U.S. False Propaganda prior to Military Invasion under Fire

Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- It is preposterous for the U.S. imperialists to resort to a false propaganda against other countries, lording it over in the international arena and this is nothing but a mockery of humankind. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
    It goes on:
The West is engaged in a ceaseless false propaganda in a bid to isolate Iran in the international arena by branding its peaceful nuclear activities as ones for "the development of nuclear weapons" and seek a regime change.
They are bringing such groundless charges as "violation of human rights", "development of nuclear weapons" and "terrorism sponsorship" to other countries by spreading sheer lies and misinformation in a bid to mislead the international public opinion, find a pretext for aggression and war and justify their moves.
It is a vicious, crafty and trite method for them to resort to a false propaganda prior to aggression and war.
The U.S. imperialists' invasion of Iraq patently proved that they are the outrageous aggressors who do not hesitate to fake up lies and resort to any false propaganda in order to achieve their sinister purpose of aggression.
They are now engrossed in a vicious anti-DPRK smear campaign based on sheer lies.
They are foolish enough to tarnish the international prestige of the DPRK while going busy infiltrating reactionary bourgeois ideas and culture into its society in a bid to destabilize it. All sorts of false propaganda conducted by them against the DPRK are aimed at serving this purpose. It is an operation to be carried out by them prior to invading it by force of arms.
In fact, they are staging large-scale military exercises one after another after massively bringing aggression forces and modern military hardware into south Korea and its vicinity under the pretext of the non-existent "threat from north Korea" and the like.
They are planning to conduct "Ulji Focus Lens" joint military exercises in the wake of "RIMPAC-2006" joint war maneuvers. These reckless moves against the DPRK have created such a tense situation on the Korean Peninsula that a war may break out there any moment.
Progressive mankind is called upon to heighten the vigilance against the U.S. imperialists' sheer false propaganda, aware that it is bound to be followed by military aggression.

Probe into Truth behind U.S. Forces' Bombing of Tok Islet and Mass Killing of Civilians Called for

Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- The United States should probe the truth behind the bombing of Tok Islet and mass killing of civilians committed by a bomber of the U.S. forces on June 9, 1948 and apologize to the Korean nation for the crimes and withdraw them from south Korea. Minju Joson Sunday demands this in a signed commentary. It goes on:
At that time the U.S. forces side hushed up the case by asserting that the plane wrongly killed the fishermen by mistaking fishing boats for rocks and had made desperate efforts to keep the truth about the case buried into oblivion for more than half a century.
This time a civic organization on Ullung Island found out specific evidence such as shrapnel and unexploded bombs proving mass killing of civilians committed by the U.S. forces on Tok Islet, depriving the U.S. of any excuse to evade the responsibility for the massacre.
The case substantially proves that the U.S. occupation of south Korea was not to protect the south Korean people.
The south Korean people can never be free from any misfortune and disasters so long as the U.S. troops remain in south Korea.
It is an act of treachery to ask the beast-like U.S. imperialists to protect the "security" of south Korea because they indiscriminately kill civilians even in peacetime.
The south Korean authorities should take a step to force the U.S. troops to withdraw from south Korea as demanded by the people.

Ho Il Jin, chairman of the Korean Orthodox Church Committee, made a speech at the ceremony to be followed by congratulatory speeches by Patriarch Kirill, Jang Jae On, chairman of the Korean Religionists' Association, and Viktor Gorchyakov, deputy governor of the Maritime Provincial Administration of the Russian Federation.
Ho Il Jin in his speech said the inauguration of the Jongbaek Church on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of Kim Jong Il's historic visit to the Russian Federation marked an occasion in boosting the relations between the DPRK and Russia.
The speaker recalled that Kim Jong Il, during his visit to the Far Eastern region of Russia, highly praised the Orthodox Church for having played the role of a pacemaker in developing the history and culture of Russia in the past and preserving the national tradition and gave an instruction on building a church in Pyongyang so that Orthodox Church goers might lead a pious life during their visit to Korea.
Pointing out that the Russian side has rendered sincere assistance to the DPRK in the construction of the church in the last three years, ho noted that the DPRK side would successfully manage and operate the church as desired by the peoples of the two countries and make positive efforts to preserve peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.
Kirill in his congratulatory speech noted with joy that the Jongbaek Church has been successfully built thanks to the initiative and deep care of Kim Jong Il, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, thus restoring the religious and fraternal ties established between the two countries more than a century back.
The ceremony was followed by a consecration rite.
The Korean Orthodox Church Committee hosted a reception at the People's Palace of Culture on the same day in connection with the completion of the church.

Kim Jong Il Inspects Stock-Breeding Centre of KPA Unit

Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected the stock-breeding centre of KPA Unit 757. He was briefed on the history of the centre before visiting the rabbit farm.
He went round various places of the farm including rabbit hutches and food-preparing rooms built in a peculiar style to acquaint himself in detail with breeding and production. He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that they have produced and supplied a huge quantity of hare meat to the servicepersons every year.
He visited the house of Yun Ho Jung, manager of the farm who has worked there for years. There he was told about the experience gained by his family in breeding rabbits. He praised the family for having set a good example in rabbit raising through the efforts of all its members.
Kim Jong Il said that Yun has worked hard, single-mindedly determined to carry out the WPK's policy of stock-breeding to the letter, and thus made a great contribution to the development of the nation's stock-breeding. He highly appreciated Yun's ardent patriotic spirit, saying that Yun is a genuine patriot as he has devoted all his wisdom and energies to the prosperity of the country.
The farm has clearly proved in practice the advantages of the rabbit raising, he noted, underscoring the need for all units to earnestly follow its example. The next leg of his inspection was a goat farm of the unit.
He went round the production processes where all kinds of work from milking to milk processing is done by modern machines and cultural and public service facilities kept neat and tidy. He highly praised the feats performed by servicepersons of the unit, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that they are mass-producing a variety of processed milk products on the modern farm.
He set forth tasks to be tackled to manage and operate the farm, underscoring the need to improve the goat raising and ensuring full-capacity operation of the equipment to increase the supply of goat milk and processed milk products to the servicepersons.
Looking round the new pasture created by the unit, he said it is important for stock-breeding to create grazing land and underlined the need for the goat and rabbit farms to pay deep attention to this matter.
As our country has many mountains, it is possible to raise goats and rabbits and other grass-eating animals in every part of it, he noted, calling for more dynamically conducting this work in a mass movement to bring about a signal leap forward in turning out livestock products.
He was accompanied by KPA Generals Ri Myong Su, Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong and Ri Je Gang and Ri Jae Il, first vice department directors of the C.C., WPK, and Hwang Pyong So, vice department director of the same.
