S. Korean Authorities' Vote for U.S. Resolution against North Assailed

Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities shamelessly showed their hand in favor of a UN resolution on human rights in north Korea at the instigation of the U.S. A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland in a statement on Nov. 18 dismissed the south Korean authorities' approval of the resolution as a treacherous provocative act of joining in the U.S. criminal act to internationalize the "human rights issue" together with the nuclear issue and escalate international sanctions and pressure against the DPRK and an intolerable anti-reunification act of destroying the groundwork of the June 15 joint declaration and hamstringing the development of the north-south relations.
    The statement continued:
The "human rights abuses" in the north much touted by the U.S. are nothing but a sheer fabrication aimed to undermine and bring down the DPRK and a poor pretext that can be made only by those who are afraid of the advantage and invincibility of man-centred Korean-style socialism.
The south Korean authorities have already sacrificed the humanitarian undertakings between the fellow countrymen to serve outsiders, chiming in with the U.S. moves to apply sanctions and pressure upon the DPRK. They also laid another stumbling block in the way of improving the inter-Korean relations by joining in the collective sanctions against the north.
The south Korean authorities' act of joining in the U.S. anti-DPRK human rights racket adds another crime to their treacherous crimes.
With no clumsy excuses can the south Korean authorities justify their act of slandering the advantageous social system in the north and pushing the north-south relations back to those in the era of confrontation.
Those maintaining their power by reading the face of outsiders rather than defending the dignity and interests of the nation would have no face to sit with the north.
The south Korean authorities will be fully accountable for all the serious consequences to be entailed by their criminal act of laying another stumbling block in the way of improving the north-south relations.

Rodong Sinmun on Idea of "By Our Nation Itself"

Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- The idea of "By our nation itself" Kim Jong Il clarified at the historic summit in Pyongyang and stipulated in the June 15 joint declaration is the idea of national independence and the great proposition of national reunification representing the fellow countrymen's spirit and will for independent reunification. Rodong Sinmun says this in a signed article Sunday. The idea of "By our nation itself", the core of the inter-Korean joint declaration, reflects the idea for the Korean nation to resolve the national issue, the issue of national reunification by its concerted efforts with responsibility, not allowing any outside interference, the article says, and goes on:
The idea reflects the will of the Workers' Party of Korea to achieve national reunification independently and peacefully with the great unity of the nation in the interests of the Korean nation.
The idea opened a new era of national history, the era of independent national reunification which was beyond imagination before.
At present all the fellow countrymen value the idea, the spirit and banner of the times opening and leading the era of independent national reunification, and are full of firm will to defend the honor and dignity of the nation. It is the unshakable determination and will of all the fellow countrymen to achieve great national unity and the peace and independent reunification of the country under the banner of "By our nation itself".
The vigorous advance of the June 15 era of reunification under the banner of the idea despite the vicious challenge and obstructive moves of the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad clearly proves that the idea is the banner of promoting and leading the development of the era of independent reunification and the idea of the whole nation representing tremendous validity and vitality.
It can be said that the advance of the June 15 era of reunification was the process of applying the idea of "By our nation itself". All the achievements made in the struggle for national unity and reunification since the publication of the June 15 joint declaration are the brilliant fruition borne by the idea of "By our nation itself", the main spirit of the joint declaration.
The idea is more shining in the struggle for defending peace of the country and security of the nation and advancing the cause of independent reunification today when the U.S. imperialists have become all the more undisguised in their moves to provoke a new war against DPRK.
With no desperate efforts the separatists at home and abroad can stamp out the idea of "By our nation itself" deep-rooted in the hearts of the Korean nation and block the advance of the June 15 era of reunification under its banner.

Japan Urged to Apologize and Compensate for Past Crime

Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Sunday carries a signed commentary 101 years after the Japanese imperialists cooked up the "Ulsa (1905) Five-Point Treaty". The commentary urges Japan to fully apologize and compensate for the crimes of its colonial rule over Korea. The "Ulsa Five-Point Treaty", which was rigged up on Nov. 17, 1905, is an illegal and hideous treaty unprecedented in history.
On the strength of the illegal treaty the Japanese imperialists deprived the Korean nation of national rights and forced them to the miserable fate of slavery under their harsh colonial rule of many years.
Since they occupied Korea by force of arms and turned it into a big prison, they had inflicted uncountable human and material calamity on the Korean nation and schemed to exterminate the Korean nation itself.
More than a century has passed since the treaty was fabricated for the purpose of shackling the Korean nation to the fetters of colonial slavery and 60 years since the defeat of the Japanese imperialists. However Japan has not yet apologized and compensated to the Korean nation for its hideous act of aggression and unethical crimes against the Korean nation. On the contrary, the Japanese reactionaries have distorted and justified their blood-stained history of aggression. They have become evermore frantic in their moves for comeback to Korea, claiming Tok Islet, a sacred territory of Korea, as their land.
They let loose extreme provocative outcries that Japan may launch a war with the north, openly resorting to a hostile policy towards the DPRK, pursuant to the U.S. imperialists' moves to provoke a war of aggression against Korea.
Japan is an inveterate and sworn enemy of the Korean nation in the view of the past history and the present reality. The Japanese reactionaries would be well advised to immediately drop their wild dream of staging comeback to Korea which will be entailed a catastrophic disaster.

Annual Meeting of Nigerian National Committee for Study of Juche Idea Held

Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- An annual meeting of the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea was held in Abuja on Nov. 9. The meeting heard a report delivered by its Chairman M. M. Alhassan and speeches by chairmen of the Nigerian Group for the Study of Kimjongilism and the Nigerian Group for the Study of the Juche Philosophy.
The reporter and speakers unanimously referred to the fact that the immortal Juche idea, the Songun idea is studied and disseminated on a worldwide scale as it has great attraction and vitality. This is entirely attributable to the greatness of the idea, leadership, personalities and traits of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, they said.
They stressed the need to expand the organizations for the study of the Juche idea and the Songun idea and intensify relationship between the International Institute of the Juche Idea and organizations for the study of the Juche idea in different countries.
It is the duty of the followers of the Juche idea to smash the moves of the imperialists and actively support the struggle of the Korean people who are building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation, they said, expressing their determination to further strengthen solidarity activities in different forms and ways.
Action program for 2007 was discussed at the meeting.

S. Korean Military Authorities' Theory of "Preemptive Attack" under Fire

Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- Professors of Air Force Academy of south Korea called for making a "preemptive attack" on the DPRK in an "international seminar on air force power" co-sponsored by the Management Institute of Yonsei University of south Korea and an institute of the U.S. A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland in information bulletin No. 927 on Nov. 18 denounced the belligerent remarks made by the south Korean military as a dangerous balderdash aimed to ignite a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula pursuant to the U.S. policy of sanctions, pressure and war against the DPRK.
The DPRK's nuclear deterrent is a shield to protect peace against the U.S. moves of sanctions and pressure against the DPRK and its nuclear threat, not targeting south Korea, the information bulletin said, and continued:
The belligerent force of the south Korean military are talking about the theory of "preemptive attack," raising a hue and cry over the non-existent "threat" from the DPRK. This is an intolerable provocation against the DPRK and a treacherous crime seeking to act as a shock brigade in executing the U.S. nuclear war against the DPRK.
This clearly proves once again that it is not just accidental that the south Korean warlike forces are spurring on war exercises against the north and arms build-up with the backing of the U.S., but it is prompted by their sinister purpose to launch a new war together with the outsiders.
The "preemptive attack on the north" means provocation of a nuclear war.
The south Korean warlike forces, nuclear war servants of the U.S., had better behave with discretion, bearing in mind that they, along with their masters, will never escape a shameless defeat in face of merciless and just counterattack from the north.

New Documentary Released

Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- The Korean Scientific Documentary Film Studio recently released "From the Looks of Korean Women". The film vividly portrays Korean women dynamically pushing the one wheel of the revolution under the loving care and trust of the three generals of Mt. Paektu.
The film also shows the proud appearances of women soldiers defending the socialist homeland with arms of revolution in their hands, wives of officers exalting the noble title of members of cooking section of the Supreme Headquarters and women in the Songun era working hard to assist the People's Army with sincerity and build a great prosperous powerful nation.

Rodong Sinmun on False and Reactionary Nature of Bourgeois Democracy

Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- Democracy calls for shaping policies according to the intention of the broad popular masses, implementing them to serve their interests and substantially providing them with genuine freedom, rights and happy life. Such genuine democracy is socialist democracy, says Rodong Sinmun Sunday in a signed article. There can never be genuine democracy in the capitalist society where all the state power is in the hands of a few capitalists and it is based on individualism, the article says, and goes on:
The popular masses cannot seize power and they are excluded from independent political activities and the state power is in the clutches of a handful capitalists. This is one of main reasons why there can never be genuine democracy in the capitalist society.
Another reason why there can never be genuine democracy in the capitalist society is that this society is based on extreme individualism.
Democracy claimed by the imperialists is sham democracy and it is no more than a camouflage to deceive the popular masses and cover the reactionary nature of bourgeois dictatorship and the unpopular nature of the capitalist system.
Bourgeois democracy, so-called democracy in the capitalist society, provides freedom and rights to the privileged capitalists only and no rights and equality are given to the broad grassroots masses. This democracy, therefore, can not be called democracy in its true sense of the word.
The false and reactionary nature of bourgeois democracy can be found in the socio-political lives of Americans.
There are many youngsters roaming about to get food and homeless and unemployed people in the U.S.
The freedom of speech and the freedom of the press in the U.S. where the reactionary American rulers loudly propagandized about the application of democracy are no more than bourgeois democracy, bogus democracy.
Free election campaigns which the U.S. rulers advertise as model of democracy clearly prove the true nature of bourgeois democracy.
They say equal opportunity and equal freedom and rights are provided to all people but, in fact, it is only a handful of privileged strata who benefit from them. Herein lies another reactionary nature of the bourgeois democracy.

S. Korean Military's Arms Build-up under Fire

Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson Sunday castigates the south Korean military for its moves to develop new weapons and extensively introduce weapons of mass destruction and military hardware from the U.S. The south Korean military reportedly announced that it would complete the development of mobile radar system and start its test from next year and is now keen on deploying indigenously developed tanks for an actual war from 2011, the news analyst says, and goes on:
South Korea seeks to introduce ultra-modern nuclear war means and weapons including F-15K, Aegis destroyers and air-to-ground guided missiles a few years ahead of what is scheduled by 2012.
The south Korean military's spending of huge amount of fund for the development and introduction of new weapons is not to defend the security of the nation from the outsiders' aggression. Herein lies their gravity.
In fact, the south Korean military is openly clamoring that the development and introduction of new weapons are to target the north, thus clearly revealing by itself that it is working hard with bloodshot eyes to incite confrontation with the fellow countrymen in the north, pursuant to the U.S. moves to stifle it.
The south Korean bellicose forces would be better off knowing that confrontation with fellow countrymen is a suicidal act of digging their own graves. War knows no mercy. Only miserable defeat will await those who run reckless keen on serving outside aggressors.
The south Korean warlike forces had better ponder over the grave consequences to be entailed by their provocative arms buildup moves.
The south Korean military should belatedly come to its own senses, side with the nation and turn guns at the U.S. aggressors who have brought the cloud of nuclear war to hang over the nation after occupying south Korea by force for more than 60 years.

Speakers at the opening ceremony said they deemed it an honor to open the exhibition on the above-said occasion. It is an indication that the friendly relations between the two countries have grown stronger, they noted.
The exhibition would offer all the teachers and students of the university an opportunity to learn more about the DPRK, they said, adding that the DPRK is advancing, guided by the ideas of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
Korean films were shown at the ceremony.

U.S. Brigandish Demand under Fire in S. Korea

Pyongyang, November 18 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification of south Korea reportedly called a press conference in front of the building of the "Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade" in Seoul on Nov. 13 in demand of an immediate stop to the negotiation on sharing the funds for the upkeep of the U.S. forces in south Korea. A letter of protest to the "Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade" was read out at the press conference.
Referring to the fact that the U.S. and south Korean authorities held the 5th round of the negotiation for the conclusion of the special agreement on sharing the funds for the upkeep of the U.S. forces in south Korea, the protest letter said that it is an illegal and brigandish practice for the U.S. to pressurize the south Korean authorities to increase the share of the funds, talking about "fair burden."
Accusing the U.S. of imposing an unreasonable special agreement upon south Korea to force it to cover even the funds for the upkeep of its aggressor troops though they are present there to realize its wild ambition for world supremacy, the letter charged that this action is intolerable.
It urged the authorities to reject the U.S. unfair demand, immediately pull out of the above-said negotiation and stop the humiliating support to the U.S. in war supplies.

U.S. Flying Corps Busy with Anti-DPRK Air War Exercises

Pyongyang, November 18 (KCNA) -- Flying corps of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces recently staged madcap air war exercises targeted against the DPRK with the sky above south Korea as an operational theater, straining the situation on the Korean Peninsula, according to a military source. B-52s took off a base in Guam and flew in the air over Nyongwol and Thaebaek areas on Nov. 15 and 16 for hours for frantic bomb-dropping exercises and long-distance flight drills. An E-3 took off the Kadena base in Okinawa and flew in the air over Kumsan, Yongdong, Ansong and Kongju areas on Nov. 16 to command flying corps engaged in air war exercises.
More than 20 overseas-based F-15s and F/A-18s flew into airforce bases of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces in south Korea on Nov. 16 and 17 before staging madcap take-off and landing exercises and exercises for striking targets.
On Nov. 15, 16 and 17 a formation of fighters of the 7th air force of the above-said aggressor forces in south Korea flew in the air over Tokjok Islet and Yangphyong, Chonan and Yongdong areas for air battle drills, exercises for striking targets on the land and close air support exercises, regarding it as its operational theatre.
This war hysteria kicked up by the U.S. imperialist aggression troops almost everyday in a premeditated way goes to clearly prove that they are going reckless to realize their attempt at a surprise preemptive attack on the DPRK.
