Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) -- Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace to pay homage to President Kim Il Sung on Tuesday. Standing on both sides of his statue were the flag of the Workers' Party of Korea, the national flag of the DPRK and colors of the Korean People's Army and lining up were honor guards of the three services of the KPA.
A floral basket in the name of the king was laid before his statue amidst the solemn playing of the "Song of General Kim Il Sung"
Written on the ribbons of the floral basket were letters reading "Greatest Homage and Glory to the Great Leader H.E. Kim Il Sung!"
The king paid noble respects to his statue.
The king entered the hall where he lies in state and made a bow in humble reverence to him who devoted his all to the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people and made immortal contributions to the development of friendship between the DPRK and Cambodia.

The king made an entry in the visitor's book as follows:

Expressing humble reverence for H.E Generalissimo, I pray that he will always live in the hearts of the Korean people."

U.S. Moves against Cuba under Fire

Pyongyang, April 19 (KCNA) -- The Cuban people are adhering to the revolutionary principles and resolutely destroying the economic blockades of the imperialist reactionaries against Cuba, closely rallied around Fidel Castro in defiance of the anti-Cuban moves to which the U.S. imperialists are clinging persistently, failing to draw a proper lesson from their miserable defeat in the past, declares Minju Joson in a signed article today. It goes on:
The anti-U.S. armed struggle of the Cuban people known as the Playa Giron battle in history has clearly showed that no one on earth can be a match to a people tightly holding arms.
The Cuban people are smashing at every step the anti-Cuban and anti-socialist moves of the imperialist reactionaries in the staunch anti-imperialist and anti-U.S. spirit they displayed in routing the enemy in those days and reliably defending the motherland, revolution and socialism.
It must be noted that the Cuban government and people have paid deep attention to tightening political ties with the leftist powers that have made appearance one on the heel of the other in the Latin American region in recent years. By developing friendly and cooperative relations with such countries aspiring after socialism as Venezuela and Bolivia, they are forming an anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. front and striking a blow at the dominationist moves of the U.S. to reduce the Latin American region to its "quiet backyard".
The Cuban people are extending invariable support and solidarity to the struggle of the Korean people to reunify the country and build a great prosperous powerful nation, shattering at every step the maneuvers of the U.S. imperialists to launch a war of aggression, holding aloft the banner of socialism in the East. The Korean people are glad to be with the Cuban people in one and the same trench of the anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. struggle.
It is an unshakable stand of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government to go always hand in hand with the Cuban people in the fight against the common enemy. We believe that the Cuban people will surely emerge victorious in the anti-imperialist, anti-U.S. struggle.

Consolidated Single-minded Unity of Party, Army and People Called for

Pyongyang, April 19 (KCNA) -- The unity and cohesion of the party, the army and the people based on the Juche idea are the hardcore of the revolutionary traditions of the Workers' Party of Korea, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a signed article. Calling on all the party members and other working people to set store by the single-minded unity and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche started on Mt. Paektu, united close around the headquarters of the revolution, the article goes on: President Kim Il Sung built the revolutionary ranks with backbone elements trained and tested through struggle and rallied broad masses in the early period of his revolutionary activities when he was exploring the road of the Korean revolution under the banner of the Juche idea. He established the revolutionary traditions of Juche when leading the Korean revolution with the might of the unity based on the sense of revolutionary obligation and comradeship.
It was thanks to the might of the single-minded unity of the army and people based on the Juche idea around the President that the Korean army and people could achieve shining victories in the grim anti-Japanese revolutionary war, the building of a new country, the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War, the post-war rehabilitation and construction, socialist revolution and socialist construction. This unity also helped remarkably develop and enrich the revolutionary traditions of our party and firmly defend them.
All the servicepersons and people are now united as firm as a rock around leader Kim Jong Il on the basis of the Songun idea of the WPK the cornerstone of which is the Juche idea and this single-minded unity serves as a sure guarantee for firmly preserving and successfully carrying forward and developing the revolutionary traditions, the article concludes.

Then, they went round an indoor firing range, being briefed on the history of the university associated with the leadership exploits performed by the three generals of Mt. Paektu.
At the end of the visit, the Cuban ambassador wrote in the visitor's book that they would resolutely fight against the U.S. imperialist aggressors alongside the Korean people, always holding arms in their hands.

Enlarged Plenary Meeting of DPRK Cabinet Held

Pyongyang, April 19 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang-based papers today in articles dedicated to the 46th anniversary of the April 19 popular uprising call on the south Koreans to revive the soul and spirit of the April 19 uprisers and turn out in a sacred and patriotic struggle to drive the U.S. imperialists out of south Korea and realize reunification. The April 19 popular uprising was a mass anti-U.S., anti-fascist resistance of the south Koreans to overturn the colonial dictatorial system that was set up in south Korea by the U.S. imperialists and establish new politics and a new system and build a new life. Yun Song Sik, permanent member of the Consultative Council of Former South Korean Politicians in the North for the Promotion of Peace and Reunification, in an article contributed to Rodong Sinmun Wednesday wrote that the soul of the April 19 uprisers calls for overthrowing the traitorous Grand National Party in south Korea. He witnessed the uprising when he was a fourth-grade student of Konkuk University. He in the article noted that the independence, democracy and reunification so much desired by the uprisers have not yet come true. Even in this 21st century the U.S. imperialists are keeping their aggression troops in south Korea and instigating the pro-U.S. traitorous forces to block the independence and progress of the south Korean society and perpetrate rowdyism against reunification and the nation in a bid to realize their brigandish ambition to dominate the whole of Korea.
The adoption of the June 15 joint declaration paved a wide avenue for independent reunification on this land but the rash acts on the part of such group of traitors as the GNP are rendering the drive for the abolition of the "National Security Law", a draconic law against reunification, futile and blocking the advance of the people to realize the justice of the society.
The GNP group identical to its predecessors in its pro-U.S. flunkeyist mentality and unpopular nature is whetting its sword to restore fascist dictatorship in an effort to return to power.
This is, however, nothing but a foolish dream and a last-ditch effort of those who are marginalized by the strong trend of history.
Minju Joson in an article calls for realizing the desire, which the April 19 uprisers failed to achieve, through a patriotic movement for independent reunification, peace against war and the great national unity with main emphasis on the anti-U.S. struggle.

Flower Festival Reflecting Reverence for Great Man

Pyongyang, April 19 (KCNA) -- Many overseas Koreans and foreign friends as well as Korean people are displaying the Sun's flowers reflecting their profound reverence for President Kim Il Sung at the on-going 8th Kimilsungia Festival commemorating the Day of the Sun. Drawing the particular attention of the visitors is the stand of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) arranged in the middle of the first floor.
An image of President Kim Il Sung among Korean students in Japan visiting the homeland amid the Sun's flowers is placed in the center of the stand. More than 120 potted Kimilsungias prepared by Korean nationals in Japan are displayed on the stand decorated with ten odd species of precious plants.
There are many Kimilsungias exhibited by the delegation of the Society of the Korean Residents in China for Supporting the Propagation of Kimilsungia, the delegation of the Korean residents in the U.S. and overseas Koreans with warm reverence for the President.
Seen at the festival are Kimilsungias cultivated with care by diplomatic missions in the DPRK and friendship and solidarity organizations.
The Indonesian embassy in Pyongyang has set up a photograph of President Sukarno presenting Kimilsungia to President Kim Il Sung on a visit to Indonesia as a gift and a photograph of leader Kim Jong Il meeting former President Megawati Soekarnoputri on the stand decorated with over 20 potted Kimilsungias and rare tropical plants. On display there are ten potted Kimilsungias prepared with care by the embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Kimilsungias are also exhibited by the embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden, the embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the friendship society with the DPRK quartered on Spain and the "Kim Il Sung Kindergarten" in Mongolia. The several-hundred Kimilsungias exhibited by more than 100 units clearly show the ever deepening reverence of overseas Koreans and foreign friends for the President.

Mangyongdae and "10 Scenic Spots of Hwachon"

Pyongyang, April 19 (KCNA) -- The name of Mangyongdae in Pyongyang was derived from its beautiful kaleidoscopic views. Since olden times Mangyongdae and its surrounding areas have been called Hwachon and famous as one of the scenic spots in the country. The beautiful scenes viewed from Mangyong Hill have been called "10 Scenic Spots of Hwachon". The ten scenic views of Hwachon include landscape of Mangyongdae in spring, night view of three islets lit by the moon, fish-catching in Pongpho, cows grazing on U Hill, smoke curling up from chimneys in Kwangchon village, sailing boats in Sokho, green foliage of Mt. Yang, red cliff of Mt. Wonam, view of sowing seeds in Chugyo and view of sending guests off at the Tongrim Ferry.
Most beautiful among them is the landscape of Mangyongdae in spring resembling to a flower garden in which all kinds of flowers are in full bloom.
Introducing the ten scenic views of Hwachon, a historical document says: The Pyongyang area is noted for its scenic spots. The beautiful Hwachon can be said the acme of such spots. As for the scenery of Mangyongdae, it is no exaggeration to say that such a scenery can be seen nowhere in the country.
Meanwhile, many writers have reflected the beauty of Mangyongdae in their poems. Ri Si Hang, a talented local poet, who lived in Pyongyang in the 18th century, wrote in his poem "On Mangyong Hill" that he failed to find a verse to reflect in his poem beautiful Mangyongdae rising above jade green cloud.
The "10 Scenic Spots of Hwachon" centering around Mangyongdae is pride of the nation along with the eight scenic views of Pyongyang.
Mangyongdae, the native place of President Kim Il Sung, is the sacred land of the revolution dear to the hearts of the Korean people and the world progressives.

Japan's Ambition for Territorial Expansion Flailed

Pyongyang, April 19 (KCNA) -- If Japan persistently seeks territorial expansion, oblivious of the lesson drawn from its disgraceful past, it will be more strongly rebuffed and denounced by the Korean people and the people of the rest of the world and face its final self-destruction. A spokesman for the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea warned this in a statement issued on Wednesday as regards the evermore undisguised moves of the Japanese reactionaries to grab Tok Islet, an inalienable part of the territory of Korea.
Recalling that the Japanese authorities issued an instruction to describe Tok Islet as "part of the territory of Japan" in the middle school textbooks last year as a link in the chain of their moves to tamper with Japan's history of aggression only to be strongly protested by the Korean people and the international community, the statement said: Tok Islet called a "solitary islet on the East Sea of Korea" has belonged to Korea since the olden times. This is publicly recognized in the light of historical facts and from the international legal point of view.
Japan is a war criminal state and a defeated state as it invaded Asian countries while advocating the "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" in the past. Such being a stark fact, Japan is keen to realize its old dream, rushing headlong into militarism and moves to turn it into a military power under the patronage and backing of the United States.
Such ambition for militarist territorial expansion pursued by Japan taking advantage of the U.S. strategy to hold world supremacy is posing a serious threat to peace and security not only in the Korean Peninsula but in the rest of Northeast Asia. The Korean working class and the trade union members who hold the sovereignty of the country and the dignity of the nation dearest will never tolerate such moves of the Japanese reactionaries for territorial expansion as seeking to grab Tok Islet but resolutely shatter them with the forces bolstered up with the might of Songun.

He was greeted there by Kang Nung Su, chairman of the Korean Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Committee, Kim Jin Song, minister of Culture, Kim Yong Il, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and Choe Han Chun, DPRK ambassador to Cambodia. U.S. and Japanese Plot-Breeding Organizations' Anti-DPRK Operation under Fire

Pyongyang, April 19 (KCNA) -- The people's security institution in the DPRK tasked to protect by law the socialist system, the life and soul of its people, tightly holding the arms for state security, is following with a high degree of vigilance all sorts of dastardly plots and operations of the enemy's intelligence and plot-breeding bodies against the DPRK. It will regard any involvement in them in any form as an infringement upon the sovereignty and security of the DPRK and force their perpetrators to pay a high price for their crimes. A spokesman for the DPRK Ministry of People's Security declared this in a statement issued Wednesday in connection with the fact that forces hostile to the DPRK including those in the U.S. and Japan are working hard to fabricate what they call "evidence" and "proofs" by employing every conceivable means and despicable method to brand the DPRK as a "criminal state" and "lawless state" over "human rights abuse", "drug smuggling" and "counterfeit notes."
The statement said: The CIA and plot-breeding organizations in Japan are working with blood-shot eyes to produce animation files aimed at attacking the DPRK after setting up organizations specializing in gathering photos and animation files related to the "human rights situation" and "drug and counterfeit notes" in the DPRK. They are now spending a colossal amount of fund for this operation.
In order to make the source of those information sound plausible, they are mass-producing video tapes and CDs for the above-said purpose even by use of animation processing technology on "makeshift stages" they have set up in the U.S. forces' bases in a third country and in south Korea. They are even manipulating the sale of such things behind the scene to mass media in the U.S., Japan and south Korea. Those media of the U.S. and Japan are reprocessing the animation files and photos obtained in a more sophisticated manner before airing and distributing them. The GNP and other right-wing conservative forces in south Korea, as if they had waited for the opportunity to come, are becoming zealous in using this information for deterring the inter-Korean relations from improving and realizing their ambition to return to power.
We have obtained the following shocking information: The CIA secretly enlist experts on counterfeiting notes claimed to be the "most sophisticated in the world" and invite them to issue lots of fake currencies at "counterfeit notes printing houses of north Korean-style" operating in U.S. military bases in different parts of the world. Then they let these notes find their ways to the DPRK and go out of it in the course of commercial transaction in a desperate bid to term it "producer of counterfeit notes." Such illegal practices on the part of the U.S. and the Japanese plot-breeding organizations are absolutely intolerable as they are shameless acts of defying elementary international law and a wanton violation of the sovereignty of the DPRK. The DPRK, too, has the right to strongly react to this vicious false propaganda launched by the hostile forces against it, according to its relevant law.
