conceivable evil laws including "The Law on National Mobilization", "Ordinance on Labor Conscription" and "Revised Ordinance on Labor Conscription" to drive the Korean people out to the slavish labor.
They took Koreans away in broad daylight while resorting to deception, fraud and forcible conscription.
Lots of Korean draftees were forced on medieval slave labor everywhere in Korea and abroad where the Japanese imperialists set foot of aggression. They were forced to work for even 20 hours a day in the most dangerous and backbreaking working sites such as military projects, ore and coal mines, dam and railway projects without any labor protection facilities.
The Japanese imperialists employed all penal regulations, clubbing black and blue the Koreans who got on their nerves even a little.
Such criminal forced labor was committed in the agricultural sector, too. The Japanese imperialists took many young people of Korea to Japan to drive them hard in order to solve the food problem at home.
The forced labor to Koreans committed by the Japanese imperialists is a serious human rights violation, which they can justify or cover up with nothing.
The Japanese reactionaries should admit the forced labor imposed upon the Koreans as a state-manipulated crime and duly compensate for it.
Moves to Bolster "UN Command" Assailed
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The "UN Command" in south Korea is a military mechanism of the U.S. imperialists for aggression which is laying obstacles to the reunification of Korea and peace on the Korean Peninsula, being an illegal entity abusing the name of the United Nations, declares Rodong Sinmun in a signed article Tuesday.
It goes on:
The United States intends to maintain and bolster the "UN Command" today when it is compelled to dissolve the U.S.-south Korea "Combined Forces Command" with the transfer of "the right to command wartime operations" to south Korea. This is aimed at permanently occupying south Korea, invading the DPRK and seizing military supremacy over northeast Asia.
The "UN Command" is a dyed-in-the-wool U.S. command wearing the UN helmet in view of the course of its formation, financial burden and military system.
Those who held the posts of commander of the U.S. forces during the Korean war admitted that the "UN Command" in south Korea is nothing but a U.S. tool of aggression knocked into shape by abusing the name of the United Nations when it was provoking the Korean war.
In the past UN secretary generals and their spokespersons affirmed several times that the command is that of the U.S. forces having nothing to do with the United Nations. In March last year, too, the then UN secretary general made it clear once again through his spokesperson that the command is not a command of the UN forces but that of the U.S.-orchestrated forces.
The U.S. is going to expand and reorganize the "UN Command," the byproduct of armistice mechanism which should have been dissolved long ago. This is an act of ignoring the demand of the Korean people and the world public and the UN resolution for dissolving it and withdrawing the aggression forces from south Korea.
In order to justify the presence of the U.S. forces in south Korea and attain its aim of aggression in Korea, the U.S. has deceived the world public by labeling this aggressive military tool the "UN Command," the "U.S. Forces Command" in south Korea and the U.S.-south Korea "Combined Forces Command" as it thought necessary.
It is utterly intolerable that the U.S. intends to maintain, expand and bolster the "UN Command" under the pretext of filling the "gap" after the transfer of the "right to command wartime operations."
New Documentary Produced
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- A documentary "Full of Confidence in Victory" has recently been produced by the Korean Documentary Film Studio.
The documentary impressively shows the people all out in the worthwhile struggle to usher in a great heyday of Songun Korea full of confidence in victory and optimism in hearty response to the joint editorial of the newspapers of the Workers' Party of Korea, the People's Army and the youth league for this year, the year of great changes.

Triplets Born in DPRK
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- Triplets were born in township of Jongphyong County, South Hamgyong Province. Their mother is Jon Sun Ryon residing in the township and their father is Choe Myong Nam, people's security man.
She benefited from medical service including regular examinations under the socialist health service system during her pregnancy. She gave birth to the first son and a daughter, 2.6 kg each, and then to the second son weighing 2.55 kg at the Jongphyong County People's Hospital on Feb. 20.
The triplets are in a good condition at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital after being brought there recently.
S. Korean Public Security Authorities' Fascist Crackdown under Fire
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The south Korean public security authorities' fascist suppression of those who posted articles praising the great Songun politics and the Juche idea on Internet homepages is a crime against the nation as it is aimed at chilling the aspiration and desire of the south Korean people for new independent politics and new life and fanning up the confrontation between the north and the south. The Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland said this in its information bulletin No. 929 on Tuesday.
It continued:
They are brutally suppressing personages of different social standings and other people for supporting the Songun politics by invoking the "National Security Law" (NSL) and finding fault even with those who have demanded repeal of the law. This is intolerable as it is nothing but an anachronistic act of going against the mindset of the people and swimming against the trend of the times.
What is more intolerable is that such acts of getting on the nerves of the dialogue partner are being openly committed by the south Korean authorities as part of their anti-DPRK campaign, pursuant to the outside forces' policy, at a time when the once-frozen inter-Korean ministerial talks are set to be resumed and the process to improve the north-south relations is high on the agenda. This makes one skeptical about whether they are truly willing to have dialogue for harmony and reunification.
It is illogical for the south Korean authorities to talk about the reconciliation, cooperation and improved inter-Korean relations while suppressing those who support the Songun politics in the DPRK and call for reunification through alliance with the north.
They should immediately stop such disgraceful acts as seeking confrontation between fellow countrymen in contravention of the June 15 joint declaration and harmful to the efforts to warm up the north-south relations and the unwarranted suppression of the pro-reunification patriotic figures.

Wreaths Laid before Grave of Han Tok Su
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the grave of Han Tok Su, former chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), at the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery on Feb. 27 to commemorate the centenary of his birth. Seen there was a wreath from Kim Jong Il.
Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Kim Yong Dae, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and chairman of the C.C., the Korean Social Democratic Party, Ryu Mi Yong, chairperson of the C.C., the Chondoist Chongu Party, Pang Chol Gap, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, Hong In Hum, chairman of the Chongryon Central Audit Commission, and leading officials of national institutions and public and religious organizations, officials of Chongryon staying in the socialist homeland and members of the bereaved family.
Placed before the grave were wreaths in the name of the SPA Presidium and the Cabinet of the DPRK, the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, national institutions and public organizations and members of the bereaved family and bouquets.

Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- A south side's delegation with Minister of Unification Ri Jae Jong as its chief delegate arrived here today to attend the 20th north-south ministerial talks.
It was greeted at the airport by delegates of the north side to the talks and officials concerned.
Japan Denounced for Suppression of Korean Residents
Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The European Regional Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration (the June 15 European Regional Committee) made public a letter of protest to the Japanese government on Feb. 20 in connection with its recent undisguised suppression of Koreans in Japan.
The Korean residents in Japan are the victims of the Japanese imperialists' past aggression of Korea and their descendants, the letter said, adding that in Japan they were forced to undergo forced labor and slavery life and have been subject to national discrimination and all sorts of maltreatment.
Far from making apology and compensation to them having such grudge, the Japanese government launched sudden searches into organs and business groups related to the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), seized documents and arrested those concerned on unreasonable charges, the letter pointed out.
The Koreans in Japan deserve to be protected by the Japanese government and society, the letter stated, urging the Japanese government to immediately stop the suppression of Korean residents, release those arrested and compensate them for the mental and material damage inflicted upon them.
Conference of Korean Youth in Japan Held
Tokyo, February 25 (KNS-KCNA) -- A west Japan regional conference of the Korean Youth Commercial Association in Japan took place in Osaka on Feb. 17.
Present there were representatives and those concerned from different localities including Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo, Shiga, Hiroshima, Okayama, Aichi and Kifu.
The conference discussed and decided on future action programs including a protest action against the Japanese authorities' unwarranted search operations against organizations under the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan and Koreans in Japan.

"Comandancia de ONU" en el Sur de Corea es aparato de agresion a RPDC
Pyongyang, 27 de febrero (ATCC) -- La "Comandancia de las Fuerzas de la ONU" en el Sur de Corea, entidad ilegal que abusa del nombre de esta organizacion mundial, es un mecanismo militar agresivo de los imperialistas norteamericanos que ponen obstaculos en la reunificacion de Corea y el mantenimiento de la paz en la Peninsula Coreana.
Asi senala el periodico Rodong Sinmun en un articulo individual del dia 27 y continua:
Ahora es cuando Estados Unidos se ve obligado a disolver la Comandancia de las Fuerzas Conjuntas Surcoreano-Norteamericanas" debido al traspaso del "mando operacional para el tiempo de guerra" al Sur de Corea. Como alternativa de ello, pretende mantener y fortalecer la comandancia referida primero en su intento de perpetuar la ocupacion del Sur de Corea, agredir a la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea y tomar la heguemonia militar en la region del Nordeste Asiatico.
Tanto en vista de la historia de su organizacion y el financiamiento como a la luz del sistema militar la comandancia en cuestion es precisamente la de tropas norteamericanas con cascos de la "ONU".
Hasta los ex comandantes yanquis durante la pasada guerra coreana habian reconocido que la polemica entidad no pasa de ser un aparato de agresion fabricado por EE.UU. usando el manto de la ONU cuando desato esta contienda belica.
En el pasado, un ex secretario general de la ONU y sus voceros reafirmaron en varias veces que la "comandancia de las fuerzas de la ONU" en el Sur de Corea es los efectivos norteamericanos enajenados de la magna organizacion mundial. En marzo del ano pasado, el entonces secretario general de la ONU volvio a aclarar por conducto de su portavoz que esa "comandancia" no la integran los Cascos Azules sino las tropas al mando de EE.UU.
Esta comandancia, producto del sistema de armisticio, debia ser disuelta hace mucho tiempo. Al contrario, EE.UU. trata de ampliarla y reorganizarla despreciando la demanda del pueblo coreano y de la sociedad internacional de disolverla y retirar a las tropas agresoras norteamericanas del Sur de Corea y la resolucion de la ONU sobre el particular.
A fin de justificar la ocupacion militar del Sur de Corea y alcanzar su objetivo de agresion a la RPDC, EE.UU. pinto a este aparato de la "comandancia de las fuerzas de la ONU", la "comandancia de las fuerzas norteamericanas" ocupantes del Sur de Corea y la "comandancia de las fuerzas conjuntas surcoreano-norteamericanas" enganando la opinion publica de la sociedad internacional.
Es intolerable que EE.UU. trate de mantener y fortalecer la comandancia en cuestion bajo el pretexto del supuesto "vacio" que se crearia despues del traspaso del "mando operacional para el tiempo de guerra".
Trabajo forzado impuesto al pueblo coreano por Japon
Pyongyang, 27 de febrero (ATCC) -- No tienen precedentes en la historia los crimenes que cometieron los imperialistas japoneses al imponer el trabajo forzado al pueblo coreano.
Estos crimenes, que se registraron en todo el periodo del colonialismo japones sobre Corea, se tornaron mas brutales cuando la guerra de agresion al continente asiatico, desatada por el pais-isla, adquirio mayor envergadura.
La ampliacion de esta guerra produjo el malgaste desmesurado de los recursos humanos y materiales y el consiguiente agotamiento de la mano de obra en Japon.
Los imperialistas nipones encontraron en el reclutamiento forzado y la imposicion de trabajos de esclavitud a los coreanos la solucion de la carencia de la fuerza laboral para la industria belica.
Para este fin, inventaron varias legislaciones infames como la "ley de movilizacion general del Estado", "orden de reclutamiento de los habitantes para el trabajo" y "orden de reclutamiento de los habitantes reformados para el trabajo".
Innumerables coreanos reclutados mediante el engano, fraude y arresto forzado o raptados a plena luz del dia fueron sometidos al trabajo de esclavitud de la edad media en todos los lugares invadidos por los imperialistas japoneses como en distintas localidades de Corea y varios paises extranjeros.
Tuvieron que trabajar duro 20 horas al dia en los campos de construccion de instalaciones militares donde no habia ningun sistema de proteccion laboral o en las ramas mas dificiles y peligrosas como las minas y las de carbon, la edificacion de diques, la construccion de ferrocarril, etc.
Si ellos se mostraban poco inobedientes, los imperialistas japoneses los castigaban de diferentes maneras como bofetadas y bateadas.
Tales crimenes se reportaron tambien en el sector agricola.
Para resolver la escasez alimenticia de su pais, los imperialistas japoneses trasladaron a muchos jovenes coreanos al archipielago japones para explotarlos como si fueran mulos.
Estos casos de flagrante violacion de derechos humanos nunca pueden ser justificados ni encubiertos.
Los reaccionarios islenos deben asumir la responsabilidad estatal por el respecto y recompensarlo debidamente.

Se producen maquinas herramientas de buena calidad
Pyongyang, 27 de febrero (ATCC) -- Son de buena calidad los productos de la Fabrica de Maquinas Herramientas de Huichon de Corea.
La fabrica perfecciono un nuevo sistema de produccion, que reviste gran importancia en el desarrollo de la industria de maquinaria y consolido su base material y tecnica.
Tambien aplico el otro sistema de control que posibilita elaborar automaticamente los accesorios de tornos de varios tipos contribuyendo en gran medida a la precision y la rapidez del funcionamiento de sus productos.
Entre las maquinas herramientas que se producen aqui figuran un nuevo torno universal, la pulidora cilindrica universal, la taladradora radial movil, la fresadora de control numerico, etc.
El primero de gran diametro de elaboracion se usa en varias ramas de la economia nacional y la segunda garantiza la precision de articulos elaborados y la alta productividad.
La tercera elabora los objetos de diferentes tamanos y formas moviendose por si sola.
Los tornillos de bolas de diferentes tamanos se usan ampliamente en las maquinas para su flexibilidad y los aparatos de compuerta de las centrales hidroelectricas.
En estos tiempos, esta fabrica presta mucha atencion a la introduccion de nuevas tecnologias avanzadas.
