S. Korean Security Authorities' Fascist Plot under Fire

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The "Prosecution" and "Intelligence Service" of south Korea are busy investigating five former and incumbent leading members of the Democratic Workers' Party after arresting them on charges of violating the "National Security Law" (NSL). They took such action, asserting that they got in touch with an "operative from the north" and they were "suspected of visiting the north without permission." Commenting on this, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun Friday says: Such anachronistic action of the south Korean security authorities is, in a nutshell, one more anti-DPRK racket kicked up at the instigation of the U.S. and pro-U.S. conservatives in south Korea and a fascist plot reminding one of the past era of dictatorship.
The fascist racket kicked up by the U.S. and pro-U.S. conservative forces in south Korea on the basis of sheer lies goes to prove that they are going reckless in their moves to block the advance of the June 15 era of reunification, the news analyst notes, and goes on:
It is foolish of them to try to fan up hostility toward the DPRK among south Koreans by employing such stereotyped method as cooking up a "spy ring case" in the June 15 era of reunification. This rowdyism only lays bare their despicable colors and precipitates their self-destruction.

Anti-U.S., Anti-War Rally in Seoul

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The Seoul Reunification Solidarity, the Seoul People's Solidarity and the Seoul Headquarters of the Movement for Checking the "south Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement" reportedly held the sixth anti-U.S., anti-war Seoul regional rally in Kwanghwamun on Oct. 28. It was held on the theme of opposing sanctions against the DPRK, denouncing the U.S. for putting pressure on south Korea to participate in the "PSI" and checking the conclusion of south Korea-U.S. FTA.
Speakers including the permanent representative of the Seoul Reunification Solidarity and the chairman of the Seoul City Committee of the Democratic Workers' Party at the rally called upon the progressive camps to pool their efforts to form one front to foil the U.S. moves.
The movement for peace against war provides the only way of defusing the crisis on the Korean Peninsula, they noted, appealing to all the people from the Seoul region to pool their efforts so as to remove the danger of war and terminate the south Korea-U.S. "alliance".
Contending that the U.S. pressure upon south Korea to take part in the PSI is only escalating the tension on the peninsula, they accused the Grand National Party of south Korea and other pro-U.S. conservative forces of toeing the U.S. line. They demanded the GNP and other pro-U.S. conservative forces stop at once inciting the U.S. moves for a war.

The book is reportedly on sale in south Korea.

Intensified Struggle for Independence against Outside Forces Called for

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Papers here Friday dedicate signed articles to the 77th anniversary of the popular uprising of youth and students and people in Kwangju against the Japanese imperialists' acts of despising the Koreans and their colonial rule over Korea. Rodong Sinmun says the Kwangju students' incident taught a precious lesson that a nation should have an outstanding leader at its head and the whole nation should firmly unite as one and wage a nationwide struggle to defend its dignity and independence.
    It goes on:
Much water has flown since the Kwangju students' incident. The banner of independence against outside forces which has always been held aloft has served as a banner in the life and struggle of the Korean nation.
It is more than sixty years since the U.S. occupied south Korea taking the place of the Japanese imperialists. It has since imposed only misfortune and sufferings resulting from national division upon the Korean nation, encroaching upon the national dignity and sovereignty.
The history and reality clearly prove that the U.S. and Japanese imperialists are the sworn enemies of the whole Korean nation as they have done harm to the Koreans and sought to enslave them generation after generation.
The soul of the participants in the Kwangju uprising calls for a dynamic struggle against outside forces and for the withdrawal of the U.S. troops.
The youths and students and people in south Korea and all other fellow countrymen in the north and overseas should inherit the strong spirit of independence and the indomitable self-sacrificing spirit with which Kwangju students rose in the uprising 77 years ago against the outside forces' domination and national humiliation and wage a just and bold patriotic struggle to establish sovereignty of the nation. Minju Joson says that the Korean people will never forget the hideous crimes the Japanese imperialists committed by bringing unspeakable misfortune and sufferings to the Korean nation in the past but surely force Japan to pay for them.

New Book Sees Light

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The Kum Song Youth Publishing House brought out a book "Complete Collection of Legends of Three Generals of Mt. Paektu" Vols. 15. The book deals with at least 500 chapters out of the legends telling about the great revolutionary life and undying revolutionary history of the great persons born of heaven. The chapters (1-5) of the book dealing with legends about Mt. Paektu include legends titled "Where on Earth Are They?" and "Countless Art of Shortening Distance." They refer to the historical facts that President Kim Il Sung instilled conviction of victory into the Koreans and brought the dawn of national liberation to them by leading a million-strong troops of the Japanese imperialists by the nose and wiping them out by skillfully applying the protean tactics in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. Chapter 6 related to the memorial service includes legends titled "White Ribbon Hanging in the Vast Expanse of Sky" and "Unceasing Bemoaning" that tell about the natural wonders which took place in different parts of the country after the demise of Kim Il Sung.
Chapters (7-11) dealing with legends about the loadstar of Mt. Paektu contain legends captioned "Thunder on Jong Il Peak," "the Greatest-ever Commander" and "Little General." The above-said legends tell touching stories that leader Kim Jong Il, possessed of the spirit of Mt. Paektu as an inborn disposition, made the enemy shudder with his matchless pluck and mettle, ever-changing tactics and wisdom and is highly praised by the people for his distinguished political caliber and noble personality. Chapter 12 dealing with legends about the woman commander of Mt. Paektu contains legends about anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk such as "Legend about Mt. O" and "Woman Commander of Mt. Paektu."
The book also has chapters (13-15) dealing with legends about the Kumsusan Memorial Palace.
They tell legends about the revolutionary activities of the peerlessly great men associated with the Kumsusan Memorial Palace, the supreme temple of Juche, and the area of Kumsusan.

Kim Yong Nam Meets South Korean Party Delegation

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, met and had a talk with the delegation of the Democratic Workers' Party of south Korea headed by its Representative Mun Song Hyon at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Friday. Present there were Mun Pyong Rok, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Social Democratic Party, and officials concerned.

Actions Taken by S. Korean Authorities to Disallow Pyongyang Visits under Fire

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities have recently disallowed the Pyongyang visit by a group of youths and students for reunification, which the South Side's Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration planned to arrange so that they might visit historic sites in the north, under the absurd pretext of taking the present inter-Korean relations and situation on the Korean Peninsula into consideration. They also blocked the scheduled visits to Pyongyang by representatives of various reunification movement organizations grouping people from all walks of life, aid organizations and even religious organizations in south Korea. In this regard the Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland issued information bulletin No. 924 Friday.
Terming these actions intolerable treacherous acts of standing in the way of inter-Korean reconciliation and cooperation and joining the U.S. in its sanctions against the DPRK, the bulletin said, and went on:
The above-said actions taken by the south Korean authorities against the group of youths and students for reunification and non-governmental organizations and their moves to hamstring even the aid projects of the organizations under the pressure of outsiders and anti-reunification forces go to clearly prove once again that they are deeply involved in the U.S. sanctions against the DPRK.
The south Korean authorities had better to behave themselves, well aware that they would be strongly protested and condemned by all the Koreans for joining the U.S. in its sanctions against the DPRK.
Absolutely intolerable are the actions taken to disallow the Pyongyang visits by south Koreans of different strata including youths and students and inter-Korean non-governmental cooperation.
The south Korean authorities should retract the "actions" and permit at once the Pyongyang visits by the above-said group and non-governmental organizations.

Activated Insam Capsules for Liver Protection Developed

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Activated insam capsules for liver protection developed by Kanggye University of Medicine in the DPRK are hailed by local and foreign clients for its high efficacy. The drug, made with more than ten Koryo medicinal materials including insam (ginseng), is potent for acute and chronic hepatitis, hepatic cirrhosis, fatty liver, toxic hepatitis, cholecystitis and pancreatitis.
It, with strong detox function, detoxifies various poisons including alcoholism and food poisoning. And in case of taking medicinal chemicals together with the drug, the liver can be protected. Taking it after liquors helps eliminating poisonous action on liver by alcohol within two hours.
The drug was highly appreciated at the 9th national exhibition of inventions and new technology held in September.
It obtained a patent of the DPRK in June this year.
It also won the highest prize at the International Patented Technologies and Products Trade Fair held in Dalian, China, in August last, for its high hepatitis B antigen elimination factor.
Researcher of Kanggye University of Medicine Song Myong Won who made the drug told KCNA that its clinical test showed complete cure of more than 97.5 percent.

Japanese Imperialists' Plunder of Land Denounced

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea issued a statement on Nov. 3, 100 years since the Japanese imperialists cooked up and promulgated on November 6, 1906 the "order by the Residency-General" what they called "regulations on land and real estate" for the purpose of justifying their plunder of land after occupying Korea. The statement said:
These regulations granted the Japanese landowners legitimate rights with the approval given by "the Board of Directors of the Residency-General," providing them with a "legal guarantee" for expropriating land in Korea to an unlimited extent. These regulations also stipulated that in case dealings in land ownership and land transfer are made between foreigners and Koreans, or between foreigners except Japanese, they would have " legal validity" only when certified by Japan. The Japanese imperialists thus totally deprived Korea of legal rights to the sale and transfer of land ownership.
These crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists after illegally occupying Korea are hideous international crimes that can neither be written off nor covered up no matter how much water may flow under the bridge.
Japan should apologize and compensate the Korean nation for this crime-woven history.
Japan is the inveterate and sworn enemy of the Korean nation as it is hell-bent on justifying its brigandish invasion against Korea and harsh colonial rule over it and stepping up the moves to launch reinvasion, far from apologizing and compensating for them.
All the Koreans will never pardon the crimes committed by Japan against them in the past but surely force it to pay for them.

He was accompanied by KPA Generals Ri Myong Su, Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong and Hwang Pyong So, vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK.

Walking round the compound of the barracks reminding one of a rest home, he learnt in detail about how the unit is managed.
All the units of the KPA have reached a high level not only in the combat and political training but in their management, he said, stressing this shining success clearly shows what a high level the KPA has reached in the fields of ideology, morality, culture and traits as a standard-bearer and main force for the Songun revolution. Then he took deep care of the living of the servicepersons, going round a bedroom, a mess hall, a kitchen, a wash-cum-bath house, a subsidiary food store and other logistic facilities.
He spared time to watch soldiers of a company of the unit having a gathering to boast their native places.
Hearing them expressing their ardent love for their native places and the homeland, he said that one strong in love for his native place has fervent patriotism and one strong in patriotism has a high degree of revolutionary enthusiasm.
Expressing great satisfaction over the fact that the unit is conducting the socialist and patriotic education of the soldiers in a new form and by a unique method, he underlined the need for all fields to earnestly learn from the anti-Japanese guerilla-style of political work conducted by the KPA in a unique manner to suit the sentiment, emotion and mental characteristics of servicepersons. He had a photo session with the servicepersons of the unit.
