WPK Anniversary Celebrated in Different Countries

Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- An "evening of culture" was sponsored by the Poland-Korea Association, a meeting and photo exhibition by the France-Korea Friendship Association and a meeting, a photo exhibition and a film show were held under the co-sponsorship of the Mexican Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification and the Lazaro Cardenas Trade Unions Front of Mexico from Oct. 7 to 14 on the occasion of the 60th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea. At the film show Korean film "55th Anniversary of the DPRK" was screened.
Tadeusz Bialkowski, first vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Poland-Korea Association, addressing the "evening of culture", said that the history of the arduous struggle of the Korean people is a proud history of victory in which they defended the sovereignty of the nation and built Korean-style socialism under the leadership of the WPK.
The WPK and the Korean people, forming an integral whole more powerful than nuclear weapons, are demonstrating the might of Songun Korea all over the world while defending their idea and system and the dignity of the nation in reliance on their powerful armed forces, he said, adding: This reality is the brilliant fruition of the distinguished political ability and original political method of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il. At the "evening of culture" a music work composed by members of the association carrying their ardent reverence for Kim Jong Il was performed and all the participants in the function warmly congratulated the Korean people on greeting the 60th birthday of the WPK as a grand festival of victors, singing together with performers.

Agreement of S. Korea-U.S Security Consultative Council Meeting Condemned

Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification reportedly released a statement titled "We assail an agreement of the south Korea-U.S. 'annual security consultative council meeting' forcing subordination and war" on Oct. 26. Referring to the fact that the 37th "security consultative council" meeting agreed on strengthening south Korea-U.S. "alliance" and promoting the "plan for developing the combined forces military capacity" based on the "strategic flexibility" of the U.S. troops, the statement said that this is an act of totally ignoring the demand of the people for independence, peace and reunification in the Korean Peninsula.
The result of the recent opinion poll indicates that all the people consider the U.S. as the main factor of threatening peace and want the withdrawal of its troops, the statement noted, and pointed out:
Such being the case, the U.S. is escalating tension in the Korean Peninsula by designating the north as the "main threat" and reinforcing its armed forces. Worse still, the authorities squander the tax collected from the people in preparations for a war under the pretext of "independent national defence". It is unimaginable that the tax is spent for the munitions capital of the U.S., not for independence and peace.
If the U.S. insists on its hostile policy toward the north and policy for domination over the Korean peninsula in defiance of the demand of all the Koreans for independence and peace, the anti-U.S. struggle will be further intensified, the statement warned.

Kim Jong Il's Biography Published

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The book "Comrade Kim Jong Il's Biography", Vol. 3 edited by the History Institute of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was published by the WPK Publishing House. The biography which consists of 15 chapters (from chapters 31 to 45) comprehensively deals with the undying revolutionary exploits and the peerlessly great personality of leader Kim Jong Il who defended the country, the revolution and socialism and created a new history of building a great prosperous powerful nation by fully demonstrating the might of the Songun politics for more than a decade from January 1990 to February 2002, the most difficult period in the history of the WPK.
In the first 5 chapters the book refers to the facts that he defended Korean-style socialism centered on the popular masses by frustrating the imperialists' moves against socialism in the first half of the 1990s and developed the People's Army into the army of the leader, the Party and the people, leading the struggle to frustrate the nuclear racket of the U.S. imperialists and protect the sovereignty of the country and the nation to a brilliant victory. In the next 8 chapters the book deals with the immortal revolutionary feats he performed with a do-or-die will and devoted service in the historically rigorous period from July Juche 83 (1994) to the end of the 1990s.
It tells about the immortal exploits he performed by providing the historic Pyongyang meeting which culminated in the adoption of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and thereby bringing about a turning phase for national reunification. It also tells about how he put the movement of Koreans in Japan on to a new high level.
The book also deals with the facts that he led the work to augment the might of the DPRK under the banner of the Songun and make a breakthrough in the onward movement in the new century after making sure that the 55th birthday of the WPK was celebrated as a grand festival of socialist victors in the historic period at the turn of the century and that he opened a new chapter in the history of the development of the DPRK-China and DPRK-Russia friendly relations to be highly praised by mankind as a world political elder and the sun of the 21st century.

Proposal for Founding DFRK Supported in Switzerland

It referred to the 10-point policy to be pursued by the federal state. It continued:
The proposal serves as a fair and aboveboard, democratic and realistic one for reunification as it does not allow one side to absorb the other side but enables both sides to keep their socio- economic systems as they are on the principle of "one nation and one state, two systems and two governments." Holding that the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces should be withdrawn from south Korea if the proposal is to be realized, the statement demanded the U.S. stop all sorts of interference in the internal affairs of Korea and put an immediate end to its criminal moves to provoke a new war.

KCNA Refutes U.S. Anti-DPRK Human Rights Racket

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- The U.S. hard-line conservative forces have become more vociferous about the so-called "human rights issue" in the DPRK. At least 30 representatives from conservative political parties, Congress, religious bodies and human rights organizations had a meeting in Washington on Oct. 19 at which they made public a draft principle and recommendation regarding the human rights policy toward the DPRK. The document urged the U.S. administration and the international community to blend a security proposal including the nuclear issue with a human rights proposal when pursuing its policy towards the DPRK and underscored the need not to overlook the human rights issue in north Korea at the 5th six-party talks.
This is part of the campaign to pressurize the DPRK and an extension of its political farce against it.
As already known, the U.S. vicious attempt to increase the international pressure upon the DPRK over the nuclear issue has been frustrated. This compelled the U.S. to use the non-existent human rights issue as a means for putting pressure upon the DPRK.
The ulterior aim sought by the U.S. is to politicize and internationalize the human rights issue and pull down the dignified political system in the DPRK at any cost.
No matter to what the U.S. resorts its ambition for a regime change in the DPRK is nothing but a daydream.
The system and political regime in the DPRK are the most popular and democratic system chosen and built by the Koreans themselves. Therefore, the Koreans regard their system and regime as their life and soul and are ready to defend them at any cost.
The U.S. will never be able to understand the system and political regime in the DPRK as long as it insists on its wrong view on value and biased standards concerning human rights and democracy.
What matters is that such behavior of the U.S. is little short of upsetting the common understanding reached by the countries concerned at the last six-party talks.
The basic spirit of the joint statement of the talks is mutual respect and peaceful co-existence.
The pressure campaign launched by the U.S. under the groundless pretexts of "human rights abuse" and "illegal trafficking" defying this spirit is little short of annulling the statement.
Such practice on the part of the U.S. on the eve of the 5th six-party talks self-proves that its hostile policy toward the DPRK and its ambition to stifle it remain unchanged and this has become pronounced with the passage of time.
The U.S. escalated moves to pressurize the DPRK would only push the showdown between the DPRK and the U.S. to an extreme pitch of tension and hamstring the process for denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula.
The U.S. had better understand the serious consequences to be entailed by its breach of the spirit of the joint statement and behave itself.
