DPRK Sends Back Japanese Woman

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- As already reported, Kazumi Kitagawa, a Japanese woman, illegally entered Sinuiju area of the DPRK after throwing herself into the River Amnok from a sighting boat during her tour of Dandong, China, and asked it to accept her request to seek refuge on Aug. 24, 2003. The results of the investigation made by the organ concerned said: Born in Usuki City, Oita Prefecture of Japan, she had been living in Naniwa Ward, Osaka City of Osaka Prefecture. She was forced by investigators of the Kyoto Public Security Investigation Department of the Japanese Public Security Investigation Agency to spy on the Aum Shinrikyo and the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) from the spring of 2000. She was even mentally distressed due to sexual abuses by them. This prompted her to decide to come to the DPRK to evade the repeated persecution by the public security organ.
The DPRK side enabled her to live a stable life in an international hotel despite her illegal entry into the DPRK. While staying in the DPRK, she felt that she could no longer cause trouble to it and gave up her intention to seek refuge and expressed her wish to go back to Japan. From a humanitarian point of view, the DPRK took a measure of sending her back to Japan on Nov. 3.
Before her departure for home, she deeply reflected on her illegal intrusion into the DPRK border and apologized for it and thanked its government for warm treatment and lenient measure.

U.S. Urged to Honor Its Commitments

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- A fair solution to the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula and the prospect of the forthcoming 5th round of the six-party talks hinge upon the U.S. approach towards its commitments stipulated in the joint statement of the fourth six-way talks which calls for putting an end to the nuclear threat and providing light water reactors (LWRs), etc. The chief of the DPRK mission at the UN clarified this in the letters sent to the UN secretary general and the president of the UN General Assembly on Oct. 28 in connection with the unreasonable assertions made by the delegates of the U.S. and Britain over the nuclear issue on the peninsula at the meeting of the first committee of the 60th UN General Assembly.
He charged that the U.S. and British delegates addressing the meeting of the first committee insisted that the DPRK unconditionally abandon its nuclear weapons program as required by the Beijing Joint Statement in a bid to mislead the public opinion by claiming that the joint statement only commits the DPRK side to scrap its nuclear weapons program.
    He said:
The joint statement clearly lays down the commitments of the U.S. and south Korea directly responsible for the denuclearization of the peninsula and the principle of simultaneous action for it along with the DPRK's commitment to it.
The U.S., however, is only insisting on the CVID defying the principle of simultaneous action agreed upon by the six parties, and busy staging a smear campaign against the DPRK, pulling it up over the "human rights issue" and "illegal deals" and other baseless issues.
This behavior diametrically runs counter to the spirit of the joint statement, a joint product of the six parties, and makes the DPRK to doubt whether the U.S. is willing to implement the joint statement or not.
The DPRK remains consistent and unchanged in its stand to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula. The DPRK's unilateral abandonment of its nuclear program alone will not lead to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
The DPRK will closely watch how the U.S. will behave at the phase of "action for action".

South Koreans Vow to Struggle against Expansion of U.S. Military Base

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Members of the All-People Measure Committee for Checking the Expansion of the U.S. Military Base in Phyongthaek of south Korea reportedly held a meeting to vow to struggle against the expansion of the U.S. military base at the plaza of Phyongthaek railway station on Oct. 29. Present there were inhabitants and workers of Phyongthaek and Ansong areas and members of civic and social organizations. An appeal read out at the meeting said that the members of the committee, together with inhabitants would enter into an indefinite sit-in strike to check the U.S. forces' moves for expanding their base for a war of aggression to the last and bring peaceful future to the Korean Peninsula. It called upon the population in Phyongthaek area to actively join in the strike.
At the end of the meeting permanent co-representatives of the committee pitched tents to go on the indefinite sit-in strike. The strikers staged a candlelight demonstration that evening.

Anniversary of Kim Il Sung's Work Marked

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- A national meeting to mark the 60th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's famous work "On Establishing a University" took place at the People's Palace of Culture on Nov. 2. Talking to educational workers at a meeting with them on Nov. 3, Juche 34 (1945) Kim Il Sung clarified the orientation of training native cadres, saying that it is necessary to establish a university first along with primary and secondary schools in order to train cadres needed for building a new country as early as possible.
Addressing the meeting Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, said: The policy of establishing a university and building more universities with it as a matrix is a scientific policy for building the base for training native cadres as it makes it possible to train cadres in different fields at the same time to suit the actual conditions of the country. The policy has become a unique Korean-style policy of establishing a university.
The establishment of Kim Il Sung University on Oct. 1, Juche 35 (1946) provided a dependable base for training native cadres of the worker-peasant origin through its own efforts and opened up a bright prospect of expanding the base for training native cadres with it as a matrix. Referring to the exploits performed by Kim Il Sung for developing the university, he noted that the university has entered a new high stage of its development thanks to the wise guidance of leader Kim Jong Il who has successfully carried forward Kim Il Sung's Juche-based idea on education and his immortal leadership exploits.
Kim Jong Il wisely led the work of the university with his extraordinary wisdom, outstanding leadership ability, enthusiastic pursuits and energetic ideological and theoretical activities and converted the university into a genuine university of the party, the leader and the people both in name and reality as it has trained core cadres for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche as intended by Kim Il Sung. In this course Kim Jong Il has performed undying feats before the times and the history.
The reporter underscored the need for all the educational workers to give full play to the vitality of the famous work and effect a revolutionary turn in the university education as required by the Songun era.
The meeting was attended by Yang Hyong Sop, Kim Ki Nam and Ri Kwang Ho, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Yong Jin, minister of Education, and Pyon Yong Rip, president of the Academy of Sciences.

60th Anniversary of KSDP Marked

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held Wednesday to commemorate the 60th founding anniversary of the Korean Social Democratic Party (KSDP). Present at the meeting were members of the Political Committee and members of the Central Committee of the KSDP, delegates of the provincial, city and county committees of the KSDP, office bearers and active members of the party in Pyongyang.
Present on invitation were Kim Jung Rin, secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee, Ryu Mi Yong, chairperson of the Korean Chondoist Chongu Party Central Committee, and Ryo Won Gu, presidium member of the C. C., the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland. Kim Yong Dae, chairman of the C. C., the KSDP, in his report said that since its foundation the KSDP as a friendly party of the WPK has waged a strenuous struggle for the country's prosperity and welfare of all generations to come including its efforts made to establish the people's power based on the united front of all political parties, carry out democratic reforms, achieve victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and carry out the postwar rehabilitation and construction and socialist construction. The KSDP has also conducted positive activities to achieve independent and peaceful reunification of the country through the great unity of the nation, he said, and went on:
The KSDP has energetically conducted external activities and established friendly and cooperative ties with foreign democratic political parties to create a favorable international environment for defending the country's sovereignty and achieving independent and peaceful reunification, thereby contributing to raising the voices of support and solidarity for the DPRK.
The KSDP has victoriously covered its 60 year-long path. This would be unthinkable without the noble benevolent politics and unbounded magnanimity of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il who reposed trust and showed deep care for the political parties and organizations which value independence and patriotism irrespective of their ideology and political views.
The KSDP should in the future, too, creditably discharge its noble mission and duty before the country and the people with ardent patriotism in order to push forward the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation and achieving solidarity and alliance with political parties and organizations in south Korea through the three forms of cooperation for national independence, peace against war and for reunification and patriotism under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself", the main spirit of the June 15 joint declaration, he concluded.

Rodong Sinmun Slams Japan's Projected Distribution of Provocative War Games

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- As already reported, it was disclosed recently that the Japanese reactionaries are contemplating the production and distribution of the extremely bellicose and provocative war games to the effect that the Japan Self-Defence Forces (SDF) are fighting a war of aggression against the DPRK and other neighboring countries, occupying Tok Islet and Jeju Island, "attacking" the nuclear facilities of the DPRK and "wiping out" the Chinese armed forces. This is arousing serious concern and vigilance among the public at home and abroad. Rodong Sinmun Thursday observes in a signed commentary carried in this regard: This is a clear proof that the Japanese reactionaries' moves for overseas aggression have reached an extremely reckless phase. This, at the same time, brings to light their reckless design for reinvasion aimed at realizing their wild ambition to dominate the DPRK and other Asian countries, availing themselves of the U.S. imperialists' war moves against the DPRK. Their moves to stage a comeback to Korea under the pretext of taking a swift and efficient countermeasure to cope with "the contingency in the areas surrounding Japan" with main emphasis on "the emergency on the Korean Peninsula" have assumed unprecedentedly undisguised and substantial nature, going beyond the tolerance limit.
Their ulterior motive is to preempt an armed attack on the DPRK and, furthermore, fight a war of aggression against its other neighboring countries. Japan's claim to Tok Islet can be interpreted as part of their war scenario.
The above-said war games under the simulated conditions of attacks on the DPRK are a grave provocation to the Koreans and other Asians and a danger signal hinting at reinvasion against the DPRK and other neighbors.
Should the Japanese reactionaries launch a war of aggression against the DPRK and other neighbors at any cost, they will meet only self-destruction, the commentary warns.

Book on Kim Il Sung off Press in Syria

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- A book "Great man of the century" was published by the Dar Dimashk Publishing House in Syria on the occasion of the 60th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea. The book carries a photograph of President Kim Il Sung and edits six articles written by those foreign figures who had the honor of being received by the President in which they expressed profound reverence for him.
Present on invitation at the book releasing ceremony held on Oct. 27 were Adib Tumbakzi, manager of the publishing house, men of the press and the ambassador of the DPRK and staff members of its embassy in Damascus.
The manager said those who were received by Kim Il Sung gave true accounts of his personality as a great man in the book, adding that he was the publicly recognized great leader who attained the highest level in politics, military affair, economy and culture as well as in personality without a parallel in the world.

S. Korean Authorities' Servility to U.S. under Fire

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification in south Korea reportedly issued a commentary on Oct. 29 in denunciation of the undisguised servility of the government authority to the U.S. The commentary said that on Oct. 28 a relevant official of the government, talking about the conditions and the period of the "transfer of the right to control wartime operations" from the U.S. forces in south Korea, declared that the completion of the transfer from 2010 to 2014 is being examined on the precondition for increasing combat capability.
This is contrary to the demand of the people for abrogation of the subordinate south Korea-U.S. alliance, the commentary said, charging that it is servility to the U.S., allowing its attempt to keep the right to operational control over the south Korean army in a changed form.
The precondition for increasing combat capability touted by the government official is aimed to justify the "plan for reforming national defence" and increase the capability of joint operations with the U.S. forces, the commentary noted.
He said that a proposal for excluding the issue of the presence of the U.S. forces from the objects of discussing a peace agreement afraid of innervating the U.S. is under examination. His remarks are to justify the permanent presence of the U.S. forces in south Korea, the root cause of war threat to the north, and categorically negate the fundamental meaning of the conclusion of a peace agreement, the commentary pointed out, urging immediate withdrawal of his remarks.
The commentary demanded the government authorities make positive efforts to dissolve the south Korea-U.S. "combined forces command", totally repeal the operation plan against the north and dismantle the "UN forces command".

EU Moves for "Resolution on Human Rights of North" Assailed in S. Korea

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The Reunification Solidarity in south Korea reportedly issued a statement on Oct. 28 and urged the EU to immediately halt its moves to bring a "resolution on human rights of the north" before the UN General Assembly. Referring to the fact that the EU officially announced on Oct. 26 that it would bring the resolution before the UN General Assembly, the statement branded the resolution as a vicious political vituperation document devoid of objectivity, international impartiality and truth, taking advantage of the U.S. "human rights offensive" against the north.
It is an intolerable criminal hostile act that the U.S. and its followers are trying to reverse the process of the six-party talks far from striving to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula and building lasting peace mechanism with the talks at hand, it said.

Vice-Premier Ro Tu Chol Meets Swedish Ambassador

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Ro Tu Chol, vice-premier of the DPRK Cabinet, met and conversed with new Swedish Ambassador to the DPRK Mats Foyer who paid a courtesy call on him at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Thursday.

Paek Nam Sun Meets Polish Ambassador to DPRK

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun met and had a talk with new Polish Ambassador to the DPRK Roman Iwaszkiewicz who paid a courtesy call on him today.

GNP-Touted "North's Request for Designs of Sub and Aegis" Refuted

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Ri Pang Ho, National Assemblyman from the Grand National Party, speaking at "National Assembly interpellation" on Oct. 25 told the nonsense that the north side declared its total stop to the work with Hyundai Asan because the Hyundai side turned down the former's request for the transfer of designs for a submarine and Aegis warship." A spokesman for the Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee answering a question raised by KCNA in this regard on Nov. 2 said: Explicitly speaking, what Ri uttered is a whopping lie which does not deserve even a passing note as such a thing can never happen nor has ever taken place. Hyundai Group, too, dismissed the remarks as groundless and preposterous rubbish as they lacked any material evidence, saying that he even failed to distinguish Hyundai Shipbuilding from Hyundai Heavy Industries.
The recent case only goes to prove once again that the GNP is a party of political charlatans bereft of elementary conscience and morality as a human being and a group of those keen on anti-reunification acts as they leave no means untried to hamstring cooperation between the fellow countrymen. The GNP has long lost the value of its existence as a political entity for its traitorous nature and crimes committed by its members. It should be thrown into the dumping ground of the times because it has no room to stay today when the north and the south are advancing toward reconciliation and cooperation under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration.
We can never pardon the GNP which has worked so hard to defame even the dignified system in the north by floating such sheer lie. We strongly demand the GNP unconditionally apologize for its crimes, clearly mindful of the consequences to be entailed by its serious mistake. An unconditional disbandment of the GNP, cesspool of crime, is prerequisite to putting an end to the confusion inside south Korea, developing the north-south economic cooperation and promoting national reconciliation and unity.

"Royal Blood-Fresh", Health Food

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The botanical health food "Royal Blood-Fresh" exhibited by the Korea Pugang Pharmaceutical Corporation was popular among Korean and foreign visitors to the First Pyongyang Autumn International Commodity Fair held some days ago. It is a kind of health food which is made with the help of high technology according to secret prescriptions used in royal palaces of Korea. It has proved very efficacious against limb-numbing, hemiplegia, speech impediment, vertigo, headache, thrombosis, high- or low-blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, angina pectoris and other diseases. It is also good for preventing aging.
Han Yong Gon, manager of the corporation, told KCNA that the 20-year long clinical test shows 95 percent of efficacy among the Korean and foreign patients who take the health food.
"Royal Blood-Fresh" was awarded a WIPO gold medal at the 7th National Exhibition of Inventions and New Technologies in April Juche 91 (2002) and highly appreciated at various international shows.
Prof. and Dr. Isam Hasanacha of the Pharmaceutical Faculty of Damascus University in Syria said that the three-year examination over the "Royal Blood-Fresh" shows that the health food is stronger than other medicines in dissolving substances causing thrombosis and free from side-effect. No other medicines can compare with it, he added.
It is exported to more than 20 countries including China, Russia, Germany, Canada, New Zealand, Britain and Syria. The Ugarit Corporation of Syria manufactures the "Royal Blood-Fresh" with the raw material imported from Korea under the license of the Korea Pugang Corporation.

National Meeting Held

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- A national meeting took place at the People's Palace of Culture Thursday to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of ardent revolutionary fighter Kim Hyong Gwon. Present there were Ri Yong Mu, Choe Thae Bok, Yang Hyong Sop and others.
Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, in a report spoke of the shining revolutionary life and undying exploits of Kim Hyong Gwon, a vanguard fighter of the anti-Japanese revolution, Kim Hyong Gwon was born into the patriotic and revolutionary family of Mangyongdae on November 4, 1905 as a son of Kim Po Hyon. He grew up as an ardent patriot, a revolutionary, under the education and guidance of his parents and Kim Hyong Jik, outstanding leader of the anti-Japanese national liberation movement, from his early years.
Keeping in mind the last words of Kim Hyong Jik that the independence of the country should be achieved at any cost generation after generation, Kim Hyong Gwon had waged a more active revolutionary struggle under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung, the reporter said, and continued: Upholding the strategic policy of Kim Il Sung on expanding the armed struggle deep into the homeland, Kim Hyong Gwon led an armed group of the Korean Revolutionary Army to advance into the homeland early in August Juche 19 (1930) and conduct valiant military and political activities, instilling the conviction of the liberation of the country and the victory of the revolution into the hearts of the Korean people, who were groaning in distress, and dealing a heavy blow to the Japanese imperialist aggressors.
Even when he was arrested by the Japanese imperialists and was behind bars, he fully showed the fighting spirit and stamina as an ardent patriot, a genuine revolutionary of Korea.
Though the Japanese imperialist hangmen held a brigandish and murderous trial to sentence him to 15 years' imprisonment, he was little disappointed but rather turned the court into a place of judging the Japanese imperialist aggressors, frightening them.
It was his iron-like faith and unshakable will that a revolutionary does not abandon his political faith and revolutionary principles even though he may die on the scaffold.
Kim Hyong Gwon, an ardent patriot and indomitable revolutionary fighter produced by the Korean people, left immortal feats in the glorious annals of the Korean revolution pioneered with arms under the leadership of the President as a flame spreading all over the land and a true standard-bearer defending the red flag of the revolution with the noble revolutionary spirit, patriotic spirit of the revolutionary family of Mangyongdae. His life is that of a genuine patriot who devoted his all to the liberation of the country and the rosy future of the people and that of a resolute revolutionary who was infinitely loyal to the cause of revolution, breaking through all sorts of ordeals.
