British Preparatory Committee Issues Appeal

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- A British preparatory committee for celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea released an appeal to the progressive forces in Britain on Sept. 1. The people of the DPRK are the vanguard of progressive mankind waging a relentless struggle to protect its sovereignty from war and build a new society, the appeal said, adding:
It is very important to boost the ties of solidarity between the British and Korean peoples in the struggle against invasion and war and against the reactionary forces standing in the way of the progressive development of humankind. Recalling that the committee is planning to organize diverse functions to celebrate the anniversary with splendor as part of the solidarity movement, the appeal continued: The imperialists were so rude as to designate the DPRK as an "outpost of tyranny" and have since conducted a frantic false propaganda over the nuclear and human rights issues.
We call upon the progressive political parties and organizations to join us in participating in such important events to demonstrate solidarity with the Korean people.
Our expression of firm solidarity with the Korean people alone can deal a blow at the forces keen to block progress and destroy socialism.

National Day of DPRK Observed in Different Countries

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place in Bulgaria and a lecture and a film show in India and Equatorial Guinea between Aug. 20 and Sept. 2 on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the DPRK (Sept. 9). Atanas Ivanov, secretary of the Bulgarian Communists Union, said in his speech at the meeting that Sept. 9 marks the 57th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK by President Kim Il Sung.
He noted that the Korean people single-mindedly united around leader Kim Jong Il are now reinforcing Korean style socialism centered on the popular masses despite obstacles and difficulties, true to his Songun politics.
Balzor Singh Chauhan, chairman of the Indian Youth Group for the Study of Works of Comrade Kim Il Sung, noted in a lecture that the Korean people turned their once backward country into a socialist powerful country, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence by embodying the Juche idea in all fields of the revolution and construction under the leadership of Kim Il Sung. The Korean people are now working hard to build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation and achieve the reunification of the country, confident of the future under the leadership of Kim Jong Il, he stressed.

Withdrawal of U.S. Troops from S. Korea Demanded

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- 60 years have passed since the U.S. troops' occupation of south Korea. In this regard papers here Thursday carry signed articles demanding the immediate withdrawal of the U.S. troops from south Korea. Rodong Sinmun says:
The Korean nation has suffered the tragedy and disgrace resulting from the national division for over half a century due to the U.S. imperialists' occupation of south Korea and their policy to perpetuate the division and stifle the DPRK. The U.S. imperialists' occupation of south Korea was a wanton violation of the publicly recognized laws and regulations on war enshrined in international law and quite contrary to the Korean Armistice Agreement.
The U.S. has increased its military presence in south Korea and strengthened its rule over south Korea and desperately stepped up its policy to stifle the DPRK by keeping there its forces, the leftover of the Cold War.
The U.S. has driven the belligerent relations between the DPRK and the U.S. to the phase of explosion, escalating its offensive to pressurize the DPRK with nukes under the pretext of the "nuclear threat" from the latter. Due to this, the situation on the Korean Peninsula is inching close to an extreme pitch of tension. The U.S. troops in south Korea are the root cause of it.
Under this situation the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from south Korea is more urgently demanded than ever before. It is impossible to achieve the peace and reunification of Korea nor is it possible to ensure peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world as long as there are the U.S. troops in south Korea. The U.S. forces' pullback from south Korea would bring about a phase decisively favorable for peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and peace and security in Northeast Asia. It would, at the same time, remove the root cause of war from the Korean Peninsula, defuse the tension and open a bright prospect of settling the Korean issue. If it is true that the U.S. has no intention to invade the DPRK and has the stance to ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula and improve the relations with the DPRK, it should prove it in practice by making a decision for the withdrawal of its troops without delay.
Minju Joson calls upon all the Koreans to turn out as one in the struggle to force the U.S. troops to quit south Korea in order to protect the dignity and sovereignty of the nation and achieve national reunification.

Removal of MacArthur's Statue Urged

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Yun Ki Jin, chairman of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification, reportedly issued an appeal on Sept. 1. The appeal says all the people are called to a struggle for the removal of the statue of MacArthur, the ringleader of aggression, by the urgent consciousness that the Korean nation has no future unless the U.S. troops are forced out of south Korea and the confidence that there is nothing impossible when the whole nation gets united. The south Korean organizations of the anti-U.S. movement are waging a relentless struggle to remove his statue in Inchon this year which marks the lapse of 60 years since the U.S. troops landed in south Korea, the appeal notes. This struggle, it says, is of weighty importance in victoriously waging the fight in the standoff with the United States in the future.
It calls for a greater devotion and efforts of the south Korean youth and students in making this year the year of the withdrawal of the U.S. forces and the year of independent reunification.

AINDF Pyongyang Mission Chief Interviewed

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Jo Il Min, chief of the Pyongyang Mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front (AINDF), Wednesday was interviewed by KCNA on the lapse of 60 years since U.S. troops landed in south Korea. He told the reporter that the six decades of the U.S. forces' occupation of south Korea have been crime-woven years in which they have encroached upon the sovereignty and dignity of Korea and barred the development and reunification of the Korean nation. The United States bisected the Korean nation which had lived as a homogeneous nation in one and the same land for 5,000 years and has been blocking Korea's reunification for 60 long years, he said, adding: This anti-reunification act of the U.S. is the most grave crime.
The chief of the mission continued:
The U.S. is tightening its military occupation and rule over south Korea. And, after the publication of the historical June 15 joint declaration, it is resorting to mean artifices overtly and covertly to block at whatever cost the favorably developing process of inter-Korean reconciliation, cooperation and reunification with every nerve on the alert. What is also grave among the crimes committed by the U.S. is the crimes against humanity such as massacre and destructions perpetrated by it during the last Korean war.
Another crime of the U.S. imperialists is that they are tenaciously seeking to "overthrow the system" of the independent sovereign state by every conceivable means such as nuclear threat, economic blockade and ideological and cultural infiltration, having made it their policy to isolate and stifle the DPRK.
History makes it unequivocal that an end must be put to the record of crimes of the U.S. forces in south Korea.
The Koreans set this year as the year of the withdrawal of the U.S. forces. The chief called upon the world progressive forces to extend the scope of their activities for support to and solidarity with the Korean nation in its just patriotic cause against the U.S. imperialists' hostile policy towards the DPRK and their war moves against the north and for the expulsion of the U.S. forces from south Korea in accordance with the idea of "By our nation itself".

Foreigners Visit Farms

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Oleg Davydov, charge d'affaires ad interim, and members of the Russian embassy here visited the Chongsan Co-op Farm, Kangso County, South Phyongan Province, Wednesday on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. They laid bouquets before the statue of President Kim Il Sung standing in Chongsan-ri and paid respects.
They looked round the Chongsan-ri Revolutionary Museum.
While seeing with deep interest historical relics and materials, they were briefed on Chongsan-ri, well known as the place which bears imperishable footmarks of the three generals of Mt. Paektu and where the great Chongsan-ri spirit and Chongsan-ri method were created.
Then they went round crop fields awaiting harvest, thrashing grounds, modern dwelling houses and so forth.
Meanwhile, members of various embassies in Pyongyang in charge of culture and friendship drove to the Unjong Co-op Farm specializing in stock breeding in North Hwanghae Province on the same day.
The visitors heard about the history of the farm in front of the panoramic picture standing at the entrance to the farm. Then they stepped on to the observation platform to enjoy a bird's-eye view of the farm which had undergone a change under the loving care of leader Kim Jong Il and went round the milk processing room, the milking room, cold storage and other parts of the farm well furnished as an all-embracing stock-breeding base.

National Meeting Celebrates DPRK's Birthday

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- A national meeting took place at the April 25 House of Culture here Thursday to celebrate the 57th anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Party, the State and the army and chairpersons of the friendly parties, leading officials of the working people's organizations, officials of the armed forces and power organs, exemplary officials, heroes and people of meritorious services.
Also present on invitation were overseas Koreans, the chief of the Pyongyang Mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front, diplomatic envoys of different countries here and foreign guests.
Premier Pak Pong Ju in a report said that President Kim Il Sung founded the DPRK on September 9, Juche 37 (1948) which emerged a full-fledged sovereign state in the international arena and demonstrated the honor and might as a country guided by Juche. Its founding meant the appearance of a new type socialist state in the human political history, which strives to materialize the independent idea of the popular masses, and helped the world progressive people find the most correct way of building a people's government guaranteeing the successful implementation of the cause of independence, he noted, and went on:
Under the outstanding leadership of Kim Il Sung the DPRK came to develop into a genuine people's government which always placed the interests of the popular masses above anything else and worked hard to meet them and turned into a socialist state of Juche type undisputably supported and trusted by them.
The glorious history of the DPRK has been successfully carried forward by leader Kim Jong Il, a reliable successor to Kim Il Sung's revolutionary cause. Kim Jong Il has built the DPRK to be Kim Il Sung's state both in name and reality. He took the historic measure of legislating on holding Kim Il Sung in high esteem as eternal President of the Republic. It was the most vivid manifestation of intense loyalty and the noblest sense of moral obligation towards the leader, unprecedented in the world's history of socialist movement, and a great deed to be specially recorded in the nation's history, which made it possible for the DPRK to steadily advance on the permanent basis of the President's Juche idea and his feats performed in the nation-building.
Kim Jong Il has converted the DPRK into a powerful socialist state with invincible might. He has applied the fundamental idea of socialist politics and met the law-governed requirements of the Songun revolution, thus successfully building the driving forces of the Korean revolution with the People's Army as a core and main force and achieving the steel-like unity of the servicepersons and people. He, at the same time, achieved the single-minded unity of the whole party and army and all the people based on the comradeship centered on the leader with his noble benevolent politics, thus significantly consolidating the socio-political foundation of the DPRK and augmenting its politico-ideological might.
Kim Jong Il has increased the potentials of the DPRK in all fields by enforcing the ever-victorious Songun politics. This exploit serves as the most precious treasure as it has paved the most correct way of building a socialist state in our era by embodying the Juche revolutionary principle that the government is maintained and grows stronger thanks to the army.
It is the fundamental requirement for the development of the DPRK to firmly preserve Kim Il Sung's Juche-based idea on nation-building and his feats performed in it and glorify them, the reporter said, calling for making the DPRK shine forever as the glorious state of Kim Il Sung and upholding Kim Jong Il's Songun idea and politics with loyalty.
The Koreans will foil the moves of the separatists at home and abroad by their concerted efforts and achieve the country's reunification without fail under the banner of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and certainly build an independent and prosperous reunified powerful state on the Korean Peninsula. Turning to the prevailing situation, he said:
The DPRK is standing in acute stand-off with the imperialist reactionaries. The army and people of the DPRK will never tolerate the enemies' moves to isolate and stifle it but mercilessly foil them.
The denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula was one of the last instructions of the President and it still remains an ultimate goal of the DPRK.
The DPRK government has consistently maintained the stand to seek a negotiated peaceful settlement of the nuclear issue and will strive to realize the denuclearization of the peninsula.
The DPRK will as ever unite close with the peoples of all countries advocating independence, resolutely foil the U.S. imperialists' ambition to dominate the world and their brigandish state-sponsored terrorism and firmly preserve peace and security in Asia and the rest of the world, the premier noted, and continued: The DPRK will boost solidarity and the relations of friendship and cooperation with all the countries and peoples that respect its sovereignty and support its just cause and work hard to build an independent and peaceful new world.

Withdrawal of U.S. Forces from S. Korea Urged

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- The dynamic anti-U.S. struggle now under way in the north, the south and overseas in connection with the lapse of 60 years since the U.S. occupation of south Korea represents the firm will of the Korean nation not to allow this occupation to last any more. Minju Joson today says this in a signed commentary.
It goes on: The U.S. forces occupied south Korea after the August 15 liberation not for "protecting" south Korean people nor for ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula. The occupation was aimed to dominate the whole of Korea and the rest of Asia, using south Korea as springboard.
The U.S. brought its wicked scheme for aggression into bolder relief after the publication of the June 15 joint declaration. The U.S. was the chief architect of the Korean nation's division and remains a main obstacle to Korea's reunification and a permanent source of war.
It is as clear as daylight that it is impossible to reunify the country and ensure peace as long as the U.S. is present in south Korea.
Peace on the Korean Peninsula is directly linked with peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world. The withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea, therefore, presents itself as an urgent task the fulfillment of which brooks no further delay for peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world. That is why not only the Koreans but the world peace-loving people demand that the U.S. pull back its forces, a chief disturber of peace and security in Northeast Asia, from south Korea.
Irresistible is the trend of the times demanding the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea. The U.S. should take a measure to withdraw its forces for aggression from south Korea as early as possible. If it works hard to keep its forces in south Korea, they will suffer the disgrace of being driven out of there by the fierce anti-U.S. struggle of the Korean nation.

DPRK's Stand to Seek Negotiated Peaceful Settlement of Nuclear Issue Clarified

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- The DPRK government consistently maintains the stand to seek a negotiated peaceful settlement of the nuclear issue and will exert tireless efforts to realize the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, said Premier Pak Pong Ju in a report delivered at the national meeting held at the April 25 House of Culture here Thursday to mark the 57th anniversary of the DPRK. The denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula was one of the last instructions of President Kim Il Sung and it remains an ultimate goal of the DPRK, he said. The DPRK is standing in acute stand-off with imperialist reactionaries, he said, declaring that its army and people will never tolerate the enemies' moves to isolate and stifle it but mercilessly foil them.

It helps give correct medical diagnosis and raise the efficacy of treatment. The clinical test shows 100 percent of treatment efficacy for the patients at initial stage and 70-80 percent for the 10 to 20-year long patients suffering from more than 50 kinds of diseases including Neurovegetative ataxia, pancreatitis, insomnia and bronchial asthma.
It, which was highly appreciated in the Moscow International Invention Exhibition, has been applied in various countries including Venezuela.

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, met and had a friendly talk with the delegation of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China headed by its Secretary Li Keqiang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the Liaoning Provincial People's Congress, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Thursday. On hand were officials concerned and the Chinese ambassador to the DPRK. On the occasion the head of the delegation said that the Korean people under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il are now registering great successes in various domains including economic development and the efforts to improve the inter-Korean relations. The Sino-Korean friendly and cooperative relations are steadily developing under the great care of Hu Jintao and Kim Jong Il, he said.
He hoped that the Korean people rallied close around Kim Jong Il would gain greater success in their efforts to build a great prosperous powerful nation under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Joint Statement of Koreans Published

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Organizations in different regions in the north and the south of Korea and abroad issued a joint statement Thursday, 60 years since the U.S. military occupation of south Korea. Among them were the North Side's Preparatory Committee for Joint Functions of Koreans in the North and the South and Overseas to Implement the June 15 Joint Declaration, the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland, the south Korean Federation of Peasants Associations, the south Korean Federation of the Poor, the Japanese Regional Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon) and the Headquarters of Koreans in Japan of Pomminryon. The statement calls for driving the U.S. forces out of south Korea by the concerted efforts of the Koreans and reunifying the country.
Unspeakable is the harm done by the U.S. forces to the Koreans since they landed in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula under the mask of allied forces on September 8, 1945, to say nothing of the misfortune and pain the Korean nation has undergone since then, it said, and went on:
Even after signing the Armistice Agreement the U.S. forces converted south Korea into a nuclear arsenal and a logistic base for invading the north, far from withdrawing or cutting down the forces. They perpetrated criminal acts in ordinary times, and when Koreans demanded independence, democracy and reunification these troops ruthlessly killed them.
In other words, the past 60 years of the U.S. forces' presence in south Korea have been a period in which the fate of south Koreans has been no better than that of slaves who are more dead than alive and the 60 years of national division have been a period in which the Korean nation has been exposed to the threat of war and many overseas Koreans have been prevented from traveling due to the national division and confrontation imposed by the U.S. upon them.
The Koreans declared this year marking the 60th anniversary of its cursed national division as a year when they will certainly reunify the country independently and force the U.S. forces to quit south Korea and a year in which they wll wage a do-or-die struggle to foil the U.S. war hysteria.
September 8 also marks the day when the U.S. proclaimed its occupation of the land south of the 38th parallel and went into action, the statement said, stressing that the passage of a day from that date means adding one more day to the 60 years of the U.S. forces' presence in south Korea.
In a nutshell, now is the time for the Korean nation to go into action, the statement said, and continued:
There would be nothing impossible for the Koreans if they go united. The 70 million Koreans with a history spanning 5,000 years will make the struggle for the U.S. withdrawal rage now that they are guided by the idea of "By our nation itself" on the road of independence and great unity.
The Koreans will successfully achieve the three forms of cooperation for national independence, peace against war and reunification and patriotism and certainly reunify the country in the present generation.

Strengthening of Korean-style State Leadership System Called for

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il, attaching weighty importance to reorganizing and perfecting the state leadership system to augment the might of the DPRK, defined the position and role of the DPRK National Defence Commission from a new angle as required by the Songun revolution and, on this basis, established the Korean-style state leadership system with it as the core. He has thus developed the country into a peculiar and powerful socialist state. Premier Pak Pong Ju said this in a report at the national meeting held at the April 25 House of Culture Thursday to mark the 57th anniversary of the DPRK. The might of the country is closely related to the solidity of the state leadership system, he said, adding that the DPRK is demonstrating its might as a political and ideological power as it has firmly protected the dignity and sovereignty of the nation by the force of the single-minded unity of the revolutionary ranks with the People's Army as a mainstay and as a military power which stands in confrontation with any formidable imperialist enemy thanks to the matchless revolutionary army and a powerful national defence industry. This is a proud fruition of Kim Jong Il's outstanding Songun revolutionary leadership.
The feat Kim Jong Il has performed by increasing the overall potentials of the country in every way with the ever-victorious Songun politics serves as the most precious treasure as it has paved the most correct way for building a socialist state in our era by applying the revolutionary principle of Juche that the power is maintained and grows stronger thanks to the army, the reporter said.
He stressed the need to steadily strengthen the state leadership system with the NDC as the core, establish the strict monolithic leadership system of the Party in the power organs as required by the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation and increase in every way the function and role of power organs at all levels.
