Pamphlet "Songun and DPRK's Dignity" Off Press in Italy

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The Group of Dialectical Materialists of Italy issued a pamphlet "Songun and DPRK's Dignity" on Dec. 8 on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of office as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has made new progress thanks to the peculiar Songun political mode of Chairman of its National Defence Commission Kim Jong Il, the pamphlet said, and went on: The Songun politics of Korea helps not only protect the dignity and sovereignty of the country but enhance its international authority and dignity. The Songun politics has placed the national power of the country on the highest level with main emphasis on its military capability, considering military affairs as the most important state affairs.
The might of the Songun politics has shattered the U.S. moves to isolate and blockade the DPRK.
The DPRK building a great prosperous powerful nation while winning victory after victory in the confrontation with U.S. imperialism under the banner of Songun has become a beacon of hope for the world people in their struggle for justice, peace, independence and prosperity.
The Songun politics serves as the most just and powerful political mode for frustrating the moves of the imperialists for aggression and achieving the independence and sovereignty of the country and building a rich, powerful and prosperous nation.
The DPRK will in the future, too, demonstrate its dignity thanks to the Songun politics.

U.S. Human Rights Abuses under Fire

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The Anti-U.S. Women's Society of south Korea reportedly issued a statement on Dec. 7 to denounce a "rally on human rights issue in the north" The statement said that the rally held by the United States and conservative forces for the purpose of laying an obstacle in the way of the six-party talks and antagonizing the north was nothing but false propaganda based on lies and fabrications.
The U.S., the worst human rights abuser and most brutal aggressor in the world, is not entitled to talk about human rights, it noted, and went on: We can never pardon any action disturbing peace and reunification on this land. We will unite in the spirit of "By our nation itself" and usher in an era of independent reunification.
The U.S. and conservative forces, stop at once all actions against human rights and reunification.
Meanwhile, students under the Seoul District Federation of University Student Councils condemned the opening of the rally in front of Sungshin Women's University on Dec. 10.
They said that the "human rights issue in the north" is no more than a "pretext invented by the U.S. to bring down the north." They strongly demanded a stop to the "rally" aimed at stoking the discord between the south and the north.

U.S. Ambassador's Repeated Malarkey under Fire

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The Korean people will resolutely cope with the repeated malarkey of the U.S. ambassador in Seoul slandering the system which they chose by themselves, established by their own efforts and value like their lives, considering them to be a declaration of war against the DPRK and the whole nation. A spokesman for the Korean Democratic Lawyers Association said this in a statement issued on Dec. 14 in denunciation of the U.S. ambassador's malignant outcries that there is no change in his thought that the north is a criminal state and that cooperation should be coordinated, while openly interfering in inter-Korean relations and taking issue with "military threat" from someone.
The Korean Democratic Lawyers Association vehemently denounces the remarks of the U.S. ambassador as a flagrant infringement on the dignity and sovereignty of the Korean nation and a crime of driving the situation of the Korean Peninsula to the worst phase of confrontation, the statement said, and went on:
The United States has long resorted to the brazen-faced false propaganda slandering and defiling other countries and nations before aggression and interference.
The current remarks of the U.S. ambassador are nothing but to pursue the policy for stifling the DPRK and obtain justification for a war of aggression on the DPRK.

KCNA Blasts U.S. Fiction of "Counterfeit Notes"

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The United States is now going very busy with its moves to make its much publicized story about "counterfeit notes" of the DPRK sound plausible. The U.S. conservative hardliners are now pressurizing officials of a number of regional governments including Macao and Hong Kong and bank officials there to control "counterfeit notes" from the DPRK, blustering that the U.S. would not allow north Korea to go on issuing "counterfeit notes" as its state policy and it would take necessary steps to protect itself and the international financial system till north Korea has discontinued its criminal financial activities.
It was against this background the Los Angeles Times on Dec. 12 reported that the DPRK government is involved in the issue of "counterfeit notes" allegedly on the basis of a testimony made by a "deserter from north Korea".
We do not feel any need to rebuff this misinformation because this is a continuation of the U.S. smear campaign over the issue of "counterfeit notes" and its replica. If there be something different from its earlier propaganda, this time they cited what it called testimony allegedly made by the deserter in an effort to make it sound plausible.
Explicitly speaking, there are no "deserters from north Korea" claimed by the U.S. If there be any, they are only illegal border crossers or human scum who fled after committing crimes against the country and the people.
Not content with mud-slinging at the DPRK, the U.S. is peddling even what unidentified deserters allegedly uttered. This goes to prove that the U.S. oft-repeated fiction of "counterfeit notes" is a sheer lie.
It is deplorable for the U.S. to be left with no option but to depend on such human scum as "deserters from north Korea" and riffraff to intensify its anti-DPRK smear campaign.
On Dec. 13, the following day, the south Korean KBS quoted a high-ranking official concerned of the "government" as saying it was confirmed that a "north Korean" whom the Los Angeles Times had cited never served at a mint organ when residing in north Korea. The U.S.-spread misinformation has become again the laughing stock of the public.
This goes to clearly prove that the Bush administration is made up of master hands at lies and fabrications.
The DPRK has never issued counterfeit notes nor had ever been engaged in any illegal dealings.
Such illegal activities are unimaginable in the DPRK in the light of its nature and mission.
The desperate efforts made by the U.S. to label the DPRK a "rogue state" and a "criminal state" on the basis of information lacking credibility are an intolerable insult to the inviolable and dignified DPRK.
These moves are nothing but a foolish artifice to get rid of the miserable position into which the U.S. has been driven due to the countless misdeeds perpetrated by it at home and abroad.
The U.S. is now repudiated and condemned internally and externally for having massacred innocent civilians of a sovereign state by using even ghastly weapons called white phosphorus, depleted uranium bombs and other types of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) after occupying it by force in broad daylight to incite terrorism and operating secret prisons in different parts of the world and committing monstrous crimes, the first of their kinds since the days of the Hitler fascist junta.
As far as the U.S. policy towards the DPRK is concerned, Washington completely pulled out of the DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework and is overturning the basic principles of the joint statement adopted at the six-party talks one by one. This has touched off strong criticism and derision among the world public. AP, AFP and other Western media commented that with the support rating for Bush dropping because it is rebuffed not only at home and abroad but by Republicans, he has opted for pursuing a hard-line policy towards north Korea as part of his stopgap measures to put the situation under control. It is a trite method of the U.S. to find a way out of its crisis at home and abroad in launching aggression and war against small and weak countries. Hence, the U.S. is escalating its psychological warfare intended to label the DPRK a "rogue state."
Part of this warfare is the financial sanctions it is applying against the DPRK in a bid to pressurize it to abandon its nuclear program first. The U.S. is, however, sadly mistaken.
The DPRK is not such a country that would yield to the U.S. hard-line policy.
No matter how often American political imbeciles may orchestrate farces of every form at their back parlor, it will only reveal the moral vulgarity of the Bush group and further deteriorate the stand-off over the nuclear issue.
The only way for the Bush group to get rid of its present deplorable position is to lift its financial sanctions against the DPRK and sincerely work to find a solution to the problem at the six-party talks.

17th North-South Ministerial Talks Open

Jeju Island, December 14 (KCNA) -- The 17th north-south ministerial talks opened on Jeju Island Wednesday. Present there from the north side were its delegation headed by Kwon Ho Ung, chief councilor of the Cabinet, and its suite members and from the south side its delegation headed by Jong Tong Yong, minister of Unification, and its suite members.
The heads of the north and the south delegations made speeches at the talks.
Kwon Ho Ung said that the 17th ministerial talks should offer an opportunity of reviewing the inter-Korean relations this year and planning on this basis new and significant jobs to be done in the new year. Then he referred to the successes achieved in developing the north-south relations this year. There were deplorable developments that brought disappointment and apprehension to the whole nation, he noted, adding that both sides should draw a serious lesson from them. He advanced the north side's proposal on a series of issues to be solved by the concerted efforts of the north and the south next year.
First, the north and the south should take decisive measures to pull down the last barriers related to the confrontation of social systems between them in the political field.
Second, from the new year both sides should stop all the joint military exercises with outside forces to defuse the military tension and achieve durable peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Third, from the new year both sides should develop the inter-Korean economic cooperation as independent cooperation between compatriots on the principle of separating business from politics free from the nuclear issue and foreign interference.
Fourth, both sides will hold talks between Red Cross societies on the occasion of the lunar New Year and arrange reunions and video meetings between the separated families and relatives to alleviate their pain and bring pleasure and hope to them.
Jong Tong Yong said that the new history of the Korean nation began with the historic inter-Korean summit and the publication of the June 15 joint declaration, adding that the joint declaration replaced the inter-Korean relations of antipathy and conflict between compatriots which lasted for more than half a century by those of reconciliation and cooperation.
Recalling the fact that he visited Pyongyang and was received by leader Kim Jong Il in June, he noted that people and the authorities of the south and the north jointly celebrated the 5th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 joint declaration and the 60th anniversary of August 15 liberation of Korea for the first time in the history of Korea's division.
Then he put forward the south side's proposal related to the current talks. The talks continue.

GNP's Treacherous Crime under Fire

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea in a statement on Dec. 14 urged the Grand National Party of south Korea to drop its foolish dream to come to power again with smear operations, disguise and deception, apologize to the victims, the south Koreans and all other Koreans for the crimes against the nation, democracy and human rights committed by its predecessors down through history just as demanded by the people and go on a stern trial of history. The recent clarification of the case of "the People's Revolutionary Party" and the case of "the National Democratic Youths and Students League" in south Korea as fabrication by Park Chung-Hee regime against the DPRK has touched off towering hatred and grudge of the agricultural workers in the north against the last fascist military dictatorial regimes and the GNP, their descendant, the statement said, and went on:
Due to anti-DPRK plots hatched by the successive fascist military dictatorial regimes in south Korea many people were put behind bars to be tortured and killed. Among them were naive patriotic farmers, their parents, brothers and sisters and children.
Explicitly speaking, they rose up in the struggle as the countryside had been devastated and they were unable to make a living owing to the flunkeyist and treacherous clique's anti-national policy.
It was because of the fabricated "pro-communist" cases that they were sentenced to capital punishment on charges of "group of operatives" and "group of spies."

Thorough Probe into All Anti-North False Cases Demanded

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- It was recently disclosed to the full that the "case of the People's Revolutionary Party" and the "case of the National Democratic Youths and Students League" were cooked up by the Park Chung-Hee regime through torture, according to the report on the investigation conducted by the "Committee to Probe the Truth of Past History" of the "Intelligence Service" of south Korea into those cases. In this regard Minju Joson Thursday observes in a signed commentary: This is an important success achieved by the south Korean people in their struggle to probe the truth of the past history.
The above-said cases are just part of the anti-communist cases cooked up by the successive fascist dictators.
They faked up various shocking cases one after another in a bid to prolong their remaining days whenever their rule faced a serious crisis. They brought charges of involvement in those cases against the patriotic youths and students and other people who turned out in the just struggle for independence, democracy and reunification and unreasonably linked them to the north before arresting, imprisoning and killing them. They thus deliberately bedeviled the north-south relations.
It is, therefore, necessary to thoroughly probe all the anti-communist cases forged by those fascist dictators in order to improve the inter-Korean relations and bring earlier the day of national reunification.
The shortest cut to probing the truth behind all anti-communist cases is to force the clans of the Grand National Party of south Korea to confess to their crimes themselves. All of those cases were cooked up by predecessors of the GNP without exception.
However, the GNP, a group of killers and their descendants who faked up a lot of cases against the north, while staying in power in the past, does not make any apology for its crimes before the nation even now when the truth about the above-said cases has been probed.
The truth of history can never be kept into oblivion.
The GNP clans should apologize to the nation for having faked up anti-communist cases to kill people, bedevil the inter-Korean relations and bar national reunification and quit the political arena, before it is too late to do so.

Executive Director of WFP and His Party Leave Here

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- James T. Morris, executive director of the World Food Programme (WFP), and his party left here today. They were seen off at the airport by Choe Su Hon, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs.

Historic Meeting in Realizing Songun Ideology

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The validity of Songun idea, the mighty treasure-sword for accomplishing the socialist cause has been proved in the revolutionary practice. President Kim Il Sung, founder of the Songun idea and outstanding leader of the Songun revolution, carried his Songun ideology into practice at the Mingyuegou Meeting held in December 16, Juche 20 (1931).
He, in his early years of revolutionary activities, found out an idea that people who aspire after independence and justice should take arms, and set forth the line of the anti-Japanese armed struggle at the Kalun Meeting.
He called the Mingyuegou Meeting when the Japanese imperialists further intensified the brutal repression of the Korean people after the September 18 incident. At the meeting the President put forward a slogan "Oppose armed force with armed force and counterrevolutionary violence with revolutionary violence!" and made public the theory on people's guerrilla warfare.
The theory that the people are precisely the state, rear and regular army was ascribable to the Songun idea of the President that the entire people should frustrate the counterrevolutionary violence with arms in their hands so as to retake the sovereignty of the nation and defend it forever in reliance upon arms.
Since then the Korean revolution has covered the only way of victory under the banner of Songun.
The President founded the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army, the first revolutionary armed force in Korea, on April 25, 1932 and defeated the Japanese imperialists to achieve national liberation on August 15, 1945.
After the liberation he gave priority to the military affairs, too. And he defended the freedom and the sovereignty of the country with credit in the Fatherland Liberation War (June 1950-July 1953) against the U.S. imperialists and built the DPRK as a powerful socialist nation independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence.
The DPRK successfully withstood the unprecedented "Arduous March" and the forced march in the past by dint of the Songun.
The world community closely watched the political situation of the DPRK with deep apprehensions after the demise of the President. Then Kim Jong Il inspected a company of the Korean People's Army on a hill covered with young pine trees on January 1, 1995.
For ten years since then, he has inspected one unit of the KPA after another. He, with the army as the pillar of the revolution, has led the socialist cause to victory as a whole, turning misfortune into blessing, adversity into favorable conditions.
Bright future is in store for the Korean people who are advancing forward under the banner of Songun.

Art Works Registered as National Treasure in DPRK

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- More than 90 art works were registered on the list of national treasure in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. They were selected out of the art works exhibited at art shows including the national art shows celebrating the 60th anniversaries of the Workers' Party of Korea and national liberation and the poster exhibition calling on the people to implement the tasks set forth in the New Year's joint editorial, which were held in 2005.
There are more than 20 works depicting the images of the three generals of Mt. Paektu, President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk. Typical of them are Korean paintings "Great Commander of Mt. Paektu", "Jubilation of October", "Bell-sound on road to front" and "Victory in the battle of Dongning County Town".
The other 60-odd works are also high in the level of formative artistic skill and rich in emotion. Among them are oil-paintings "Underground political worker Comrade O Jung Hwa active in homeland" portraying a person whom President Kim Il Sung recollected in his reminiscence "With the Century" and "Victory", Korean paintings "Son's picture" and "Waterfalls", sculpture "Martyr An Jung Gun", woodblock print "Pasture in morning", ceramic workmanship "Vase decorated with magnolia flowers and ducks", Korean jewel picture "Pothong Gate in autumn" and acryl-picture "Blue sky". The registered works include calligraphies "Korea is one" and "By our nation itself" by unconverted long-term prisoners.
The works created in the Songun era enrich the treasure-house of Juche fine art as socialist cultural wealth with high standard of ideological content and formative artistry.

Greetings to King of Bahrain

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, on Dec. 15 sent a message of greetings to Sheikh Hamad Bin Isa al-Khalifa, king of Bahrain, on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of its national day. The message expressed the conviction that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would grow stronger and sincerely wished the friendly people of Bahrain steady progress and prosperity.

Wreath Laid before Bust of Kim Jong Suk

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Women of foreign embassies and missions of international organizations here laid a wreath before the bust of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk at the Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery on Mt. Taesong on Dec. 15 on the occasion of her 88th birth anniversary. They laid the wreath and observed a moment's silence with unbound reverence for Kim Jong Suk, woman general of Mt. Paektu, who set a noble example in devotedly safeguarding the leader and devoted her all to the liberation of the country and the happiness of the people true to the leadership of President Kim Il Sung.
Letters reading "The revolutionary exploits of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk will be immortal!" were seen on the ribbon of the wreath.

Moves of GNP of S. Korea to Revive Fascist Regime Denounced

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- It was recently brought to light in south Korea that the "case of the People's Revolutionary Party" and the "case of the National Democratic Youths and Students League," typical cases fabricated against the north in the period of the Park Chung-Hee regime, were cooked up by the "Yusin" regime. In this regard, a spokesperson for the Central Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in a statement Thursday denounced the Grand National Party of south Korea for working hard to fake up more "pro-communist cases" in a bid to revive the fascist regime.
    The statement said:
Whenever their colonial rule faced a crisis, the successive fascist dictatorial regimes of south Korea cooked up shocking cases against the north under the patronage of the U.S. to savagely suppress the struggle of the people and youth and students for independence and democracy. They did not hesitate to commit such thrice-cursed bestial atrocities as indiscriminately arresting and detaining even women, perpetrating unbearable sexual abuses against them and bringing disgrace to them.
It is quite natural that in the wake of the announcement of the results of the investigation into the above-said cases the victims of the cases and their bereaved families are unanimously expressing their grudge and resentment at the criminals and demanding their reinstatement and the restoration of their honor and urging the GNP, the descendant of the "Yusin" regime, to apologize for the crimes.
As long as the GNP keen to revive the fascist dictatorship is allowed to exist, neither a happy dream nor bright morrow is thinkable. The people from all walks of life including women in south Korea should wage a more dynamic struggle to force the GNP to settle its crimes and disband itself and thus throw it into the dumping ground of the history at any cost.

Kim Jong Il Gives Field Guidance to Newly Built Shops at Ryongsong Foodstuff Factory

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, gave field guidance to the newly built shops at the Ryongsong Foodstuff Factory. Two new shops producing beer and processed milk built at the factory have started production under the warm loving care of Kim Jong Il. After hearing an explanation in front of a huge painting showing the panoramic view of the shops, he went round their production processes to acquaint himself in detail with their construction and production.
After making the rounds of the structures built in the best quality and the production processes equipped with the latest facilities, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the builders have successfully constructed the modern foodstuff production base with total dedication to the people. Seeing a variety of production coming out in an endless stream, he was pleased with the fact that it has become possible to supply more quality foodstuffs to the people. He set forth tasks to be fulfilled to manage and operate the shops, saying that as the modern foodstuff shops have been built, it is necessary to keep the production going at a high rate.
If the production is to be put on normal footing as the newly built shops have a great capacity, it is important above all to provide sufficient raw materials to them, he added.
It is imperative to pay primary attention to the control of equipment and technical management as the shops are furnished with ultra-modern equipment, he said, stressing that to this end, big efforts should be directed to the work to raise the level of the technical skill of the producers and, at the same time, research into this field should be intensified and advanced technology be actively introduced to it.
He noted that in order to ensure the hygienic security of foodstuffs, it is necessary to widely introduce the processing method based on uptodate technology and keep the interior and the exterior of the factory neat and tidy to sterilize the production site.
Packing and trademark are very important in the foodstuff production, too, he said, underlining the need to improve the quality of packing and, at the same time, design trademarks well to suit the characteristics of consumers.
He also underlined the need for the factory to properly work out a management strategy, a business strategy on the principle of profitability and effectively realize the modernization and scientification of the production processes on a phased basis and thus systematically lower the norm of raw materials consumption per unit of goods to supply greater quantities of quality cheap foodstuffs to the people.
He was accompanied by Kim Kuk Thae and Kim Ki Nam, secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK, Ri Jae Il, first vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, and Generals of the Korean People's Army Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong.
