Kim Jong Il Gives On-Site Guidance to New Pyongyang Taesong Tyre Factory

Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave on-site guidance to the newly built Pyongyang Taesong Tyre Factory. The factory has a total floor space of more than 2,000 square meters and all its production processes are automated.
After being briefed on the factory in front of a huge painting showing a panoramic view of the factory, he went round various production processes to learn in detail about its construction and production there.
Watching tyres being manufactured through streamlined production processes and automated workshops, he expressed satisfaction over the successful construction of the factory. It is a great achievement that constructors have built the factory meeting the need of the new century in a short span of time, he said.
A rapid increase in the number of vehicles requires the increased production of different kinds of tyres, he said, underscoring the need to boost the production of tyres of diverse sizes.
Noting that an effective use of the existing production capacity would make it possible to increase the manufacture of tyres, he called on the factory to wage a vigorous drive to operate in full capacity so as to keep the production going at a high rate and, at the same time, raise the quality of products, while paying attention to the maintenance of equipment and technical management.
Praising the workers of the factory for keeping its inside and outside neat and tidy, he said that the working class in the DPRK should take the lead also in introducing the culture created by soldiers in the Songun era.

U.S. Accused of Military Reinforcement and Exercises

Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- The Bush administration is raising the military spending and accelerating the production of new sophisticated weapons allegedly to arrest terrorism and guarantee peace. Meanwhile, it is ceaselessly staging large-scale war exercises in different parts of the world, increasing the danger of war. Commenting on such moves, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says:
After the Cold War the United States has pushed ahead with the reorganization and relocation of the U.S. military forces mainly to establish its domination over the Asia-Pacific region, massively deploying modern military equipment in the region. And it has ceaselessly conducted all-round military exercises aimed at preemptive attack, intentionally rendering the situation strained.
RIMPAC-2006, the joint military exercises now under way in the waters of the Pacific, is also a naval offensive operation, pursuant to the U.S. strategy for domination over the Asia-Pacific region, and an escalation of the U.S. aggressive moves for a new war.
The United States is more frantically increasing the military spending and intensifying the arms buildup and war provocations under the deceptive pretext of "preventing terrorism" and "guaranteeing peace", bringing the situation to the brink of a war.
In the new century military expenditure is drastically increasing worldwide and new arms race being accelerated due to the U.S. imperialists' reckless war moves for aggression and their ambition for domination over the world.
The United States does not want peace at all, but only seeks to oppress other countries and dominate the world by force.
With nothing the U.S. imperialists can cover up their criminal nature as a chieftain of aggression and war and an enemy of peace.
The U.S. should stop at once such reckless moves of seriously threatening and destroying the world peace and stability and accelerating new arms race.

DPRK Demands Japan and U.S. Return Looted Cultural Relics

Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) --The Japanese reactionaries and the U.S. imperialists should apologize for their aggression and plunder in Korea and unconditionally return all the cultural relics they looted from it. A spokesman for the Bureau for Direction of Cultural Preservation of the DPRK demanded this in a statement issued Tuesday 90 years since the Japanese promulgation of "Regulations on preserving historic spots and relics" aimed to destroy and plunder cultural relics in Korea. After the promulgation of the above-said regulations on July 4, 1916 the Japanese imperialists set up such organizations as "Committee for surveying historic spots in Korea", "Museum of 'Government-General' in Korea" and "Society for Preserving Historic Spots" that specialized in plunder and indiscriminately destroyed or plundered valuable cultural treasures of Korea, the statement noted, and continued:
The Japanese imperialists' plunder and vandalism of cultural relics in Korea were intolerable barbarism and crimes against humanity as they were aimed to stamp out the Koreans' long history and their national identity and destroy human civilization.
The Japanese reactionaries have not yet admitted the hideous and shameless cultural plunder and vandalism but worked hard to justify them although 60 years have passed since the defeat of Japan. They have gone the lengths of working with blood-shot eyes to stage a comeback to Korea, inciting militarism, as evidenced by their desperate efforts to grab Tok Islet, part of the inviolable territory of Korea.
Such tragedy as vandalism of historic spots and looting of artifacts of Koreans by the U.S. imperialists is still going on in south Korea.
The Japanese and U.S. imperialists are looters and destroyers of the historic and cultural relics created by the Koreans and their sworn enemies as they inflicted unbearable misfortune and pain upon them.
All the Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should wage a vigorous struggle to get those cultural relics retrieved in the spirit of "By our nation itself."

Japan Urged to Return Cultural Relics It Looted from Korea

Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- The "regulations on preserving historic spots and relics" proclaimed by the Japanese imperialists on July 4, 1916 was a criminal state document Japan cooked up to destroy the culture of Korea and exterminate its nation. Minju Joson Tuesday says this in a signed commentary. It goes on: On the strength of these regulations the Japanese imperialists set up mechanisms that specialized in looting the cultural treasures and robbed Korea of countless material and intellectual properties of culture during their occupation of it. They vandalized what they could not take away to Japan. Through such plunder and destruction of cultural relics they sought a sinister and criminal purpose to make the resourceful Korean nation part of the Yamato nation and enslave the Koreans. Such being a stark fact, the Japanese reactionaries have not yet admitted such hideous plunder and vandalism of cultural relics but worked hard to justify them, although 60 years have passed since the defeat of Japan. Worse still, they are keen to stage a comeback to Korea.
The issue of cultural relics the Japanese imperialists looted from Korea still remains an unhealable wound in the minds of Koreans.
Such tragedy as looting and vandalism of cultural relics and artifacts by the U.S. imperialist aggressors is still going on in south Korea.
The U.S. imperialists and the Japanese reactionaries should apologize for looting and destroying cultural treasures of the Korean nation and unconditionally return all of them to it.

It was written by Jose Antonio Gamara Puertas, chairman of the association and president of the General Kim Jong Il Peruvian Amicable Institute. In a preface the pamphlet says:
One can say that the DPRK's policy on guaranteeing peace by armed forces was prompted by the historical, political and geographical factors of Korea.
The Songun policy pursued by Kim Jong Il is an original policy as it is the first of its kind in human history.
In order to study the Songun policy it is necessary to deeply study the history of development of the DPRK.
The DPRK's policy on guaranteeing peace by armed forces had already been enforced by President Kim Il Sung as a state policy and it has been consistently carried forward by Kim Jong Il as the Songun policy reflecting the desire of the popular masses, the history of Korea and its stirring reality today.

They went round the field under cultivation of wheat whose seeds were donated by them and gave a helping hand to the farmers busying themselves with immediate farming work.

Rodong Sinmun Calls for Intensified Anti-U.S. Struggle

Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- A review of the last 6 years since the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration reinforces the Korean people's will that their cherished desire for national reunification is attainable only through a struggle against the U.S. Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this in a signed article and goes on:
The 70 million Koreans are glorifying the era of June 15 reunification with the successes achieved in the three-point patriotic movement under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself" but the U.S. still remains persistent in its moves against reunification.
Citing facts to prove that the U.S. is stooping to any infamy to check the progress of the era of June 15 reunification, becoming evermore hostile towards the DPRK, the article notes:
The U.S. moves to provoke a war on the Korean Peninsula pose a grave threat to the era of June 15 reunification.
Paying lip-service to the peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula, the U.S. bellicose forces have stepped up the moves to provoke a war of aggression against the DPRK on the basis of the military doctrine calling for preemptive nuclear attack. Even after the publication of the June 15 joint declaration, the U.S. imperialists frantically staged provocative nuclear war exercises against the DPRK, steadily modifying and supplementing their war scenarios against the DPRK from "OPLAN 5027" to "CONPLAN", "OPLAN 5030", "New OPLAN 5026", "OPLAN 5027-04", "OPLAN 5029" and "OPLAN 8022-02." The DPRK-targeted nuclear war exercises staged with the mobilization of aggressor troops every year have further grown in their scale than those held in the period when the inter-Korean confrontation was acute. This fact alone clearly reveals the anti-Korean reunification nature of the U.S. imperialists. Precisely for this reason the peace on the Korean Peninsula has been exposed to a constant threat and a brake has been put on the inter-Korean dialogue and cooperation for the last six years.
All Koreans in the north, the south and overseas should more bravely turn out in the struggle for independence against the U.S., well aware that without the struggle against the U.S. imperialists, a main obstacle to the advance of the era of June 15 reunification, it is impossible to defend sovereignty and the right to existence nor is it possible to achieve national reunification.

Kim Il Sung's Revolutionary History Lauded

Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- It is the biggest pride of the Korean revolution that the revolutionary history of President Kim Il Sung has been given steady continuity from generation to generation to shed eternal rays, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a signed article. Noting that his revolutionary history serves as an eternal cornerstone of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean revolution, the article goes on:
The revolutionary history of the President is one of an outstanding thinker and theoretician who indicated the way to be followed by the WPK and the Korean revolution after fathering the immortal idea guiding the era of independence with his clairvoyant foresight and extraordinary wisdom. His history is also characterized by that of gifted strategist and that of an ever-victorious and iron-willed commander who defeated two formidable imperialisms in one generation and ushered in the new era of anti-imperialist struggle. The history is also one of the great architect of creation and construction as he turned the country, in which centuries-old backwardness and poverty had once prevailed, into a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence.
The President's revolutionary history is shedding bright rays as the eternal cornerstone of the WPK and the Korean revolution as they are led by Kim Jong Il.
He is a great leader who, with intense loyalty to the President's idea and cause, has glorified the history of the WPK and the Korean revolution as an eternal history of the President.
The history of the WPK and the Korean revolution has been given steady continuity as the revolutionary history of the President generation after generation as they are under the guidance of Kim Jong Il who has iron faith and will to advance and accomplish the Korean revolution the way the President did, drawing on the revolutionary exploits he had performed, no matter how much water may flow under the bridge.
Our socialist homeland will always prosper as Kim Il Sung's Korea, the eternal country of the President, thanks to Kim Jong Il who is making a long journey of Songun leadership to translate the President's plan and desire into reality, always thinking of him awake or asleep.
Only victory, glory and eternal prosperity will be in store for the WPK, the army and the people of the DPRK vigorously advancing with the President's great revolutionary history as an eternal boon under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il, the article concludes.

Shackling Japan-U.S. Alliance under Fire

Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) -- The relations between the U.S. and Japan are not the ties based on an equal alliance but the relationship between the master and his servant. Minju Joson today says this in a signed commentary.
Referring to the "luxurious life" of GI criminals in Japanese prisons, the commentary observes that Japan's ridiculous talk about the "Japan-U.S. alliance in the world framework" cannot be construed otherwise than a political cartoon.
What matters is Japan's deep rooted flunkeyism and dependence on the U.S. and its subservience to it, the commentary notes, and goes on:
It is the stance of Japan to meekly serve the U.S. and not to hurt its feelings. This stance caused Japan to suffer insult and shame in face of the U.S. more than once.
The world branded the Iraqi war started by the U.S. as a crime but only Japan sided with its American master in this matter.
The U.S. should have duly rewarded Japan for its "kind gesture" but the former was not concerned for it even in the least. Japan eagerly begged the U.S. for its support to the former's bid for permanent membership of the UN Security Council but it was snubbed by Washington.
This is the truth of the U.S.-Japan alliance.
Japan would be well advised to bear in mind that to toe the U.S. line and flunkeyism towards it would only lead it to self-destruction. It had better learn how to live in its right senses, though belatedly.

The contests, through which the athletes display their high standard of sports technique, will give an impetus to the development of the nation's sports.
The results of the weightlifting competition are optimistic.
Weightlifter Cha Kum Chol of the April 25 Sports Group renewed the Asian record in the snatch and Pak Un Hui and Pak Hyon Suk of the Aprokgang Sports Group, Ri Jun of the Pyongyang City Sports Group and several others broke local records or local juvenile records.
