Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il's famous work "Let's Give Fuller Play to the Advantages of Our People's Power" was brought out in booklet by the Bangladesh-DPRK Friendship and Solidarity Committee on September 1. The work published on December 21, Juche 81 (1992) clarifies the issue of the solidity and vitality of the people's power, the issue of increasing its function and role, the issue of steadfastly maintaining its fundamental principle and the issue of improving and strengthening the work of its organs.

Kim Jong Il's Songun Revolutionary Leadership Lauded

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- The Korean people will always emerge victorious as they are led by Kim Jong Il. Dermot Hudson, chairman of the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, said this in a statement on August 25 on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership. He said that the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered by President Kim Il Sung could make dynamic progress and the self-reliant national defence power of the DPRK significantly grow stronger as Kim Jong Il started the Songun revolutionary leadership.
Thanks to his Songun revolutionary leadership the Korean people could achieve only victories in the fierce political and military confrontation with the U.S. imperialists, he noted.

U.S. Foreign Policy Is Bound to Ruin

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- It is foolish enough to accelerate self-destruction to try to dominate and subjugate other nations, disregarding the requirements and trend of the times and resorting to the antiquated methods. Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says this in a signed article on the daily growing international accusation of the U.S. foreign policy.
The Italian foreign minister, the mayor of London and others sharply accused the Bush administration of pursuing wrong internal and external policies and arguments about the issue of his "security strategy" are getting acute between the ruling and opposition parties in the U.S., the article points out, and goes on:
The U.S. has sustained the harshest defeat in Iraq ever since the Vietnam war. The U.S. is now placed in an awkward position.
Regarding the quandary of the U.S. in the Iraqi situation, the world public said: The civil war in Iraq originated in the Iraqi war ignited by the U.S." The Bush administration is at a loss unable to devise any appropriate measure or strategy to cope with the Iraqi situation, not knowing how it is developing. This is a due product of the Bush group's disability and belligerent action.
The U.S. is pursuing world domination, resorting to strong-arm action and the policy of strength. Since the September 11 incident the U.S. has divided other countries into two groups by saying "You are either with us or against us" and it designated those countries going against the grain with it as "sponsors of terrorism" to put pressure upon them.
For its interests the U.S. did not bother to trample down on international treaties or norms and sacrifice others. The Afghan and Iraqi wars brought to light the brigandish nature of the U.S. The U.S. is paying dearly for the unreasonable internal and external policies of the Bush group.
Every sin brings its punishment with it. The international isolation of the U.S. is daily deepening and hastening its ruin. The U.S. is working hard to stop it, but there is no other way out but ruin for the Bush group.

Increasing National Defence Capability Called for

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- The prevailing situation requires each country to consolidate its defence capability in every way and make good preparations for beating back any surprise armed attack of the imperialists and reactionaries. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
    It goes on:
In order for any country to defend itself it is important to have a correct view on war, among other things.
This can be proved by what happened in Iraq. The Iraqi army and people lacked the readiness, fighting spirit and faith that they should struggle against the imperialists in a do-or-die spirit and win victory over them at any cost.
The lesson taught by the case of Iraq tells that any country should have a correct view on war and high ideological awareness to destroy the imperialists to the last man.
In order for any country to defend itself it is also important to augment its military power.
What happened in Lebanon and Iraq prove the truth that a country with weak military capacity can neither defend its sovereignty nor contribute to the peace and security in the world.
A war means a clash between the two different armies. No one can protect the sovereignty and destiny of other's country and nation. A country can reliably defend itself only when it manufactures necessary weapons by itself.
It is essential to fortify the whole country. This is more essential in case of a modern war where there is no difference between the front and the rear. Fortifying the whole country would make it possible to beat back any invasion of the imperialists.
Entirely just are the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea for attaching importance to the army, the line of building self-defensive revolutionary armed forces and principles to implement it and Korean-style mode of military retaliation.
If the U.S. imperialists dare test its theory of strength against the DPRK, they will not be able to escape their final destruction.
When the progressive countries and nations of the world firmly defend themselves with their own military power, the imperialists and reactionaries will not be able to perpetrate aggression and war as they please.

Israel's Killings of Civilians Assailed

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun in a commentary Wednesday lambastes the brutal murder of civilians committed by Israel through indiscriminate air raids on Lebanon in over 30 days. Recalling that Israeli aggressors did not think twice about using cluster bombs which are banned by an international convention, the analyst says: This is the extra large human rights crime rare to be seen in human history as it is a criminal massacre applicable to article 2 of "Agreement on preventing mass killings and punishing the criminals " concluded in 1948.
Such atrocities were committed with the zealous support of the United States which does not let a chance pass by without paying lip service to "defense of human rights."
This is clear from the fact that no sooner had Israel started military strikes on Lebanon than the U.S. provided Israel with fighter planes, helicopters and other death tools and all the cluster bombs dropped on Lebanon had been produced in the U.S. The U.S. is the chieftain of human rights abuses.
When voices castigating the brutal massacre of civilians by the Israeli aggressors in the Lebanese war grew louder, the U.S. and other Western countries tried to conceal their crimes, grumbling that the accusation "does not coincide with the fact." But this is a poor subterfuge.
If the extra large human rights crimes committed by the U.S. and Israel behind the curtain of "defense of human rights" are connived at, the world would turn into a lawless land.
Human conscience will never pardon them and history is sure to pass a fair decision.

Anniversary of Kim Il Sung's Work Observed

Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today dedicates an article to the 20th anniversary of the publication of President Kim Il Sung's famous work "Preventing War and Preserving Peace Are the Burning Tasks of Mankind". The work, published on September 6, Juche 75 (1986), clearly clarifies the importance of the issue of relaxing tension on the Korean Peninsula and blocking the danger of a nuclear war and the tasks to prevent a new world war and a thermonuclear war and defend world peace.
    The article says:
The work is a highly important guideline that the Korean people and the world progressives should persistently hold fast to and apply in building a free and peaceful new world under the uplifted banner of the anti-imperialist struggle.
It is a decisive guarantee for victory in the stand-off with the U.S. to hold Kim Jong Il in high esteem at the head of revolution.
We could emerge victorious in the confrontation with the U.S. imperialists and win a victory in the hard struggle to defend socialism thanks to the leadership of Kim Jong Il, illustrious commander of Mt. Paektu.
The invincible revolutionary army, strengthened under the Songun leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea, is the most powerful treasured sword to prevent war and defend peace.
It is a serious lesson taught by the present situation of the world that if one country does not strengthen its army, it is trampled down and enslaved by others. Powerful arms are sure to guarantee socialism and peace.
The invincible single-minded unity around the headquarters of revolution is a sure guarantee for a final victory in the stand-off with the U.S.
The single-minded unity is unbreakable as it has been forged and consolidated in the flames of the most hard-fought struggle against imperialism and the U.S. No force on earth can match the might of the unity.
We will win a final victory in the showdown with the U.S. though the situation of revolution is now arduous and complicated.
